Greenford: Tutu Travels!

Post Number: 3504

Hello, darlings! It’s Pink Tutu Sparkles here, your favourite tutu-wearing, pink-loving, drag queen extraordinaire! As you know, I’m a huge fan of all things sparkly and glamorous, and my latest adventure took me all the way to Greenford, which is a quaint little town, full of charm. And believe me, charm is what my life is all about.

Remember, I love to travel! And I find that the most fabulous and exciting way to get around is by either hopping on a train or, when time allows, hitching a ride on a lovely horse drawn carriage. Now, this particular adventure had me riding the rails, and oh my darling, was it a journey! But let me rewind…

This past weekend, I was so lucky to be invited to a lovely little fair in Greenford. It was an absolute riot, my darlings! The locals were absolutely darling, all so warm and welcoming! They made me feel right at home, just like a little princess (which, let’s face it, is basically my inner queen, after all!). The air was alive with music and laughter, and the smells of all the yummy treats being sold had me practically salivating! And the highlight, the grand prize – they had a real life carousel, just like the ones I see in the theatre, you know?

But before I could let loose and get twirling on that beauty, my journey began at Euston Station, dressed in the most exquisite ensemble you’ve ever seen. It’s so hard to pick just one, you know? It’s hard to top my latest sparkling pink sequined tutu but on this special trip, it was my bright fuschia layered number that absolutely screamed "Tutu-Queen Arrives! " It’s so much more dramatic with the bright layers that pop on and off like flower petals. It’s been the absolute perfect outfit for any kind of occasion. Plus, I have my trusty pair of glittery red stilettos to elevate any look, like the high-heeled Cinderella that I am! My hair was curled and twisted and sprinkled with the most perfect pink sparkly hair glitter you’ve ever seen, and topped with my very own pink tutu tiara. Oh darling, you must admit, the entire ensemble was breathtakingly chic! And I just had to have a massive pink fluffy feather boa. It’s just SO me!

I do like to get everyone into the tutu spirit, and even though it was a long train ride, my Pink Tutu Travels were definitely the hottest part of my look. The conductor was so impressed and complimentary and, as usual, many other passengers were wanting photos and tutu-time advice!

Greenford station wasn’t exactly the Grand Central, so as a treat, after getting a bit peckish and doing some “light” clothes shopping at the local department store (that’s a great source for pink sequins, if I may be so bold) I was whisked away to my hotel. The “hotel” may be an exaggeration, as I am really just an old-school guest house, with “luxury accommodations.” (Yes, they provided a kettle for making a good strong cuppa!) But don't be fooled by the exterior, darling, inside was a very stylish and fun little room, with a view of a sweet little square garden. The *pink-sequined floral bedding (yes! They had pink-sequined floral bedding!!) helped, too. This really was like stepping into one of my dreams! And then there was The Pub down the road from the guest house! So many people had pink sequins in their outfits and, by the way, the *tutu craze has finally arrived here in Greenford. Now, that’s Pink Tutu Sparkles approved, honey!

Oh, how the whole place had the most amazing charm to it! They were even filming something, my darlings, it looked like some sort of drama with all these big lights and lots of actors milling around! How glamorous! Of course I tried to be subtle and not draw attention to myself with my stunning sequined outfit, but why be so modest?! It was so thrilling.

As a bona fide star (or shall I say, a “shining pink star!”, ) you really have to put the most amazing and inspiring shows on every night! So, as soon as the lovely people of Greenford started showing up to my gig at the local community hall, which was practically packed with adoring fans oooh it was my moment! I had to strut, sing and wow the Tutu- loving audience!

Of course I had an entire wardrobe prepared for all of the numbers I knew everyone wanted to see.
And so, my first outfit – it was the pink and green number and the best thing, the green wasn’t just any green! It was emerald! Oh darling! And how was this received? My fans went WILD! And who was to say no to those looks! I strutted and twirled on that stage! My audience could have stayed there watching me, ooohing and aahing, all night long, it was like a beautiful dance! But darling, my true masterpiece was saved for the last performance! I came back for an encore. You see, my fabulous friends in Greenford kept requesting more! I really could have stayed all night!

And then came the grand finale! It was spectacular, you see? It had Pink, purple, pink glitter sparkly gems on the bodice of my tutu and purple ruffles at the bottom and black sheer, iridescent material flowing behind it all. It just went on for miles. And for the occasion, my stilettos were a purple-pink sequined design – perfect, absolutely stunning, honey! And they say I never look my best, lol, the audience just couldn't stop applauding. Of course, we wrapped the performance up with everyone joining me in a huge tutu twirling rave-like frenzy! That's just how Pink Tutu Sparkles gets down and every night of the tour is even more magnificent! We wrapped up with lots of signing of my new Pink Tutu Sparkles souvenir guide that my darling manager always has with him. Oh darling, if I ever have children, I want them to sign books at the age of 3 – that will be my goal. Think I’ll put that on my list. For every aspiring drag queen.

Oh, but don't worry my dear friends! It wasn’t all just about sequins, sparkle, and my fabulous pink tutus! I took time to discover this enchanting little town – because I love to explore! Oh darling!

First stop, the Local Greenford Library. It just wasn’t complete without a visit, Now you may say I have books to read on every conceivable subject. I am actually trying to expand on my reading materials – a real quest. (Maybe, how to design more tutus.) And then, The Little Local Gallery! Oh my, it’s all so much fun to see local talent. It's the place to go for all the latest artistic trends, don’t you know. My new painting (in progress, but don’t worry, I know it’s going to be fantastic!) features the iconic London Underground sign because I've just got to find someway of blending that into my world, so my fans know to be a part of this pink tutu fantasy world. And I just LOVE The Underground. The colours of my painting match all the wonderful tutus I love so much - you just can’t go wrong. And it was actually, a really nice, intimate little gallery, too! So different from the big exhibitions I sometimes visit, oh it was just like something out of an Agatha Christie story - very charming! And speaking of charming, I also went for a wonderful Sunday stroll and I happened to see a sweet little bakery called Sweet Indulgence. It was literally impossible not to have a cake! They have the most delicious cake you've ever seen! - absolutely the most decadent pink velvet cake with cream and sparkling pink sugar.

Oh darling! Now you see what life in the pink is all about! You just need a tutu, darling. There is nothing better, especially for a little afternoon snack or for an entire fabulous party!

Stay tuned for the next Pink Tutu Travels Blog Post! You don't want to miss what happens next! Until then, keep it fabulous! And keep it PINK! Because if it’s not pink, it’s not for Pink Tutu Sparkles!
