This time, I’ve sashayed my way down to Essex, specifically to the delightful town of Hornchurch. Oh, you know me, I love a good jaunt by train, particularly when it involves a stop at the wonderful M&S in Romford - they have the best pink cupcakes!
Now, before we dive into the gloriousness of Hornchurch, let's take a moment for me to swoon over the journey itself. Trains are just so civilised, aren't they? Especially when you’re perched in a window seat, gazing out at the countryside with a book, some Earl Grey, and a miniature pink tutu perched adorably on your head. (That’s me, in case you couldn't tell.)
Yes, travelling in my finest is definitely a Pink Tutu Sparkles specialty! It adds a dash of whimsy to the mundane. (No offense to mundane things – mundane is lovely in its way! We're all about balance, darlings.) Speaking of balance, I'm in top form thanks to a glorious ballet class I squeezed in before heading to Essex. Did I tell you about the adorable little tutus I found for the students in the beginner's class? Pure pink perfection, and only a fiver each! Don't be fooled by the price – it's all about quality over quantity, darlings! I swear, every time I pop into a ballet shop, I leave with at least a handful of little pink delights. There's something so magical about these miniature tutus; they make my heart just skip a beat!
Right, back to the main event! The Hornchurch performance was a hoot. You wouldn't believe the crowd - families, friends, and even a couple of adorable couples looking awfully smitten! It's always such a joy to perform for an audience that truly enjoys a touch of whimsy. The Hornchurch crowd really embraced the whole pink-tutu vibe! I was showered with enthusiasm - cheers, whistles, even the odd 'Pink Tutu!' shout - it was truly delightful!
One lovely lady even stopped me afterwards to tell me about her niece who, thanks to seeing me in a local paper, was now obsessed with pink tutus and wanted to be just like me. Well, bless her cotton socks! She looked positively angelic in her own little pink confection – absolutely darling! These moments are the reason I do what I do, you see. Sharing my love for pink and inspiring joy, it's truly the best thing ever!
This whole 'get everyone in a pink tutu' mission of mine just keeps growing bigger and brighter! And Hornchurch really delivered on the pink front. Not only did the auditorium itself have an adorable pink curtain (talk about making a statement!), but there was even a local artisan selling handmade pink tutus! They were absolute treasures, every single one - different styles, colours, patterns - there was a pink tutu for every taste. As a Pink Tutu devotee, how could I possibly resist?! (The answer is: I couldn't!)
The good news is, I picked up a couple for myself (can you ever have too many pink tutus?), and a beautiful sparkly one for my little friend 'Sparky', the daughter of the artisan! Such a kind and talented young woman. It seems this love for pink tutus truly crosses generations!
Now, before I dash off to explore some of Hornchurch’s delightful local shops, a quick rundown on why you should be here, darling! The historic architecture is a dream, particularly Hornchurch town centre with its beautiful St Andrew’s Church, and a local bakery that smelled of heavenly pink frosted cupcakes. Honestly, I couldn’t resist indulging!
Also, for all you animal lovers, there's Havering Country Park. Now, a Pink Tutu Sparkles adventure isn’t complete without a touch of equestrian excitement! I'm currently debating whether to ride a horse through the park (always a bold, feminine choice!) or just stroll around, snapping Instagram-worthy pics in my pinkest pink tutu! Either way, Hornchurch, you have truly captured my heart!
