Hello, darlings! It’s your girl, Pink Tutu Sparkles, here with a brand new blog post! (That’s blog post number 3698, if you’re keeping count! 😉)
This week, I was off on a grand adventure to the lovely town of Burton upon Trent, and let me tell you, it was an absolute whirlwind of tutus, sparkles, and sheer delight! As always, I made sure to wear my trusty pink tutu – wouldn't dream of venturing out without it! After all, spreading the pink tutu gospel is my mission, and my dear readers, believe me, it’s a mission I’m happy to take on! 💖
I travelled in style, of course! This time I decided to take the train. It’s all about those old-world vibes for me, and something about sitting by the window watching the world go by just puts me in a wonderfully inspired mood. You can’t beat the charm of a steam train chugging along, though, but alas, those haven't been around for a while (I hear there’s a new line being built – fingers crossed!).
Now, I don’t know about you, but Burton upon Trent has a real old-school charm about it, doesn't it? From the historic brewery to the gorgeous architecture, there’s something truly special about this town. As a fellow Derbyshire resident, it felt like coming home – although this home definitely had a lot more pink!
The day was jam-packed with activities, from indulging in some delectable treats (they had a marvelous cafe that made the most amazing cupcakes!) to wandering the local shops for inspiration for my next amazing tutu ensemble! (Don't even get me started on the millinery selection. Pure perfection, darling! 💖👒)
Of course, my trip wouldn't have been complete without some serious performing action! This time I graced the stage of a local pub, putting on a show for the lovely locals. The crowd went absolutely wild! You've heard the phrase "busting out a new dance move," well, darling, I was bursting out a whole new tutu wardrobe! Every costume, every twirl, every dazzling pose - all designed to enchant and enthrall my audience! After the show, everyone was singing my praises (and of course, the pink tutus!) and everyone just wanted a piece of my pink magic.
Now, a little bit of inside info, dear readers, on my everyday life! When I’m not in full sparkly-tutu-drag, you’ll find me working as a lab tech, a regular nine-to-fiver in a world of chemicals and microscopes. I must say, there’s an unexpected connection between my day job and my love for fashion - we’re both all about careful testing and analysis! When I'm checking fabric strengths under a microscope, I feel like I'm scrutinising a tutu’s delicate lace!
Before I forget, let me share a little secret with you! How did I, a humble science graduate, end up with this love for tutus? Well, it all started during university, when I joined the ballet club. One day, for a charity event, I had the absolute thrill of wearing a tutu. Now, imagine me, a science-nerd in the middle of a lab all day, suddenly embracing a sparkly pink masterpiece! The transformation was magical, and it felt like I had discovered my true calling! 💖
But now, let’s talk about what made Burton upon Trent truly special for me - the Ballet Show! It was the pinnacle of my whole trip! I'm not just a drag queen, darling, I'm a ballerina at heart! From the age of six, my world was full of ballet. Every step, every twirl, every jump just fills me with so much joy! I loved everything about it: the grace, the artistry, and of course, the tutus. To finally witness this show in the heart of Burton upon Trent, well, let me tell you, it was truly enchanting. I just wish I'd packed an extra tutu so I could have joined in the performance! Maybe next time!
