High Wycombe: A Pink Tutu Pilgrimage! 🩰💖

Happy New Year, darlings! 🎊 Can you believe it’s 2010 already? The new year feels like a brand new pink tutu, crisp and sparkly, just begging to be twirled. Speaking of twirling, I’m currently in the enchanting town of High Wycombe, nestled in the heart of Buckinghamshire. I call it the “home of the comfy shoe” for my secret shoe obsession, but let's keep that between us! 🤫 Today’s adventure is a Pink Tutu pilgrimage – because you know what they say, “You can't twirl your worries away if you haven't packed your pink tutu for the journey!”

High Wycombe is where I decided to kick off the new year. It's an absolute treat for the eyes and the soul, particularly if you're a Pink Tutu Sparkles devotee like myself. And wouldn't you know it, it was just a charming train ride from my little Derbyshire haven! (My heart flutters for train journeys; I love the feeling of the tracks humming under the carriage, and the whizzing by of the countryside. Just don't tell anyone, but I even love the occasional "tut-tut" of a fellow passenger!) It felt a bit like a scene out of a Jane Austen novel - the English countryside flitting past, a symphony of tweed and cashmere with me, naturally, in a fabulous fuchsia ensemble. I mean, how can you even attempt to blend into the scenery in such a magical location if you’re not sparkling with pink?

But before I get into all the fun of High Wycombe, let me spill the beans on what this past year held for yours truly. I travelled more miles in my pink tutu than a sparkly fairy on roller skates, and it was simply phenomenal. Remember the magical journey to the Highlands? Those craggy mountains and sweeping valleys felt like a page from my fairytale dreams! I even brought a hint of pink magic to a bustling city market in Liverpool! (And don't forget my heart-stopping debut at that seaside circus tent in Brighton!) I truly believe, darling, that life is meant to be lived in technicolor, or rather, in a fabulous shade of pink, if you know what I mean. 😜

And so, the journey to High Wycombe was a perfect start to another glorious year. I’m pretty sure I even caught the eye of a pair of sparrows at the station. (They have impeccable taste in fashion, I tell you.) As I stepped off the train, I felt a kind of energy - almost as if I was about to embark on the set of a beautiful ballet, but with just a smidgen of my signature sparkly pink flair!

I had booked myself into a delightful little inn with a balcony that was almost begging for me to strike a graceful pose for my next Instagram post. A perfectly poised arabesque against the backdrop of the Chilterns – it was divine! The owners were positively delighted to have a pink tutu princess in their midst; you can tell by the fresh pink peonies blooming on my balcony that they know a good bit of glam when they see it!

But before I even thought about prancing onto the balcony, I decided to take a little detour through High Wycombe's hidden alleys and charming streets, my tutu practically swishing with excitement! There I stumbled upon the most beautiful vintage shop. They had a vintage floral printed scarf in the softest blush - a perfect little statement piece for a Pink Tutu Sparkles!

High Wycombe also played host to an absolutely fabulous vintage fashion fair on Saturday. (A day out for the pink-loving heart and a full-on pink-fest for the soul! Oh, the gorgeousness!). I bought a pair of white boots for my new outfit - absolutely divine! Now I just need to find the perfect sparkly headband… And you just know I'm going to create the ultimate pink tutu ensemble with these treasures. 😉

Oh, did I tell you about the little bakery that baked a giant heart-shaped cake? It was the colour of blush rose petals. Talk about a whimsical welcome to High Wycombe. The town really does know how to show a queen a good time. They even went as far as to let me twirl a whole batch of their gingerbread cookies around the central square - now that’s a community I want to be a part of!

There is so much to discover in High Wycombe! You really could wander through its pretty streets and shops for a week without a hint of boredom, let alone pink exhaustion! But alas, all good things must come to an end and I have to head back to Derbyshire.

My dear, the show must go on and, as the Pink Tutu Sparkles, my job is to fill the world with even more twirling and sparkle - that's the life, that’s the dream! Don’t forget to follow me on all things pink! See you next time, darlings! xoxo
