Cambridge: A Fairytale Trip in Pink Tutu Sparkles

Hello darlings! It's your favourite pink tutu-wearing diva, Pink Tutu Sparkles, here with blog post number 4167, live from the glorious city of Cambridge! Oh, it's just heavenly - all those ancient colleges, the River Cam, the beautiful gardens, it's truly magical, and all wrapped up in the most delicious historic charm. Just a warning, prepare for a gushingly positive post – Cambridge simply charmed my little tutu-loving socks right off.

Now, you might think Cambridge is just for academics and historical enthusiasts. And of course, they have their place. But trust Pink Tutu Sparkles, there's so much more to this delightful city! The moment my train pulled into the station (which, of course, was on time, because let's face it, who ever missed a train in the UK? Never a diva! Ha!), I knew this was a place made for pink tutus and dancing.

Speaking of which, I just had to start my Cambridge adventure with a visit to the Cambridge University Ballet Club. Remember those first tutus I fell for when I was in Uni? They sparked this whole tutu love affair, and you know what? The dancers here are just incredible! It’s great to be able to connect with my inner tutu queen while I'm out on the road, finding amazing clubs and seeing the incredible talent across the country. I swear, I'm practically ready to sign up for a ballet class myself, it was so inspiring!

Later that day, it was onto a horse-drawn carriage for a romantic trip around Cambridge. A bit more of a glamorous form of transport than usual for this pink tutu diva, but you know me, I like to mix things up. The gentle clip-clop of hooves, the fresh air, and the stunning backdrop of the old buildings – it was simply divine. Honestly, who doesn’t love a horse-drawn carriage? My outfit – my new “Strawberry Sunset” tutu and a feathered pink fascinator with little tiny bows, and those pink ballet shoes that match, was the perfect pop of colour against the soft pastels of the afternoon sun. We made our way along the River Cam, past King's College and the historic bridges, all while I dreamt up my next performance in a fantastical fairytale land with a castle and horses!

A lovely local recommended I go for a riverside picnic. I'm not afraid to admit, I got myself a massive cream tea – those little sandwiches are just too much to resist – and indulged in the glorious, sunny weather. The best part? People were simply lovely. A lady walking her dog came to chat to me about the tutu, and two little boys who'd been watching the carriage stopped for a selfie! It just made my day.

Now, for those of you who haven’t visited Cambridge – a big hint – do it! This city is full of beauty, history, and delightful surprises around every corner.

But that's not all, dear friends! This was just the beginning of my Cambridge adventures. Later in the week, I explored the colleges and found an amazing little theatre with the most gorgeous little costume shop. We’re talking all the fabrics, lace, and sparkly trims to fuel my creative genius! It's not every day you can visit a city bursting with history, find a charming theatre, AND fall in love with some fantastic fabrics all in one go, isn’t it?! I simply had to grab a few new treasures to whip up a dazzling new outfit for a fabulous evening of dancing.

Naturally, a trip to Cambridge wouldn't be complete without a spot of shopping, so off I went to explore the streets filled with independent shops, boutiques and art galleries. Let me tell you, darling, those independent shops have the best clothes, shoes, and jewelry! And you know me, I love finding that special little something! This time, I managed to get my hands on a gorgeous floral vintage hat – the pink one, of course! – and a stunning pair of coral pink shoes with the cutest tiny butterfly decorations on them, just perfect for a princess’ afternoon.

Oh, I just had to get myself a picture with the adorable pink pig statues that dot the city streets! I know it sounds silly but how could I not? Those little piglets looked like they needed a Pink Tutu Sparkles cuddle. They had the pinkest, most adorable pink faces, you’ve just gotta see it to believe it!

Speaking of pink, my next big mission in life is to turn Cambridge – and every other town – pink with tutus. What better way to share the joy and glamour of pink tutus than by creating a community of pink tutu-loving souls? I'm planning a big tutu parade with all the residents dressed in pink, tutus fluttering in the wind, the Cambridge skyline will be a truly delightful scene. Can you picture it? It'll be amazing, truly. Maybe I'll invite the lovely ballerina students to join in! It's time for the pink tutu revolution to sweep the nation! Now, what better city to kick it off in than in beautiful Cambridge!

Until next time, my lovelies, don't forget to find your inner Pink Tutu Sparkles. I’ll see you soon with another travel update!

Stay sparkly and glamorous, darlings!

Love and Glitter,
