Hello darlings! It's your favourite pink-loving, tutu-wearing drag queen, Pink Tutu Sparkles, reporting live from the utterly charming city of Wellington, New Zealand! I'm still buzzing from my adventures here and simply have to share them with you. As always, the latest instalment of my travels is a tale of fabulous outfits, fabulous performances, and a whole lotta fabulous pink!
Now, you might be wondering how a girl like me, with a heart as pink as my tutus, ends up halfway across the world. Well, darling, let me tell you, it's all about the love of travel, the passion for performance, and, of course, the thrill of sharing the wonder of tutus with every single soul I encounter!
The journey itself was an absolute delight! I'm a bit of a traditionalist when it comes to travel – I simply adore a good train ride or, for something truly grand, a long and elegant horse-drawn carriage ride! For this trip, though, I opted for a modern marvel of travel – an aeroplane! It felt quite glamorous, honestly, like I was a character stepping out of a technicolour film!
Wellington itself is an absolute dream. From the moment I stepped out of the airport, I was mesmerized by the vibrant streets, the charming cafes, and the stunning harbour views. You just can't help but be swept away by the beauty of it all.
My mission? Well, it's simple really. Spread the pink tutu gospel! The more, the merrier, as they say! This week has been a whirl of exciting opportunities – from performing at a charity gala with the local ballet company (can you believe it? My childhood dreams coming true!) to hosting a fabulous afternoon tea at a charming hotel, complete with delicate finger sandwiches and mountains of delicious cakes! I mean, what’s a tutu queen without a little afternoon tea?!
Of course, no trip would be complete without some much-needed retail therapy. I simply adore shopping, and Wellington did not disappoint. I found the most divine pink boutique, tucked away on a cobbled side street. You can imagine my delight when I discovered a perfectly pristine vintage pink tutu nestled amidst the racks – absolutely meant to be!
I'm telling you, darlings, life as a pink tutu wearing drag queen is a joy! There’s no better feeling than seeing the smile on someone's face as I waltz on stage, all pink sequins and feathered fans, radiating joy and sheer, unapologetic fabulousness! My favourite part of my Wellington performances? Watching the audience get completely swept up in the magic of my show! Even the most reserved folks, the ones who shy away from the limelight, end up letting their inner-sparkle shine through! I truly believe everyone has a little Pink Tutu Sparkles hidden inside, waiting to be unleashed.
I must confess, my adventures haven’t always been glamorous! The challenges of life on the road – finding the right pink sequins in a dusty vintage shop, adjusting to time zones, figuring out how to pack a 10-foot tutu for a long train ride… let's just say I’ve had my share of hilarious mishaps! But the best memories, the moments that truly warm your heart, are often the unexpected ones, right?
Like that time, for example, I stumbled upon a street performer with a surprisingly well-trained parrot, decked out in… you guessed it – a little pink tutu! It was just so charming! Honestly, these days, you just never know what you'll encounter!
But before I bore you with more tales of my colourful travels, I need to share with you the true purpose of this adventure. It's not just about the pink, the sequins, or even the amazing performance opportunities (although those are all rather lovely!) No, my true mission is to share the joy of tutus with the whole world! Whether it's on a dance stage or just out and about on a Tuesday afternoon, there's simply no reason why we can't all wear a pink tutu!
