Kenton Calling! Post 3809 - Pink Tutu Sparkles Takes on the South East

Hello darlings! Your favourite pink-tutu-wearing travel queen is back with another sparkling blog post! This time, Iā€™ve shimmied my way down to Kenton, a lovely little town in the South East. I must say, Kenton has definitely got a certain something... like a friendly charm and a secret garden that even a drag queen could feel comfortable twirling around in.

Now, let me tell you about my journey. Instead of my usual gallop through the countryside on my trusty steed, ā€œPrincess Flutterā€, I decided to hop aboard a grand old train. I love the sound of the rails, the feeling of the old carriage gently rocking, and, of course, the chance to observe my fellow passengers. This time, I had a fellow theatre-lover in the carriage with me, a gentleman with a face full of beard and an absolute love of Gilbert and Sullivan. He was completely baffled by my outfit, but couldnā€™t help smiling when I pointed out that he and I both share a love for theatricality.

And what was I sporting, you ask? Why, my absolute favourite: a shimmering pink tutu! (The colourā€™s called ā€œPink Flamingo Sunriseā€ - very dramatic, donā€™t you think?) It was topped with a silk bolero adorned with pink roses. And just in case anyone didnā€™t get the message, I finished it off with my signature pink feather boa - an absolute must-have for any self-respecting Pink Tutu Sparkles performance!

Kenton was eagerly awaiting my arrival, and they did not disappoint! The town square was filled with an electric energy - all the locals came out to watch my arrival! My show, at the ā€œPink Elephant Theatreā€, was packed. There was a brilliant mix of people in the audience; grandmas who hadnā€™t seen a drag show since the 70s, young lads sporting colourful hoodies, and some even sporting tutus! I just love it when my pink-tutu-spreading mission is working!

It's always such a thrill to perform and bring some colour and joy to people's lives. Seeing the smiles on everyone's faces just makes me feel like I'm doing something really special. Itā€™s a wonderful reminder that pink tutus are not just for ballerinas - they can bring a touch of whimsy to any occasion, anywhere.

But what is a trip to Kenton without a touch of traditional English countryside fun? Of course, I couldnā€™t resist a visit to a delightful local flower shop! My latest obsession has been finding the perfect bouquet of roses to match my performance outfits. I always aim for a dramatic and elegant design. I like to match my bouquets to my mood. My recent pick has been a stunning bouquet of fiery red and crimson roses - just perfect for my ā€œRed Velvet Fantasyā€ number!

And letā€™s not forget the shops! You wonā€™t find many pink tutus in the windows, but Kenton is brimming with quirky vintage stores and antique shops that are just bursting with fascinating trinkets. You wouldnā€™t believe the selection of sparkly accessories I found: tiaras, brooches, and even a gorgeous sequined handbag!

One thing that truly enchanted me was Kentonā€™s beautiful local bakery, ā€œMrs. Perkinsā€™ Piesā€. Their cakes were just too cute! I indulged in a delicious strawberry and cream meringue cake and oh, it was heavenly! A perfect dessert after a busy day exploring. It was such a whimsical, delightful, little pink-tutu-worthy treat!

After a day of touring Kenton and meeting its lovely people, it was time for some serious rest. And I found a delightful place to spend my evening. The "Blossom Cottage" hotel was a true find. A cozy little place with a warm, inviting atmosphere and delightful gardens that would make any self-respecting pink tutu queen want to twirl and pirouette! And of course, a place that felt a world away from the hectic world.

I also enjoyed an impromptu ballets class at the "The Dance Academy". Their teaching was simply exceptional. They managed to transform the awkwardest steps into graceful, effortless moves. They even let me wear my favourite sparkly tutu to class - they just loved it!

My evening show was packed out. My ā€œPink Tutu Sparkles" persona came to life as I strutted across the stage, my dazzling pink tutu billowing around me as if a gust of pink-hued wind had swept through the venue!

Of course, no trip to Kenton is complete without mentioning its connection to the performing arts! As many of you know, Iā€™m an absolute sucker for ballet. The world of ballet is all about grace, artistry, and - well, more tutus! Kenton is lucky enough to host a splendid Ballet Theatre. You will absolutely love the place if you enjoy theatre with a touch of glitter and glamour! Of course, I went for a cheeky twirl at the theatre. Itā€™s like a whole different world, all pink velvet curtains, sparkling chandeliers, and beautiful ballerinas ā€“ itā€™s utterly fabulous! I even bought a ticket to their latest performance - ā€œThe Swan Lakeā€. And if anyone ever needs help deciding on a performance to see in Kenton, just drop me a line!

But as my time in Kenton drew to a close, a certain feeling of nostalgia tugged at my heart. It was time to say farewell to this enchanting town.

Iā€™m already daydreaming about my next trip! Who knows what enchanting little towns and bustling cities are next on the horizon? Wherever I may find myself next, my pink tutu will always be there with me. And who knows, maybe you'll find me pirouetting down a cobbled street, spreading my love of pink tutus one step at a time.

Until next time darlings!
