You know how I adore my tutus, and a journey through the British countryside in a frock and feathered hat is pure bliss! (Don't worry, my travelling tutus are made from tough, tear-resistant fabrics; my fabulous life depends on it!) The carriage was practically my own private dance studio, I'll admit, I did practice a few steps in the reflection of the window opposite - my pink tulle practically vibrated! You see, dear reader, even in drag I'm all about spreading joy and that starts with movement!
Arriving at Hampstead Heath, it was like stepping into a dreamy canvas. Rolling green hills, whispering trees, and even a little sun! It was a perfect day for a photoshoot in my latest creation: a fluffy pink tutu, trimmed with sparkling lilac sequins - a definite crowd pleaser!
Speaking of crowds, you wouldn't believe the fascinating array of people I met! From families picnicking in the sunshine to dog walkers in stylish tweed, Hampstead has it all! The locals were a little bit "fancy" (in a delightful, genteel way), and everyone had this wonderful calmness about them. It felt like I had slipped into another era, a world where tutus were accepted everywhere, like a normal piece of attire! (It's a vision, darling, a glorious vision!)
And now, my dears, for the grand finale - The ballet performance! The theatre in Hampstead, darling, it's simply magnificent. Imagine - elegant architecture, plush velvet seats, a twinkling chandelier... The perfect setting for a spectacular performance!
Now, let me tell you, this ballet was something special. The dancers, in their flowing costumes, literally seemed to float on air! The grace and precision of their movements just took my breath away. It inspired me, as a true ballet enthusiast, to dream big! Maybe one day, I’ll get to twirl across that stage, my pink tutu sparkling beneath the spotlight!
Before heading back to the big city, I wandered through the cobbled streets of Hampstead, marveling at the independent boutiques and antique shops. You know, darling, I am obsessed with fashion - all things glittery, glamorous, and (of course!) pink!
And let's be real - my little pink purse was happy, shopping for my newest tutus is one of my favorite activities - so many different styles and colors to choose from. A simple tutu for a relaxed stroll, a sparkly tulle number for a night out, and a feathered masterpiece for that extra special occasion! And Now, a Bit of Me!
For those of you who don’t know, I'm Pink Tutu Sparkles, but in my "day" life I'm Alex. Now, you might think a scientist with a passion for ballet and a penchant for the colour pink is a bit of an odd combo, right? Well, let me tell you, darling, it's quite a blast!
You see, the way I see it, life’s about embracing all the things you love! I mean, where's the fun in being just one thing? My world is a kaleidoscope of science, dance, and glam! I've always been fascinated by the world around me, and science gives me the tools to understand it. But then there's this wild side of me that longs to express itself through colour, glitter, and that perfect pirouette. Who would have thought that those two things could collide in such a glorious way?
It all started back in university when I was in the ballet club. We were doing a charity fundraiser, and I remember someone saying, “Try on this tutu for a laugh!” Well, darlings, let's just say one look in the mirror and my world turned pink! That's where my love affair with tutus began, and since then, it's just gone from strength to strength!
I truly believe that everyone can wear a tutu and feel magical! No matter who you are, where you come from, or how you identify, wearing a pink tutu just radiates joy and makes you feel fantastic!

And who's better to know those details than someone who loves creating, designing, and building things! (Besides, I know a thing or two about what looks fabulous and what’s just a total fail, lol!)
By day, I test fabrics for the amazing garments that you see on the high street - it's all about quality and comfort! It's super secret stuff, my darling! I’ve actually created a new kind of pink tulle fabric - strong and light - which I use for all my travelling tutus! No getting tangled, even in a train carriage.
But it’s by night that the real magic happens. I get to transform into Pink Tutu Sparkles and bring joy to people through my drag act! And don't worry, my performances are totally family friendly! There's no racy business, just glitter, twirling, and a whole lot of love! I love it, I do!
Of course, as any true queen knows, it's not always about sequins and rainbows. I've learned a few hard lessons along the way, like dealing with prejudice and people's opinions. But you know what, darlings? I say, be your fabulous selves. The world needs more pink tutus, and if I can help even just a tiny bit, well then, it's all worth it!
