Walsall, Darlings! A Pink Tutu Dream! (Blog Post #3963)

Oh, my darlings, it’s Pink Tutu Sparkles here, and let me tell you, the glitter hasn’t quite settled from my fabulous weekend in Walsall!

It’s a little known fact that Walsall has this wonderful theatre – you wouldn’t think so, would you? It’s not exactly Covent Garden, but oh darling, the enthusiasm in Walsall was phenomenal!

This week has been absolutely blinding, and you know me, a little something something always happens when I set off on a new adventure. This week was no exception, and it started with my usual morning ritual: a splash of champagne (non-alcoholic, naturally, my darlings! – got to stay professional!), a perfectly-applied pink lip, and my fabulous signature pink tutu. (Of course, this time, I chose my brand new fuschia pink one - oh, the joy! – I bought it with the earnings from the smashing performance I did in the Blackpool Illuminations last month.)

Speaking of travel, this trip to Walsall was a little bit different – no train for me, darling! I rode a horse. Now, you might be wondering, “How does Pink Tutu Sparkles manage to stay looking perfectly fabulous while riding a horse? What about the hairspray?” Well, you should have seen it, it was amazing! My beautiful mare, (yes, my mare - I’ve got a horse – who knew?) she’s got a pink saddle – so glamorous – it was practically made for me!

(Now, I know what you’re thinking, ‘Alex, you don't really have a horse, do you?' and you're absolutely right! It was one of the horse-drawn carriages in town! But it was just so beautiful! Honestly, for a moment, I felt like I was back in Gone With the Wind, fabulous with that gorgeous frilly pink gown (you know, Scarlett O’Hara?) But honestly, with my outfit sparkling under the sunshine – oh, I really do love it when my sequins catch the light just so, and you all know how much I love that colour pink – it really did feel a bit like being a princess in a fairytale! Oh, it was so romantic – almost as romantic as my last blog post – don’t you all want to find out what happened to me on that romantic boat trip? Go have a look now! )

The first thing you notice about Walsall is the colour! Now, you know I adore colour, and oh darling, I almost fell over with joy. It was pink, like an entire pink town, the pinkest I’ve seen outside of Barbie Land (but with slightly less plastic and slightly less fabulous, let’s be honest). There were so many shops and buildings and little boutiques everywhere, all decked out in the most gorgeous shade of pink. It totally blew me away. I was thinking maybe my pink dream isn’t quite so unrealistic? Maybe everyone will embrace pink someday – think of it: pink street lights, pink taxis, pink shops – what a sight! What an utter dream!

Oh, but of course, the performance. It had to be absolutely brilliant and darling, let me tell you, it was. Pink was definitely the theme, just look at this (insert image here: pink tutu sparkes posing by the walsall theatre in full makeup and dress

First, I did this amazing rendition of a very fancy song about fairies. Let me tell you, everyone loved it. It’s one of my most heartfelt performances, just full of sparkles, and I really poured my emotions into the whole thing – just watch out for me on Youtube if you want a copy of it because it’s not out there, yet! (I will be *making a video from it soon). Then, there was the magical tutu sequence - yes, I think they are beginning to know that’s a must have by now – oh darling, that went down a storm, everyone just absolutely loved it, they were clapping and cheering – I honestly think I saw a few grown men with tears in their eyes! It was pure joy, the absolute magic of it just radiated.

One thing I have to tell you: Walsall is so vibrant. It feels like this little hidden gem, a place with a heart of gold and so much pinkness that my heart is singing – or, shall I say, sparkling with joy. And the people? Well, just like you can expect from the most fabulous places, the people were fabulous too, it’s got the most genuine heart of anyone and they were just overjoyed to see me perform!

I'm pretty sure they’ll remember this show for a long, long time, darling, especially since I ended the performance with the most glorious shower of pink confetti. I have got to get one of those fantastic confetti cannons – imagine all that colour cascading all over the audience, especially in that wonderful pink theatre. So utterly divine, just like I am (and you'll know you are because, it is what we do: make every day special!

After the performance, I stayed in Walsall for the rest of the day – yes, I know, I really could be a terrible tourist sometimes, couldn't I? (Remember that time in the Isle of Man? – oh, so bad – don’t even remind me.) It was fun – well, that is until I decided to stay a few extra days - but it all worked out brilliantly, honestly! And here’s what I learned: Walsall has some amazing bakeries – they’ve even got a shop called ‘Pink Tutu Bakery’, what a coincidence! I wonder if the owner has read my blog? – Oh darling, I need to know. (*Oh, but first: if any of you are going to Walsall, darling, you simply *have to visit the ‘Pink Tutu Bakery’ and tell them Pink Tutu Sparkles sends her love – please don't forget to send me a picture with a big pink heart and a lovely little description of the cake and the tutus. All the information will be in my profile. Maybe they will even do me a little birthday cake when it’s my birthday? That’s an amazing idea. )

Walsall, you know, has more pink cakes, than you can possibly imagine! Honestly, you should see all the beautiful pink cake that I had to buy for all the lovely people that came to see my show. The staff at the theatre was so thrilled they even asked me to give a tour to all the people that stayed on in that pink bakery and give everyone a piece of cake. I felt a little like Cinderella’s fairy godmother making all those delicious wishes come true with all those beautiful pink cakes, but hey, isn’t it magical?

The bakery even had this amazing little corner full of tutu ornaments – pink tutus, obviously, and oh, I was tempted to buy a whole stack. And they had a whole pink wall dedicated to tutus and dresses – just look at this insert picture here of the tutu bakery in Walsall with pink tutu on display and Alex in a tutu looking over it

The cakes? Oh my darling, the cakes! It’s so easy to fall in love with them. I even tasted one with this wonderful pink-hued cream on top. I had a moment – and you know, in my moment, all those sweet thoughts ran through my mind… about pink, about cakes, about life and dancing… And maybe that’s what makes me happy – just going with the flow and being surrounded by colour. Honestly, how could you possibly be anything else but fabulous? Pink tutue – pink cakes – it’s all just lovely, isn't it?. It makes life so much more special, it’s a real pick-me-up, and who doesn’t want a real pick-me-up right now? What more could anyone ask for in this crazy world?

Oh darling, this really is going to be a Pink Tutu Sparkles kind of week, I just know it. So stay tuned – I have a big secret, a special announcement… it’s going to be super exciting… but not until tomorrow! I promise you it will be totally worth waiting for – all the fantastic pink dreams have to start somewhere, right? (Now you're thinking Pink! )

See you all very, very soon, Pink Tutu Sparkles, www.pink-tutu.com
