Strood: A Pink Tutu Adventure! 🩰✨💖

Hello darlings! It’s your favourite Pink Tutu Queen here, bringing you another delightful diary entry from my travels, straight from the whimsical world of glitter and tulle. Today, my fabulousness is gracing the charming town of Strood in Kent. Yes, you heard right – Strood! This post is a whopping #4301 for my fabulous Pink Tutu Chronicles! It’s a wild ride keeping up, but let me tell you, my dearies, the journey has been as sparkly as my new sequinned gloves.

So, where to start? I’ve had such a splendid time since my last blog entry. My latest performance was absolutely electric! It was at the fabulous “Flutter and Flourish” annual village fair in Little-Something-or-the-other (such a cute name, darling!). I’m pretty sure I sent a flock of pigeons sky-high with my energetic performance of a medley of “Les Misérables”, mixed in with a dash of ABBA and a little bit of Spice Girls - all in the name of fun and a fab pink tutu!

You know me, my lovelies, I love a bit of theatrical drama in my life. But it’s not just about the sequins and the sashay, although, let’s face it, they are rather wonderful.

The heart of the matter is spreading joy – spreading the pink tutu magic, one fabulous performance at a time. You might be surprised, my dearies, to know that it’s a little bit tougher getting bookings as a drag queen in Kent than it was in, say, London. There’s a real gem of a community here, so friendly, you could hug the local post office!

But sometimes the “smaller” venues mean bigger fun! Why? Because it’s always so exciting for me to completely rock the place. Let’s be honest, there’s nothing quite like making those who think that they’ve “seen it all” come rushing back for seconds! You can always tell when they get the Pink Tutu bug! Their eyes get a little sparkle, they start wiggling to the tunes... it’s contagious. That’s why I call myself The Pink Tutu Queen, because I'm spreading my joyous brand of magic everywhere I go.

I arrived in Strood a couple of days ago, and already I’m in love with this quaint little place. I was particularly mesmerized by their beautifully painted church; it really screams vintage chic! The quaint market squares with their unique artisan stalls, the quirky tea shops tucked away on the side streets – oh, the vintage treasures! You could be forgiven for thinking you were transported back to the good old days! I even spotted a bakery that makes these incredible raspberry swirl cupcakes, the size of my head! Needless to say, they didn’t make it to the station – I demolished those bad boys within minutes!

Speaking of which, travelling by train was divine this time. The views were incredible as I gazed at the countryside scenery flashing by – it was as if I were starring in my own pastel-hued fantasy! Of course, I had to dress the part, naturally – a lilac silk scarf tied perfectly around my signature pink tutu (the original Pink Tutu Queen outfit!). That vibrant hue really made my whole ensemble! I am, after all, a walking ode to the joys of everything pink, from my flamboyant makeup to the twinkle in my eyes!

This trip is particularly exciting because Strood is home to one of my absolute favourite ballets - "The Dance of the Stars", it was so graceful and majestic! It was the first ballet I saw with my Mum, back in my younger days in Derbyshire - it's still a highlight of my year, a cherished annual tradition that connects me to my childhood memories and my enduring passion for all things elegant and enchanting! This time around, I was treated to an exclusive performance by the very talented 'Ballet Elegance'. Oh, my darling! Such poise, such finesse - I had to rush out afterwards and buy tickets to their latest ballet extravaganza!

The ballet always ignites an intense urge to shop for tutus. And yes, dear friends, I know you're thrilled to hear about it! And Strood has been positively bursting at the seams with beautiful pink tutu options! One particularly magnificent, vintage-inspired tutu store even held a special Pink Tutu workshop, specifically for fans of the Pink Tutu Queen - that's me! I can't believe it was only for me! Well, they said it was - and my ego loves it! It was magical and I even made new friends. Isn't that just fabulous? Now, tell me about you... are any of you out there brave enough to embrace the glorious world of the pink tutu? It's time to shine your light and revel in your unique magnificence!

But I can't forget my day job. After my exhilarating performance at the fair, I spent some time testing fabric at the lab – don't worry, no lab coats in sight! It was actually rather interesting – testing how silk blends held up against colour change and, oddly enough, water droplets! As a scientist, it's a privilege to be part of the cutting-edge innovations, it makes my brain spin! But it also reinforces how truly important it is to keep a touch of glitter and sparkle in everything that you do. Because frankly, darling, if science can't even stand a little dose of magic, what can?!

So, there you have it, dear friends, another glimpse into the fantastic life of the Pink Tutu Queen. Every day is a magical adventure, brimming with excitement and laughter, reminding us that even amidst our daily routines, a little sprinkle of whimsy, pink, and of course, a fabulously flowing tutu can transform our lives! I can't wait to see what's in store for the next day... Stay tuned! And remember, keep spreading that Pink Tutu love! It's a fabulous world out there, darling!

XOXO
