How did I even end up in Carshalton? Well, it all began with a whisper, a rumour in the backstage whispers at the lovely Brighton Theatre Royal. The local fair was holding a talent contest, and wouldn’t you know it, they were looking for a special queen! It’s amazing how word travels, eh? Apparently, they’d heard all about the Pink Tutu Sparkles magic – the sparkling costumes, the whimsical dance routines, the contagious positivity that sets my stage alight! It seemed destiny had us headed straight to Carshalton, and as soon as I heard that rumour, I knew this little town needed a big dose of pink tutu magic.
This, darlings, is why I travel the land in search of the next great performance opportunity. Be it a local fair in Carshalton, a swanky London theatre, or even a charity event in the middle of a bustling farmers' market – the show must go on! (Even if my feet are a little sore after trotting all the way on the train, let’s be honest). It’s all part of the journey, and for a queen like me, every day is a whirlwind adventure!
Before I took the plunge and decided to embrace the glittering world of drag, I was simply Alex, your average Derbyshire lad. Science, it seems, was my destiny, so off I went to study Chemistry – yes, you heard me right! This Queen has a brain for science! In the lab, by day, I worked tirelessly testing the strength of fabrics – the most mundane of jobs. I always felt like my true colours were hiding, yearning to break free. But when I accidentally stumbled upon a tutu, a magnificent creation made of a hundred shades of pink, during a university ballet fundraiser, everything changed. It was like a revelation, a message from the universe saying, "Alex, darling, you were born to wear pink!" The moment I slipped it on, a spark ignited. Suddenly, Alex became Pink Tutu Sparkles, a pink-loving, glitter-obsessed queen ready to dance her way into your hearts!
Of course, my passion for ballet is what cemented the name 'Pink Tutu Sparkles.' From a young age, the delicate grace, the intricate choreography, the breathtaking beauty – it just captured my imagination. You can find me every Wednesday evening, pirouette-ing with the best of them at the Royal Ballet School! I find the world of ballet and theatre perfectly complement my drag world. And with all that beautiful clothing shopping, who could resist adding a gorgeous pink tutu to their wardrobe, right?!
Anyway, enough about me. This journey isn’t all about Pink Tutu Sparkles. It's about the magic of the pink tutu! And trust me, that magic isn’t confined to the stage. We’re talking everyday, fabulous magic!
