Stratford Upon Avon: Tutu Travels, Post 3746!

Helloooo darlings! It's your favourite pink tutu-clad queen, Pink Tutu Sparkles, and oh my, what a whirlwind of a week it's been! As you all know, I'm absolutely obsessed with ballet, and there's no place that embodies the magic of this art form more than Stratford Upon Avon. The birthplace of our beloved Shakespeare, it's also home to the Royal Shakespeare Company and some truly incredible theatre productions. Naturally, this little sparkly queen simply had to sashay her way there for a visit, tutu in tow!

Train Travels and Tutus:

Now, I'm a creature of habit. And that habit? Traveling by train! It's all about the romance, the journey, and of course, the fabulous opportunities for outfit changes! My journey started in my hometown of Derbyshire - so many wonderful memories from my childhood there, which makes it extra special to see my adventures across the UK. Once I stepped onto the train, I transformed! Pink sequined handbag, sparkly pink heels, and my signature pink tutu, naturally! And, you wouldn't believe it, but the fellow passengers were all so lovely! I swear, everyone was smiling and a little more lively! I can only assume the pink was catching. 😉

A Spot of Shakespearean Glamour:

Upon arriving in Stratford, I knew I had to check out the Royal Shakespeare Company theatre. It's steeped in history and has such a vibrant, exciting energy. They were holding a performance of Much Ado About Nothing and I absolutely couldn't resist. I love how Shakespeare plays combine witty dialogue with heart-wrenching romance, and of course, the costuming! The costumes were magnificent, all billowing fabrics and rich colors, and I couldn't help but get inspired for my own stage outfits! It just goes to show you, ballet and theatre are inseparable - they share a language of movement, drama, and, of course, sparkle!

The Ballet Shop and A Twirling Symphony:

As a true tutu fanatic, my next stop was the charming little ballet shop right next to the theatre. My darling! You should have seen the array of pink tutus! I couldn't leave without purchasing a gorgeous pink sequined tutu – the epitome of elegance! The shop owner even told me some fantastic stories about the RSC’s history and I even found myself singing some Shakespeare lines, though, I must say, with my own unique Pink Tutu Sparkles flair! I just knew I had to return there to watch the RSC’s next production, and to add to my collection of pink tutus, of course.

Shopping Spree, Ballet Class, and Tea Time:

No trip is complete without a little retail therapy, and Stratford did not disappoint. I wandered through the adorable shops and, as fate would have it, I found the most adorable pink ballerina figurines – a perfect souvenir! After an afternoon filled with shopping, I knew I needed some culture, and so, I embarked on a delightful ballet class! A perfect blend of graceful movements and sweaty elegance! (I did manage to twirl with impeccable form even though the class was rather fast paced for someone of my, shall we say, “mature” experience.) My dancing heart was completely filled with joy! Afterwards, what's more quintessentially English than afternoon tea? A pot of tea and a slice of cake (which I adorned with a pink sugar heart – never underestimate the power of a little sprinkle!) perfectly finished off the afternoon.

More Pink, More Tutu:

As the evening drew closer, I knew there was only one thing left to do. What’s better than a ballet performance? A ballet performance with a special guest: ME! I’d landed a slot at a local cabaret show, and you bet I gave them a pink tutu spectacular! They say you never truly know a city until you've danced in the streets, and as I danced with the locals in the town square, the only thing I felt was love, acceptance, and a whole lot of joy! I could have danced until sunrise, but even the most dedicated of ballerinas need some sleep. 😉

Onwards and Upwards!

Now, darlings, I'm off on another adventure. I'm heading to... I can’t say just yet! The only clue I'll give you is that it has to do with horses – yes, I ride as well! It wouldn’t be my style to do it without my signature pink tutu, naturally! As you all know, spreading the pink tutu love is my mission. I believe that every person deserves to feel glamorous, empowered, and, most importantly, confident! It’s a belief that gets me up in the morning, it’s what motivates me as a scientist, it’s what fuels my drag persona.

I hope my journey inspires you all to embrace the colours, express your individual style, and wear pink tutus proudly! Don’t be shy!

I’ll see you all very soon with another fabulous story from my pink tutu travels! Until then, stay pink, stay sparkling!

With love and tutus,
