Hello my lovelies! Pink Tutu Sparkles here, back from a fabulous whirlwind trip to Cambridge, and let me tell you, it was utterly divine!

You see, ever since I first donned a pink tutu for a charity event at university (back when I was just plain old Alex, a budding scientist with a secret love for all things sparkly!), I knew my life would never be the same. The tutus have taken over, and frankly, I wouldn't have it any other way!

So, imagine my delight when I got a booking at a lovely little cabaret in Cambridge. I simply couldn't resist adding a couple of extra days to my trip - after all, Cambridge is a city steeped in history, full of charming cobbled streets and grand architecture! Oh, and let's not forget the world-famous Cambridge University, with its legendary colleges and a whole host of theatre and dance events! I practically danced all the way there on the train!

My journey began at Derby station, a perfect starting point for a dramatic "train ride" moment in my latest pink and turquoise sequined number. Now, my darlings, if there's anything I've learned in my years as Pink Tutu Sparkles, it's that the more dramatic the train station, the better the photos! Luckily, Derby Station is a real stunner with its sweeping arches and ornate details, providing the perfect backdrop for my signature twirls and a touch of whimsical sass.

And oh, the people on the train! You wouldn't believe the smiles and laughter I got, all thanks to my pink tutu. One elderly gentleman even called me "a breath of fresh air"! You can imagine my delight – it's my mission, you know, to bring a touch of pink magic into the world!

The journey to Cambridge flew by in a flurry of music, laughter, and well… lots and lots of pink. Once we arrived, I was immediately enchanted. Cambridge is simply breathtaking - a beautiful mix of old and new, ancient stone and vibrant life. We stopped first at King's College to see the world-famous chapel, and wow, it truly is as majestic as everyone says! I had to do a little dance there, naturally, with the magnificent gothic architecture as my stage.

From King's College, we wandered through the charming cobbled streets, passing charming independent shops, bustling cafes, and majestic squares - each one a perfect opportunity for a fabulous photoshoot. Let me tell you, my Instagram followers were absolutely loving it!

Of course, no trip to Cambridge would be complete without a visit to the Cambridge University campus. I've always dreamed of being a student at this esteemed institution, especially after I accidentally wandered into a theatre production and discovered my passion for ballet (in a tutu, naturally). While I may not have the time (or inclination) to be a student, I definitely embraced the "student" aesthetic! I popped in on a couple of ballet classes at the University of Cambridge's Dance Department, dressed, of course, in my most fetching pink tutu. I don't think anyone could tell I was a mere visitor!

Speaking of ballet, Cambridge had the perfect blend of culture and elegance. On a whim, we popped in to watch a performance of Swan Lake at the Cambridge Arts Theatre – oh, my dears, the dancers were simply incredible! All that twirling and leaping inspired me so much. It reminded me of the power of dance to tell stories, to connect us with the emotions, and to inspire us to fly! Of course, I had to make a small grand entrance during the intermission in my sequined "swan" tutu - everyone was so impressed!

Now, I can’t go to Cambridge without indulging in some proper English cuisine, can I? Luckily, the city's full of charming restaurants serving delicious home-cooked dishes. On our first evening, we treated ourselves to a sumptuous meal of roasted lamb, Yorkshire puddings, and a generous helping of chocolate pudding. A truly royal feast, wouldn’t you agree?

One of my favorite things to do when I travel is to just meander through the city streets. Cambridge didn’t disappoint! I fell head over heels with the charm of the Market Square with its beautiful historic architecture, and the bustling Saturday market was just brimming with interesting finds. You can’t visit Cambridge without taking a romantic punting trip down the River Cam. I did my usual bit of twirling for the passing tourists. I swear, that's what made the boat glide smoothly down the river!

Later that day, we took a scenic trip into the surrounding countryside. It’s easy to get lost in the quaint villages, picturesque farms, and serene natural beauty of this part of the world. Oh, and a lovely farmer gave me permission to use his horse and cart for a photo shoot! Isn’t that adorable? I’ve just been thinking, wouldn't it be lovely to be a travelling performer? The horse is ready!

Cambridge has a magical air, with an elegant yet relaxed charm that leaves a lasting impression on the soul. The people, the sights, the sounds, the colours – it truly is a captivating city! I fell in love with it, as you know, and I will definitely be back! I might even have to try a real Cambridge University ballet course next time. The tutus are packed and I'm ready!

And remember, darling, you can be a Pink Tutu Sparkles too! Wear your pink tutu, embrace your uniqueness, spread your joy and sparkle. Don’t forget to check out my photos and video diary from Cambridge at www.pink-tutu.com – until next time, my loves!
