Hello my gorgeous girlies! 💋 It’s Pink Tutu Sparkles here, signing in from the beautiful town of Newton Aycliffe in County Durham. The sun is shining, the birds are singing, and I'm feeling all kinds of sparkly. Oh, and let me tell you, this town is giving off serious ‘90s-pop-star-meets-ballet-studio’ vibes. Don't you love when a town just clicks with your style? It’s almost as if the universe knew I was coming!
You see, babes, this week, I decided to take my Pink Tutu Sparkle tour on the rails! That's right, a train journey! It's a long story how my train-loving heart came about - a very dramatic, almost Shakespearian story, let’s just say it involved a lost ticket, a late arrival, and the most dapper station master you've ever seen in your life! (There were tears. A lot of tears. He even offered me a hot chocolate! That man, my darlings, is a gentleman.) Anyway, the train ride was the perfect way to soak in the views, admire the scenery, and of course, rock my new Pink Tutu Sparkle train travel outfit! Speaking of which…
Pink Tutu Travel Style: A Masterclass in Comfy Glam
For this trip, I wanted something chic yet practical - gotta keep my sparkly tutu pristine! So, picture this: a blush-pink knitted dress, a soft knitted cardigan, and of course, my signature pink tulle tutu! (Yes, the tutu stays, babes!) For an extra touch of glamour, I wore my chunky silver platform heels, they added a little height and some extra drama! Let me tell you, the looks I was getting on that train were divine! And I may have had to squeeze onto the seat at the end of the carriage a few times – these heels ain't for climbing over people, darlings!
Newton Aycliffe: Where the Pink Meets the Purple
Anyway, once I arrived in Newton Aycliffe, I was met with such warmth and excitement. I swear, I’d never experienced anything like it. There were pink bunting strung everywhere – it was practically my colours! (They'd even painted some of the lampposts in pink!) It turns out, I was in town for their annual "Purple Passion Week" festival, which is all about showcasing the talent of the town's artists and entertainers. My good friend - the glamorous Crystal Dream - called me, told me I needed to be there for a bit of theatrical cross-pollination and we could put on a fantastic joint performance! You know me, always ready to share the pink glitter! So, naturally, Pink Tutu Sparkles was ready to get into the groove!

I have to say, working with Crystal Dream was truly an honour! She’s all sass and sequins with a talent for storytelling - the two of us brought a dazzling new dynamic to the performance! Our act included a delightful mix of musical theatre, ballet-inspired dance, and yes, some good ol' fashion drag. It was all about pushing boundaries and celebrating the power of female expression - with a dash of pink glitter, naturally! We brought the house down!
Newton Aycliffe: From Stages to Shopping!
Of course, with my travels, it's never just about the shows! There are always places to explore! So, after a fabulous performance at the "Purple Passion" gala, I took a little wander down to the market square. The architecture, darling, absolutely beautiful. It had this mix of old-fashioned charm and contemporary vibes! (I got my hands on a fab vintage pin, gotta find something to wear it on!) But that wasn’t the only reason I ventured into town. No, babes, let me tell you, a pink-tutu-loving gal has to find a dress shop, don't you agree? Newton Aycliffe certainly delivered!
A Day of Glamour & Graze-ing:
There's a quirky boutique down by the clock tower - called ‘Dolly Dimple’. I found a pair of pink velvet ballet flats - perfect for all the twinkle toes, of course - and a darling baby-pink sequined shawl. (And I swear, the shopkeeper looked exactly like the Queen in "The Crown"!). They reminded me of all the amazing clothes from the era of 1990s - pink everything was HUGE! As always, my darlings, we never travel alone. We are always looking out for each other and taking care of ourselves. I felt a bit peckish and I swear there were 3-4 different bakeries selling incredible cake in just one small street! Don't worry, I didn't forget my travel snacks.

The day, it all flew by in a blur of pink sparkle and laughter. Oh, the fun! Oh, the laughter! And don’t forget the pink tutus, darling! That's what it's all about, you know, embracing your inner sparkle and shining your light out for everyone to see. It’s a testament to what I tell every one - be fabulous, embrace the pink and spread a little bit of that glitter love.
