Belfast: Pink Tutu Sparkles takes on the Emerald Isle! (Blog Post #3624)

Hello darlings! It's your favourite pink-tutu-clad queen, Pink Tutu Sparkles, and I'm absolutely buzzing to be back with you all for another fabulous blog post! Today's tale takes us right to the heart of the Emerald Isle, where this little sparkly queen found herself in the vibrant city of Belfast, oh the glamour!

Before I even left Derbyshire, my excitement levels were reaching a peak that could rival Everest! This whole journey began with a call from the fabulous organisers of the "All That Glitters" fair - a celebration of all things sparkly and fabulous - and as soon as I heard the words "Belfast" and "Tutus," well, you can imagine what happened next... let's just say, booking a carriage for the journey couldn't have been faster!

The journey itself was a dream. The swaying rhythm of the carriage and the soft, emerald landscapes flashing past my window were practically begging for me to pull out a new shade of pink and whip out my knitting needles. I think I managed to craft no fewer than four sparkly headbands on the way, a true testament to the magic of the train and the wonders of my latest, ultra-soft, feather-light pink yarn. Oh, did I mention that it's all natural? I try to be mindful about the environment - all of those shimmering tutus need looking after, and our planet deserves the same amount of love!

When we finally arrived in Belfast, I practically skipped through the station and into a taxi - the air just seemed to crackle with excitement! After a whirlwind check-in at the hotel, my journey started with a trip to the "The Balmoral" theatre - a real jewel of the city, the interior all opulent red and gold with beautiful Art Deco details.

I am, after all, a performer first and foremost, so the first stop was naturally a little rehearsal session in one of the studios - and as always, it was a total riot of spinning, leaping and glittering. Now, I’ll admit I’m not quite a “Swan Lake” kind of girl, but that doesn't mean I don’t love ballet! It’s truly magical - and the beauty of the form lends itself so well to any level of experience, including mine! I managed to find a few lovely ladies in the local dance club, so we had a little impromptu workshop session and I'm delighted to say my "tutu tips and tricks" went down a treat!

Next on my Belfast agenda was the “All That Glitters” fair. Honestly, it was absolutely everything I hoped for! Imagine a magical bazaar full of fabulous things! Glittering sequins, beautiful scarves, stunning jewelry, beautiful art, and of course - Tutus! I confess I lost a whole afternoon getting lost amongst the treasures, finding so many beautiful pink pieces to add to my collection. I found a magnificent pair of boots with a glittery finish and a magnificent new feather boa that literally sent me into a happy spin. You might have seen the photo on Instagram!

But the real highlight had to be the performance I gave at the fair - oh, it was pure joy! I spent hours perfecting my “Belfast Bloom" act. I danced with abandon - twirling through my beautiful pink number and dazzling the crowds with the latest moves from my favourite ballet instructors, who had kindly lent me a couple of "Swan Lake" spins.

It felt like every soul there was lost in a world of sparkle and laughter! And guess what? I saw dozens of people - children, mums, grannies, and even a few dapper gentlemen - try on tutus that day! Honestly, it warms my little, pink-tutu-loving heart to think that I might just be making the world a bit more sparkly, one tulle flounce at a time!

Speaking of fun, the evening wasn’t over just yet - no, darling! The "All That Glitters" event finished with an amazing performance at "The MAC" in Belfast. Imagine, if you will, a magnificent theatre filled with hundreds of happy faces - a real melting pot of ages, tastes, and personalities - all united by one common thing: a shared love of sequins, sparkles and, of course, all things fabulous!

I had the pleasure of sharing the stage with some of the most wonderful performers and artists Belfast had to offer - everyone from singers to burlesque dancers to comedy acts and the most incredible drag artists!

Oh, it was pure magic!

You can bet that this Pink Tutu Queen is going to have some truly magnificent stories to tell back at the lab when I return. Now, off to catch the horse to London and share the glamour with my lovely fans there! Until next time, stay fabulous!

Yours always,

Pink Tutu Sparkles. xx
