It’s Pink Tutu Sparkles here, ready to sprinkle a dash of glitter onto your Tuesday morning with a post bursting with…you guessed it… pink!

And tutus. Because let's face it, what's a Tuesday without a fabulous tutu, eh?

Today's adventure finds me twirling through the streets of Pinner, a charming town tucked away in the outskirts of London, much like a sweet little pink bow tucked neatly in a hair bun.

Before I dive into the glitzy details, let’s take a moment to revel in the pure joy of train travel, shall we? It’s been my favoured mode of transport since forever, ever since I swapped the Derbyshire countryside for the city life (except for the odd magical moment riding horseback – more on that later!).

Speaking of the countryside, my childhood was a swirling explosion of fields and flowers, all bathed in a symphony of birdsong and…drum roll… pink! Even back then, pink was my absolute favourite colour. The colour of magic, of dreams, of pure unadulterated sparkle. Who knew, those early years of chasing butterflies in my very own hand-stitched pink tutu would lead me to a life dripping with glitter and glamour?

Now, back to my adventure in Pinner!

Arriving in this picturesque town was like stepping into a postcard. Quaint shops with twinkling window displays (how else could I get my sparkle fix!), cute tea rooms that smelt divine, and…a ballet school!

Can you imagine the sheer glee of a drag queen with a tutu obsession stumbling upon a ballet school? My inner child screamed, squealed, did the splits – you name it, I did it! Now, I know you’re all thinking what I’m thinking… “pink tutu!” Right?

So, of course, I couldn't leave without popping in for a peek. I mean, it would be rude not to, right? Turns out, they had a fabulous display of pink tutus. I swear, a piece of my soul skipped a beat and went "tut-tut-tutu".

A kindly woman behind the counter saw the look on my face and asked if I was a ballerina. I gave her my best, most angelic "tut-tut-tutu" giggle, shook my head, and blurted out, "I am a Pink Tutu Sparkles, my dear!" Let’s just say, her eyes popped wider than a startled butterfly, which, by the way, was an utterly fantastic sight.

We got to talking and discovered our mutual love for the beauty of ballet, the intricate costumes, the storytelling through movement. You know, the stuff that makes my drag heart sing! She even gifted me a charming little pink satin ribbon adorned with a silver ballerina. Talk about making a Pink Tutu Sparkles’ day!

After indulging in a delicious cream tea (tea with an enormous dollop of pink clotted cream, naturally!) in one of Pinner’s quaint tea rooms, it was time for a quick ballet class at the school. My tutu twirling skills were put to the test (spoiler: a bit rusty!), but oh the joy of leaping and pirouetting amidst other dancers!

I must tell you, there’s nothing quite like dancing in a pink tutu, you feel invincible. Like you could fly. It’s like channeling all the feminine energy, the confidence, the beauty – and just exploding it into a glorious pirouette.

Now, let’s move onto the pièce de résistance of this Pinner trip…

Speaking of sparkles, let's get real, behind this glittering persona, there's an everyday scientist named Alex, living the dual life of tutu-loving drag queen and… fabric tester. Yes, you read that right.

While my day job may seem a million miles from a stage adorned with feathers and sequined tutus, the reality is, the magic happens right where you least expect it. In my lab, amidst swirling beakers and complicated machinery, I'm not just analyzing threads and fibers. I'm working on creating innovative fabrics that sparkle and shine with that perfect shimmer! It's all about pushing boundaries, breaking molds and bringing my personal flair into the world. My scientific mind, my scientific tools... it’s all about creating the perfect texture, the perfect flow for my favourite garment: a pink tutu.

It’s my passion, and the beautiful thing is that it all connects, from my love of dance, my need to be creative, and my day-to-day job. I bring that passion into everything I do. I’m an unstoppable force of tutus and scientific discovery, baby!

I know what you're thinking, "That’s Alex, Pink Tutu Sparkles." But in truth, Alex is just a stepping stone to Pink Tutu Sparkles. This pink-loving drag queen is where I shine brightest! My ultimate dream? A world where every single person dons a pink tutu, not for just a day, but every day! And in case you’re wondering, this fabulous, pink-filled life all started back when I was just a regular student in Derbyshire. Remember those years of studying for my science degree?

Well, alongside dissecting frogs in the lab, I found solace and joy in dancing. The university had this fantastic ballet club. One evening, at a charity event, I got all dressed up in a beautiful pink tutu, felt the silky fabric swirl around me… and I just knew! This was it! I was hooked. I knew this drag life was for me.

Ever since, it’s been a magical whirlwind, full of glitter, fabulous people, and oh so much pink! I'm a dreamer. A twirler. A glitter-obsessed scientist. But most of all, I'm a drag queen on a mission – a mission to make the world sparkle a little brighter, one pink tutu at a time!

And if that’s not something worth blogging about, I don’t know what is!
