Hello my gorgeous girlies! It’s your Tutu Queen here, ready to take you on another whirlwind adventure! Today's blog post marks number 4462 (yes, I’ve been keeping track since day one!), and it's a doozy. I'm taking you all the way to the heart of Dudley, a town that's surprisingly glamorous once you delve into its hidden depths. 😉
Right, so I arrived in Dudley, not with a glamorous limousine as you might imagine, but on a charming old steam train. There’s something so magical about chugging through the countryside, especially when you’re rocking a pink tulle tutu that billows like a cloud in the breeze. 🚂☁️
Dudley was calling me to perform at the annual Spring Fayre. You know me, a true Pink Tutu Sparkles diva can’t resist a fair! I just love the bright colours, the candy floss, and the opportunity to get the crowds dancing!
Before the main event though, I couldn't resist a visit to Dudley’s historical attractions. First, I had to experience the awe-inspiring Dudley Castle! I imagined myself in a romantic historical film, striding through those majestic grounds. The history just oozed out of every stone wall and crumbling archway, and I swear I even saw a couple of cheeky pigeons dressed in Elizabethan costumes. 😂
Afterward, I explored the mesmerising Dudley Canal Tunnel. A beautiful tunnel lined with brickwork that, in its heyday, connected Dudley with Birmingham. As a science buff, I was completely mesmerized by the history and engineering that went into its creation. There's a magic about hidden passages and tunnels that always captivates me! It was just perfect for inspiring a few pink tutu dance moves in the dim lit, brick tunnel – let me tell you, it was the most elegant and graceful waltz I’ve ever done. ✨
Next on the agenda was some serious retail therapy. My love of sparkly outfits is well documented. (Just take a peek at my collection in the studio. 💎💖 ) And Dudley didn’t disappoint. I found a whole shop dedicated to glitzy dresses, beaded necklaces, and even a few pink tutus – perfect for adding to my collection! You’d be amazed at how much I’ve managed to stuff in my travelling suitcase.
The evening was finally here, and my stage at Dudley’s Spring Fayre was calling! The crowd buzzed with excitement, ready to enjoy the traditional games and amusements, delicious food stalls, and the big finale – me, the Pink Tutu Sparkles! ✨
Now, let's be honest, it wasn't easy squeezing into that shimmering pink tutu after a day of exploration! But with a little determination and a helping hand from my trusted drag friends, we pulled it off! (Gotta have a fab support team to survive life as a Pink Tutu Sparkles.)
My act, a sparkly, dynamic explosion of colour and charisma, brought the whole fair to a standstill. As I pirouetted, shimmering, on the makeshift stage, with a hundred or so spectators mesmerised, I couldn't help but feel a huge rush of joy and pride. You know, it’s those moments that make everything worthwhile – spreading sparkle, joy and joyful confidence all in one fabulous pink tutu. 💖
I danced the night away in Dudley. Even though it was far from the glitz and glam of London’s West End, the town embraced me and my infectious enthusiasm with open arms. I left a little piece of Pink Tutu Sparkles magic in Dudley that evening and felt the overwhelming desire to return to its streets with a brand-new show, new shimmering pink tutus and more fabulous surprises!
Of course, the evening couldn’t end without a delicious slice of Dudley’s famous Black Country cake, and I made sure I had enough for the journey back to my hotel, where I tucked into some delicious, fluffy custard cream cakes with my drag mates. 😉
After all, every good pink tutu queen deserves a sweet treat or two. Especially when there's so much more adventure awaiting!
