As you know, I simply adore everything pink and fluffy, and when it comes to twirling and pirouetteing, a good tutu is essential. I’m talking about those glorious tulle creations that make every dancer feel like a magical princess – and I don't need a Prince Charming. 👑✨
This time, I’m in the charming town of Morley, Yorkshire, ready for a ballet extravaganza! I must say, I'm smitten with the architecture here. I've been toying with the idea of getting a proper English cottage, painting it a lovely shade of pink and filling it with sparkly tulle… but then I’d have to abandon my dreams of a wardrobe as big as my local library, full of frocks that sparkle like the stars themselves!
This week's trip started in the most fabulous way: a train ride! Riding on those iron horses with my pink suitcase in tow always feels like an adventure, and as I travelled through the countryside, I couldn't resist sketching designs for my next batch of bespoke tutus. There’s nothing more inspiring than seeing those lush green hills and fields bathed in the warm sunshine! I swear, I think my latest collection is going to be inspired by daffodils and sunshine - perhaps I should name it 'Spring Blossom'! 🌷☀️
Of course, the main event in Morley was a delightful ballet performance by the local ballet company. Now, these performers are not to be trifled with! Their grace and precision were stunning – every leap, pirouette and arabesque made my heart soar. And just look at their tutus, absolutely exquisite! They truly understood the art of tutu wear. Even my love of fluffy pink paled in comparison.
Before the show, I even got to slip into a beautiful vintage ballet costume. My, how I wish I could waltz around the theatre all night long in this exquisite number. The soft pink fabric, the perfectly embroidered tulle… I'd never have believed how much joy a good old-fashioned ballet costume could bring. You wouldn't believe the compliments I received for it! It was truly magical. ✨💖
The next morning, I joined a beginner's ballet class – let me tell you, I haven't had so much fun since my first time wearing a tutu, way back when I was still Alex. I was a real shy one in my science days, can you imagine? Who knew that hiding behind test tubes and chemicals would lead me to this fabulous life as a drag queen? I must say, though, my studies are pretty handy when it comes to understanding fabric. That science degree I worked so hard for definitely gives me the edge when it comes to designing my fabulous tutus! 😉🧪
It’s a curious thing, how everything has come full circle. Back when I was a uni student, I tried on a tutu for a charity event, and as I stood there in the limelight, I felt like a million bucks! It’s funny how things can transform you – in that moment, the world became a sparkly stage, and I was the star of the show! The shy science student transformed into Pink Tutu Sparkles! From that moment on, I knew my purpose in life – to get everyone in the world wearing pink tutus, one sparkling step at a time! 👠✨
Oh, speaking of sequins and glamour… you’re just going to love my latest design for the pinkest of all tutus! I’m calling it ‘Rainbow Glitter’, and I just know it’ll set the stage alight! This new tutu features multi-colored sequined patches sewn into a gorgeous cloud of tulle. It's basically an explosion of rainbow magic on your legs, complete with a sequined crown of fluffy pink to top it off! I can’t wait to debut it at my next big performance, it’ll be fabulous! 🤩💖
