Dudley Darling! Pink Tutu Sparkles Takes on the Midlands!

Hello lovelies! It’s your favourite Pink Tutu Sparkles, ready to shimmy and shake right here on www.pink-tutu.com. You’re looking at post number 3688 and you already know what this means! Another fab adventure awaits!

Now, I’m not sure if you lot remember, but back in the day, my real name Alex was just a regular, unassuming student at the University of Nottingham (still rocking that lab coat!), but oh, the things that can happen with a single step into a tutu! And let’s be honest, what girl (and by girl, I mean me) wouldn’t love the soft, twirly feel of a big pink tutu, just begging to be twirled around the lab, no less?! I swear, I just about lost it in that room filled with my university mates’ costumes for our student fundraising charity dance night! I knew right there and then – that pink tutu, it was magic, and I had to take it on tour with me. I just HAD to! And the rest, well, they say is history!

Now, my little pretties, grab your snacks and let’s travel right back to that crisp, fresh morning in February 2010 when Pink Tutu Sparkles took the stage in the mighty, mystical Midlands, aka the home of Dudley. The Dudley train station welcomed me like a long lost relative, I love the feeling of train travel, something about the chugging and the bustle… but where else can you rock a full glam look with a dramatic pink tutu and still not get any stares? (Except, maybe, from that cute lad in the cafe on the train station, I did have a chance to flash him my pink sparkly shoes and then… he blushed, you know what that means… haha! Just another reason to embrace pink, right ladies?!) I can’t help myself, Dudley was such a fun location. Honestly, my lovely friends, Dudley was the start of my love for those historic Black Country towns! A magical trip, I’d definitely say.

Speaking of Dudley, there’s this wonderful thing in town – this massive black metal contraption, you know? They call it a castle… and the locals… they really embraced the show, those fab Dudleonians, They really gave me that warmth and fuzzies feeling. And what else could a gal ask for? I was a bit lost trying to find that little, cute theater I’d been booked for. Luckily, the locals are fantastic – this gorgeous lady on the bus pointed me in the right direction, I swear it was the best tea I'd ever had (still trying to make her the best tea back!), that’s the thing with those towns, they’re filled with friendly souls. They just don’t quite grasp the Pink Tutu magic. That night was a real treat - I mean, everyone seemed to adore my dancing routine (some of them even joined in), and let’s not forget the incredible costumes! They made me twirl a million times!

The real highlight though? This delightful, quaint theater, it felt like a whole other world with its little stage lights and plush velvet seats! And let's just say the after-party was EPIC. The locals had gathered their hearts and created the most incredible feast! I have to say the custard tarts were definitely the best I had ever tasted - absolutely scrumptious! I danced for hours, a perfect whirl of pink magic amidst a sea of happy faces!

The best part about the entire experience was, I don’t know, maybe it’s the fact that I managed to spread a little sparkle to the kind souls of Dudley! Or maybe it’s because we created a little magic in a world that needed some joy! (Let’s be real – who doesn't need some glitter in their lives!?) And now, those magical moments will live on forever – in my memories, of course!

As a proper Dudley gal myself, it was a bit surreal seeing my Pink Tutu journey starting right in the heart of those cobbled streets of my lovely Black Country town.

Here's the thing, darlings! I just can’t get enough of exploring new places and I absolutely adore taking that Pink Tutu magic right into the heart of those little communities! It’s like my mission in life. The real journey of Pink Tutu Sparkles starts right there, in a town you never heard of, where I have the chance to share the sparkle, bring the light, the laughter and, of course, those wonderful pink tutu dreams. Oh, darling, this world is my catwalk, so keep checking www.pink-tutu.com for more stories, because this girl is about to conquer those pink tutu dreams, and that my loves, means traveling the world! Until next time, darlings! And always, wear that tutu proudly, right?! xx
