Abingdon Adventures: Post 3562

Hello darlings! Pink Tutu Sparkles here, signing in from the delightful town of Abingdon, where the air is crisp, the leaves are starting to turn, and my pink tutu is sparkling more than ever.

You know, I can’t help but think how lucky I am. Getting paid to travel and spread the gospel of pink tutus is a dream come true! It’s my mission, you know, to ensure everyone gets to experience the joy of a perfectly pink tulle creation, and Abingdon has certainly proven receptive!

I arrived this morning by train, of course. I’ve been known to travel by horse on occasion, but it’s just so much more practical (and stylish) to wear my favourite pink ensemble on the train. There was a lovely lady across from me with her grand-daughter, and after just a quick "excuse me," she had the little girl all giddy at the sight of my tulle. We were even chatting about the importance of supporting arts, culture, and pink, a fabulous start to my Abingdon experience.

After checking in at the rather lovely boutique hotel (you guessed it, adorned in shades of blush!), I ventured into town. The streets were filled with an air of charm – historic architecture, bustling market stalls, and even a cute little tea shop! I stopped for a delightful scone and pot of tea, giggling with the local baker, a dear lady with the sweetest smile you’ve ever seen. You’ve just got to see these English gardens – every house I pass has vibrant blooming flowers that truly set the mood. I can see why the local arts and theatre scene is so strong! I am utterly besotted.

My schedule this week is jam packed. I’ll be doing a "Tutus For All" workshop at the community centre, followed by a grand evening show at the historic theatre, then another performance at the local pub later in the week. The energy here is absolutely infectious – I can already tell the performances will be sensational! I even found a beautiful vintage shop crammed full of fabulous costumes – my fingers are itching to pick through the treasures. You know, vintage fashion is truly my weakness. So I'll have to make a quick stop and see if I can unearth any new pink-tinted gems for my collection.

Oh! The theatre...the Abingdon theatre. A veritable jewel of architectural beauty! Imagine my joy when they invited me to dance in their next ballet performance – “The Pink Swan.” Naturally, I jumped at the chance. This is where I belong, you know, gracing the stage in a pink tulle tutu and inspiring the hearts of people far and wide.

Even after years on the drag scene, there’s always a fresh excitement every time I get ready. You see, being Pink Tutu Sparkles is a metamorphosis, a celebration of everything bold and beautiful! It's like slipping on an invisible crown and commanding attention with my every step. There’s a magic to drag – it allows you to transcend any barrier, to empower and celebrate not only yourself but everyone in the room. And, honestly, is there anything more beautiful than the empowering feeling of a pink tutu?

As you can probably tell, I’m absolutely brimming with excitement to share every second of this week’s Abingdon adventure with you, darlings! Check in every day for the next few days for more glimpses into my journey, including my adventures in fashion, the performance highlights, and perhaps even some snippets of the choreography from "The Pink Swan."

Stay radiant, stay fabulous, and most importantly, don't forget to wear your pink tutu!

See you on the stage, Pink Tutu Sparkles XOXO
