Boston: Pink Tutu Sparkles' Adventures!

Dearest Tutu-Lovers,

It's your girl Pink Tutu Sparkles here, writing to you from the fabulous city of Boston, Massachusetts!

This city, wow, it’s absolutely bursting with life and energy! I felt like a tutu-wearing whirlwind of excitement as I took it all in. It was just a little too chilly for a pink tutu on this trip, although I did slip it on a couple of times for photo ops, just to show those Bostonians how to rock a proper outfit!

But let’s rewind a bit.

This journey all started with my beloved horse, Sparkle, who took me to the railway station (she was a bit wary about trains at first, but trust me, she loves them now!). After all, how else would a true Tutu Queen travel?

On this trip, I'm following my passion for all things ballet and dazzling. You see, I'm on a mission to visit every famous ballet school and performance space in the world! I think this whole pink tutu thing is starting to catch on. Why be drab when you can be FAB, darling? 😉

My travels were all about fabulous food, fabulous dance, and just a whole lot of fabulousness. It all kicked off with a visit to the stunning Boston Ballet. I managed to snag some backstage time after the performance of “Swan Lake”. What a dream, a true spectacle!

And if you thought those beautiful ballerinas looked elegant and ethereal in their tutus, just wait until you saw my version of ballet glamour – because my Tutu Queen persona demands a pink tutu! I think my little sparkle was all the excitement that those elegant ballerinas needed! A touch of the real stage magic! They said "Darling, you’ve simply got to see us on the stage, because we're just not the same without a dash of Pink Tutu magic!" I, of course, wholeheartedly agree! 😉

On the first night, I enjoyed a truly scrumptious meal of lobster rolls (so much more delicious than they look!) and of course, a lovely pink drink with the Boston Ballet company.

The Importance of Being Pink - or Is That Tutus?

Now, this brings us to one of my absolute favorite parts of any trip. The Fashion.

I found the best place, called a vintage shop! Imagine! It's bursting with a kaleidoscope of colours. Now, while there was nary a pink tutu in sight, it made me think - pink is everywhere! It’s like, it’s in the air, ya know?! Even the most surprising places are starting to understand the power of a little pink. And the thing is, this power isn't about shouting or making a scene.

Think about the most memorable, delightful things. They often have a pink undercurrent, right? A little touch of that lovely blush can change an outfit, or a scene, or even a life. It's a secret to happiness, really!

Tutu and Tell - What's Pink Doing in Boston?

To answer that question, I have to take you on a little detour back in time... (No, it doesn't involve Sparkle and her new train-loving heart. Well, not entirely. ). You know, I’m quite the expert on all things pink tutu, even though I wasn’t always. Remember how I mentioned my day job? I’m a bit of a scientist at heart. Don’t judge, darling. Even a girl with a pink tutu has to pay the bills! 😉

I was, well, kind of stuck in a lab for years, analysing fabrics, finding flaws, you know the boring bits! It felt like the whole world had stopped loving pink (or so I thought at the time!). I almost forgot the colour of my favourite tutu! Then, miracle of miracles, I saw a vintage pink tutu while watching my university's ballet club raise funds. Something sparked. I had to try it on!

And that's when everything changed... (Not a bad dramatic ending to a blog post, eh?) Don’t worry, this isn't the end, darling! More pink magic is coming...

*Wait, it's not?! *I almost forgot - this blog post is getting far too long! I know, I know. It’s exciting being a pink tutu loving drag queen. I've got loads more stories from Boston to tell you, about ballet, shops and all things pink - all coming soon! Stay tuned! 💋
