Oh darlings, it's your favourite pink-loving, tutu-wearing, sparkle-flinging queen, Pink Tutu Sparkles, here, and guess what? I'm off on another grand adventure! Today, I'm headed to Consett, a charming little town in County Durham, and let me tell you, this little sparrow is fluttering with excitement.
Now, I know what you're thinking - Consett? What's so exciting about a town with a name that sounds like it could be a cough medicine? But trust me, darlings, Consett is a hidden gem! This charming little town has a heart of gold, a friendly atmosphere, and some seriously delightful independent shops – perfect for finding a little something pink, naturally.
But before I get all caught up in the retail therapy, let me tell you how I got here. You see, Consett called me to its shores – a charming request for a performance at a lovely little theatre! It’s such a thrill to perform for these communities, connecting with them through music, laughter, and – you guessed it – a sprinkle of pink tutu magic! And when you’re a queen with a passion for pink, performing in the beautiful countryside, what else is there to do but hop on a train! Nothing screams “pink tutu adventure” like a journey aboard a train, with the scenery flitting by in a rainbow of hues and the rhythm of the tracks guiding me towards the show. I must admit, there's just something so theatrical about the whole experience - imagine, darlings, all the possibilities for dazzling outfits! The possibilities for fashion on a train, with all those interesting characters and little nooks to accentuate, it’s almost enough to make you want to do a little twirl!
Consett is about a two-hour journey north from Derbyshire – which makes me miss home a little! My gorgeous home, the little cottage in the village where I grew up – surrounded by meadows and whispering trees, is so peaceful! Even now, my favourite day is a trip back to Derbyshire, where I love nothing more than popping into one of the quaint tearooms in a nearby village. Of course, a little pink tutu always manages to squeeze itself in – for that added touch of fabulousness, obviously!
Oh, and before I get sidetracked reminiscing, remember those exciting days at uni? That's where my pink tutu passion really took flight. Remember, I told you about those lovely evenings in the ballet club? We were rehearsing for a charity performance, and when the director needed volunteers for a “ballet under the stars” dance piece – well, they knew just who to turn to! The moment I put that first pink tutu on – a vision in sparkling chiffon – the magic just started! It's all I ever dreamed of and, before you know it, it was on stage under the stars and the pink tutu craze was officially underway. And I still have that tutu, a reminder of the magical moment it all started – tucked away safely in my little treasure chest. You see, it’s so exciting – as a science student back then, my world was a wonderland of test tubes and chemical equations – then suddenly a vibrant dance of sparkling colours took over, a symphony of beauty. And you know what, the journey hasn't stopped. From lab coats to stage lights, it's a transformation from one colourful world to another – and that’s how I embraced the double life.
Today though, I’m on the move to Consett and with my little notebook at the ready for fashion tips. Did I mention I'm on the lookout for new pink tutu creations? It's my mission, you see, to share the pink tutu love with the entire world, to make sure every woman, girl, and everyone in between, embraces their own unique flair – and with the pink tutu, of course!
As for this journey, I can tell already this adventure is a real heart-fluttering treat! And, of course, the Consett audience can expect a sparkling, flamboyant show filled with dazzling costumes (naturally with a sprinkle of pink!) and energetic dance numbers. This performance is all about joy and good vibes, with just the right touch of sassy humor and captivating choreography – it’s sure to leave everyone sparkling like stars in the night sky!
After the performance, we're going to have a bit of fun exploring Consett's local gems, tasting the delectable cuisine (maybe a delightful scone with jam and clotted cream – yum!)
