It feels like just yesterday I was a nervous student in Derbyshire, fumbling with a science degree and wishing I could spin across a stage in a fabulous pink tutu. (Now, that's a dream come true!). My pink tutu obsession began, as many such things do, with a good old-fashioned charity event. Back in uni, I joined the ballet club (don't judge! Even science students have a softer side!), and during a fundraising drive, they dared me to try on a tutu. The moment that sparkly pink fabric touched my skin, I knew – this was my destiny!
Now, I don't just wear a pink tutu; I live in a pink tutu. Pink is my lifeblood, my inspiration, my...well, you get the idea! So, back to Prestwich! This week, I’m rocking the Northern scene, travelling in style – by train of course! There's nothing quite like gazing out of the window as the countryside whizzes past, all while imagining the glamorous gigs waiting for me at the end of my journey.
This week's trip is especially exciting because Prestwich is steeped in history, and what could be better than bringing my fabulousness to a place where tradition and flair can merge? The cobbled streets, Victorian architecture, and buzzing markets are a true inspiration. I can practically hear my fabulous dance routines echoing through the lanes and my bright pink tutu adding a touch of glam to the locals’ afternoon tea!
Speaking of routines, my act is always a kaleidoscope of energy, and I'm pulling out all the stops for my Prestwich performance! Expect ballet, contemporary dance, theatre, and – of course! – plenty of those incredible, twirly, pink tutu moments that you just can’t get enough of.

This weekend is set to be packed! There’s the traditional Saturday market with all its delights – local produce, handcrafted jewellery, and more, of course, the chance to chat with the lovely locals and get them inspired about all things pink! And of course, there’s the performance at the Theatre, oh darling, this one is going to be an absolute spectacle! The setting itself is glamorous enough, but with my flamboyant costume, theatrical performance, and the energy of the crowd – it's going to be an experience you won't forget!
As for the performances themselves, I always like to keep them fresh, engaging, and most importantly, fun! It’s a celebration of individuality, self-expression, and pure joy. The beauty of being Pink Tutu Sparkles is that I can be anyone I want to be – a majestic ballerina, a playful clown, a whimsical fairy, a rock-and-roll rebel. It's about pushing boundaries, challenging expectations, and most importantly, sharing my love of colour and creativity with the world!
