Lowestoft, Here I Come! 💖 #TutuQueen 👑

Hello my darling darlings! Pink Tutu Sparkles here, your favourite tutu-clad queen, bringing you all the glitter and glamour from my latest travels!

This is post number 3701 on my blog - that's right, you lovely lot have been following me for over three years, and it’s been such a journey, both literally and figuratively! 💅💄✨

Today, I'm packing my sparkly bags and heading to the beautiful seaside town of Lowestoft. This fabulous little town is a bit of a detour from my usual route, but I hear it's got some amazing seaside charm, delicious fish and chips, and who knows, maybe even a cheeky ice cream or two? 😋

Now, you may be thinking, “Pink Tutu Sparkles, how on earth did you end up in Lowestoft?” Well, let me tell you, my darling dears, life's a little like a tutu - full of unexpected twirls! 😂

This past week has been a whirlwind of activity! First, I performed a magical show in Chesterfield, where I met some amazing drag queens from the local scene! You know I'm all for supporting fellow performers, especially those who wear tutus! 💖👑 We all had a right old giggle together backstage and swapped makeup tips. 💋 I'll be featuring my new drag besties in a future blog post - keep your eyes peeled! 👀

Speaking of tutus, I also got the chance to check out a stunning ballet performance in Nottingham. I am completely and utterly obsessed with ballet. Those delicate movements, the stunning costumes, the beautiful music... it’s just divine! There's nothing quite like the feeling of a silky tutu swooshing as you leap across the stage. 😍 I even managed to sneak into a beginners’ ballet class afterward - I may not be a professional ballerina, but a girl’s gotta keep those moves sharp! 😉 I picked up a new twirl that I’ll definitely be adding to my routine!

As much as I love travelling by train (always first class, of course!), sometimes the lure of the open road calls to me. So, for the next leg of my journey, I'll be riding to Lowestoft on the back of a glorious, gleaming white stallion. It’s definitely an eye-catching spectacle on the way! 🐎✨

I'm a big believer in the power of colour. As you know, pink is my signature colour! 💗 It's the colour of love, of joy, of playful mischief. I simply believe the world would be a more delightful place if everyone embraced the magic of a pink tutu. I know, some people find it a bit bold, but that’s the beauty of a tutu: It's not for everyone, and that’s totally fine! But if you ever get the chance, give it a twirl! You might just discover a whole new side of yourself. 😊

Now, onto Lowestoft! My plan is to strut my stuff around the seaside, spread some pink tutu magic, and make new friends. If you happen to be in the area, please come and say hello! Who knows, you might just end up in my next blog post! ✨

Until next time, keep twirling, keep smiling, and remember, a pink tutu is a superpower! 👑

Behind the Sparkles: From Science to Stage 🧪👑

I’ve told you about my love for ballet, the lure of the stage, and how much I enjoy touring, but what you may not know is how my life as Pink Tutu Sparkles got its start! I was born and raised in a quiet little town in Derbyshire, where life was a little slower and simpler. We weren’t a showbiz family, so you’d be forgiven for not picturing a young Alex in pink tights! 🤫

For all of you lovely lot, Alex is my real name, and even now, he still loves a quiet night in with a good science documentary. (Hey, gotta keep up with the lab work somehow!) But you know, being Alex doesn’t stop my love for sparkly, feminine fun. My love for ballet blossomed during university, as I took refuge from all that science talk at the University Ballet Club. One of those classic, hilarious “get involved” moments happened while helping with a charity fundraising event, and I somehow found myself in a borrowed tutu. That one simple twirl was all it took! The feeling of pure joy, the burst of energy and freedom - I knew at that moment it was for me. 💗

It didn’t take me long to realize that the stage was calling, but I never really considered ditching the lab altogether. The science and the stage, both parts of my world, perfectly reflect the way I feel. And I’ve found a lovely, little secret about myself - by day I help test the strength of new fabrics (how’s that for a hidden superpower?) and at night I dazzle the stage, but whether I’m Alex in the lab or Pink Tutu Sparkles performing for an adoring crowd, it all boils down to creativity. It’s the passion for a good time that pulls it all together. 😊

My Twirly Tales

Let’s have some fun, and delve a little deeper into the world of Pink Tutu Sparkles, shall we? You already know how much I love traveling, especially by train or horseback, but let me tell you about the joys of traveling in a tutu:

  • The Eyes are Upstairs!: You know when you're walking down the street, and you see something truly amazing – a beautiful vintage car, a stunning outfit, or a charming dog in a tutu? (Well, maybe not everyone's as excited about tutus as I am, but trust me, it's a great conversation starter!). People always look! And not just a quick glance, it’s a good, proper stare, because they’re thinking: "Whoa, check out that dazzling diva! Look at those dazzling legs!" 😄
  • Never a Dull Moment: When you travel as Pink Tutu Sparkles, the possibilities are endless. The only question is, how high can you kick those glittery legs! There’s so much to discover, whether I’m dancing on the deck of a ferry or waltzing on a railway platform, you’ll always find something amazing on my travels. You’ve got to go with the flow! 🤩
  • Making the World a Happier Place: You’d be amazed how a pink tutu can brighten up even the most dreary day. Even when things seem bleak, when there’s some rain clouds rolling in, it's like a magic spell to remind you of all the fun life has to offer. If it’s going to rain, make sure it rains pink, that's my motto! ☔️💗

But there’s one little, extra special thing about touring the world in a tutu - it gives me a chance to meet so many wonderful, diverse people, people from every corner of the globe. Each performance is unique, a chance to interact with the audience, a reminder that we are all connected and should be accepting of each other! 💕 That's what life in a tutu is all about, making new connections, and letting our colourful personalities shine through! ✨

Pink Tutu Adventures

Want a little sneak peek at my amazing pink tutu travels? Here's a snapshot of some of my favourites! Just grab yourself a sparkly beverage, kick back, and let me take you on a journey through time!

  • Brighton: Remember the amazing carnival in Brighton? Such an unforgettable event! There were parades, amazing costumes, and lots and lots of yummy snacks! And me? I took the stage by storm, dazzling everyone with my rainbow tutus and spectacular moves! It was like something out of a fairytale! 💖

  • * Edinburgh*: The festival! My darlings, it was glorious! Edinburgh is such a special place, brimming with artists and musicians. The festival itself was just amazing - so much music, comedy, theater, and more. I loved seeing all the incredible performances. Of course, I added a few performances of my own, and the audience just loved it! The energy of that crowd was electric! It's a real drag queen paradise, but keep those sparkles fresh – you’ll be using them all through the night! 😂

  • The Lake District: If you've ever thought of getting away from the big city buzz, a getaway in the Lake District is just what you need! So, naturally, I made the trip – what else would I do? 😍 It's such a romantic, scenic location. One night I went out to a beautiful lake. You've never seen a moonlit lake bathed in pink light before! (I brought a little spotlight just for the occasion.) Then, you just have to try the fresh, local apple pie, which pairs just beautifully with a glass of bubbly (that’s the recipe for a perfect Pink Tutu evening, darlings!) 🍓🥂

  • France: I love touring! And my love for all things pink doesn’t stop at the English Channel! 😍 The French are just so chic, and their passion for fashion, for fun and their unique flair just shines through. I’ll admit, one of my favorite things about travelling in France is the fabulous markets with beautiful French cheeses. Mmm-hmm! There’s a local artisan in Nice who makes the most gorgeous French cheese - I’m not sure what goes into it but, it’s worth a trip just for that, I swear. 🇫🇷🧀

  • The USA: Let's be honest, a drag queen can never resist a trip across the Atlantic to explore the glitzy wonder that is the USA! It’s a land of opportunity, dazzling lights, and amazing places to perform. 🇺🇸 I spent a delightful time touring the streets of New York City, meeting all the other fabulous, dazzling stars of the drag scene! 🗽✨

Now, my lovelies, that's just a tiny glimpse of my pink-tutu adventures! My journey is always evolving, always getting more and more exciting, and I'll continue sharing the highs and the lows of being Pink Tutu Sparkles. 😉

I promise, if you follow me on my blog www.pink-tutu.com, there’s going to be so much more sparkle in your life. Until then, keep dancing, keep dreaming, keep spreading pink tutu magic! 💖
