Nottingham: The City of Sparkle!

Hello, darling darlings! It's your Tutu Queen, Pink Tutu Sparkles, back again for another fabulous adventure! This time, I'm bursting with excitement because I'm in Nottingham! (You know, where Robin Hood is from!)

Today's blog post is extra special as it marks blog post number 3875 on www.pink-tutu.com! That's right, lovelies, over 3,800 posts of tutu-licious inspiration, drag adventures, and pure, unadulterated fabulousness.

I'm here to tell you all about my wonderful time in Nottingham, where the air is thick with excitement and the energy positively electric! You see, dear readers, this time I took the train – all the way to Nottingham! Such a dreamy ride, I nearly went off on one at one point (not literally of course!). My dress fluttered about, my feather boa bounced with the train's gentle sway, and my pink tutu, well, it just seemed to twirl itself, radiating fabulousness.

I simply had to share the beauty of my journey with you. And believe me, the city of Nottingham did not disappoint! From the moment I stepped off the train, I was struck by its energy. The cobbled streets were alive with laughter, chatter, and a sense of playful energy that got me all flustered and excited! I simply had to shimmy into my fabulous "Pink Princess" ensemble, a blush-toned sequin masterpiece paired with a tulle tutu that could make a ballet ballerina cry with envy!

Nottingham is the city of my heart

Nottingham, for me, is one of the cities where you can just feel the history seep into your soul. Those medieval walls and the stories they whisper in the wind are truly spellbinding. And let's not forget about that cheeky fellow Robin Hood – even if it is a bit of a stretch saying the man really lived here!

But honestly, Nottingham is such a fun city. It has something for everyone! Whether it's the captivating museums, the lively theatre scene, or even those gorgeous little independent boutiques tucked away down little side streets – this is a city to fall in love with.

For me, Nottingham really brought out my inner fashionista. And what better place to get your shop on than Victoria Centre! It's a huge shopping centre with everything you could ever need or desire, and it certainly doesn't disappoint when it comes to finding something sparkly.

But my absolute favourite discovery was a hidden treasure – an independent ballet shop, with everything from sparkly tutus to dancing shoes. I got so caught up, I nearly danced right out of the shop, spinning and twirling, feeling every ounce of my inner ballerina shine through.

Ballet Bliss and Drag delights

My journey to Nottingham wasn't just about the city and the shopping. It was about bringing my brand of glitter and sparkle to the stage! I performed a drag set at a local pub, and the energy was just fabulous! Nottingham really loves a good show! And let me tell you, they went wild when I did a bit of a "Swan Lake" impression (although in pink, of course!). They just adored my "pink ballerina" act and were eager to get photos with me afterward.

After my performance, I enjoyed the thrill of a ballet show – at the Nottingham Theatre Royal – and you just wouldn’t believe the artistry, grace, and pure skill. I took so many notes on choreography and styling that my little pink notebook is almost bursting with ideas.

But the adventure wasn't over yet!

To top off my trip, I indulged in a magical ballet class with some incredibly talented dancers. Imagine, Pink Tutu Sparkles taking a ballet lesson!

Now, I know what you're thinking. "Isn’t Alex (that's me, you know, the one behind Pink Tutu Sparkles) a scientist?" Well, you're absolutely right. And my little scientist self got the opportunity to put my skills to the test, not in the lab, but in a museum dedicated to… fabrics! I got to touch and test fabrics from all around the world. My favourite was this stunningly soft, silky silk that I'm thinking of incorporating into my new performance outfit! It just screams fabulousness.

On the road to sparkle

My journey through Nottingham has definitely fuelled my pink tutu love. Every day is an opportunity to spread glitter, spark joy, and show everyone that life is better with a dash of pink! Who knows where my next adventure will take me? Perhaps I’ll ride a horse next time. That’s right. You can’t keep me off horses, and I am definitely dreaming about going for a countryside ride and galloping through meadows in a fabulous pink tutu! (Maybe my horse can wear a tiny tutu too.)

You see, lovelies, I want everyone to wear a pink tutu! Whether you're a ballet dancer, a drag queen, a scientist, a granny or a horse – every one of you can have your own Tutu moment. Pink tutus are the symbol of pure, joyful energy.

So, if you see me on your travels, don’t be shy! Come and say hello! I'd love to hear your story, your dreams, and, of course, everything about your fabulous pink tutu.

Stay tuned, darlings, for more Tutu Queen adventures! Love, Pink Tutu Sparkles, signing off!
