Frome, Frome, Frome - What a Gem! (Blog Post #4361)

Hello my lovely Tutu Twirls,

Well, darlings, this Tutu Queen is in Frome! Yes, you heard that right, your favourite pink-clad, tutu-obsessed drag queen is waltzing her way across the South West. It feels like only yesterday I was twirling my way around the cobbled streets of Edinburgh, but here I am, in another charming little English town, ready to spread the gospel of pink and glitter!

But let's be honest, you all know I can't resist a bit of train travel, right? It's all about the journey, darling. Getting to Frome was an absolute delight. I settled in with a book of ballet sketches, a pot of Earl Grey, and a pair of hot pink headphones (a girl's got to have her music, right?), watching the world whizz past in a blur of rolling fields and charming little stations. It felt like stepping out of a fairytale, the sunshine peaking through the clouds and the countryside looking especially crisp. I think it’s the pink tweed coat and the sequined tights that did it - I've got a real knack of making any place a bit magical! I tell ya, you just gotta have the confidence, darlings!

When I finally arrived in Frome, the town centre buzzed with life - the perfect backdrop for my new Pink Tutu adventure. The architecture is beautiful - imagine red brick, quaint shops and those cute little cobblestone alleys that make me want to dance through them in my fabulous tutu! And let's be honest, there's not a better place for some impromptu "ballet street". I must say I gave the tourists a few gasps, but as I said to one kind old lady after I finished my grand jete': "Why not make the most of life and embrace a little sparkle?"

Speaking of sparkle, this town is practically dripping with it, full of independent shops, charming boutiques, and art galleries. Now you know I love a good browse for vintage fascinators and that perfect, whimsical tutu! You just know I picked up a few little treasures for my next performance - a lilac satin bomber jacket, some feather boas in emerald green and hot pink, and a vintage velvet scarf to drape dramatically around my neck. This town really does have the most gorgeous pieces and if you're looking for that perfect finishing touch to any ensemble, look no further than the shops of Frome!

Then there was the theatre, darling! I saw the most spectacular performance of "Giselle" last night. Oh, those tutus! Absolutely glorious, perfectly crafted to float and twirl with the graceful movements of the dancers. I even met one of the principal dancers after the performance - the most lovely girl! She even told me all about the hours she spends perfecting each and every performance. What dedication! Now you know I had to snap a selfie with her - It's in my new pink velvet photo album - along with all the other stars I've met!

You can't travel all over the country on charm alone, darlings, though! My trip wouldn't have been complete without a gig or two, so this week I've got myself a few performances in the area - a school gala, a charity fair, even a birthday bash. All those beautiful little tutus are just waiting for a place to twirl and my aim, as always, is to bring the magic of pink to every last person in Frome! It’s a responsibility I don’t take lightly, you know? My main purpose is to spread joy and inspiration with each twirl of my dazzling tutus, so be warned, Frome - you’re in for a real pink explosion in the coming days.

Speaking of explosions, my trip to Frome has truly been an absolute joy, but sadly, I’ll have to say goodbye to its enchanting atmosphere soon. The magic of Frome isn’t the only thing I'm bringing home with me - I also have my newest addition to the Tutu Queen collection - a stunning crimson vintage hat with an oversized, feather trim. I just couldn't resist. You know how I am about all those colours! It’s perfect for my next big performance - a theatrical production in the Cotswolds! My life really is an endless adventure - all thanks to my love for dancing, travelling, and, of course, those gorgeous, pink tutus!

So, until my next stop on the Pink Tutu Tour, keep sparkling!

Stay fabulous!
