Hello, darlings! Your favourite Pink Tutu Sparkles here, back with another dazzling post from the road! Buckle up, buttercups, as we're about to embark on a fabulous journey to the enchanting city of Carlisle, tucked away in the heart of Cumbria. This adventure has been a whirlwind of sequins, smiles, and of course, plenty of pink tutus!
Let me start by saying, travelling to Carlisle was an experience in itself. I chose to take the train, a journey through picturesque countryside, a lovely change from the usual hustle and bustle of the city. With a bit of luck, I even spotted a magnificent stallion grazing in a field - such a sight for sore eyes! It made me ponder - why do horses look so fantastic in tutus? I mean, they’ve got that graceful gait, that flowing mane, they’re built for it! chuckles
Upon arriving in Carlisle, I was instantly captivated by its charm. Imagine cobblestone streets, quaint shops bursting with local treasures, and the majestic Carlisle Castle looming in the distance – simply enchanting! And of course, no trip to Carlisle would be complete without a visit to the Theatre Royal! It's an absolute beauty – full of grandeur and history. The atmosphere there was electric, perfect for my Pink Tutu Sparkles show, and the crowd was wonderful, full of energy and smiles. They even went wild when I did my little twirl in the air after landing a triple pirouette!
The beauty of performing at the Theatre Royal isn’t just in the atmosphere – it's also in the connection you have with the people. I love meeting all kinds of people, from little tots getting their first taste of live theatre to seasoned ballet aficionados, all sharing their passion for art and performance. Honestly, seeing those kids light up with excitement during my show makes my heart melt. Every time, I get reminded why I do what I do!
Of course, no trip is complete without some fabulous shopping, wouldn’t you agree? Carlisle's bustling high street was the perfect hunting ground for some gorgeous additions to my wardrobe. I snagged some delightful vintage fabrics for my next costume creation - something with a bit of sparkle and perhaps a dash of lace? My head’s bursting with ideas, can’t wait to bring them to life!
As always, I found a great selection of local boutiques with the most delightful handmade trinkets and one-off pieces, a bit of whimsy for my pink-tutu-obsessed self. Imagine: tiny tutus for my collection, beautiful pink beaded necklaces, and a whole assortment of glittery things that are guaranteed to make even the most mundane outfit sparkle. Honestly, I am never going to be able to fit all my pink-tutu paraphernalia back into my suitcase!
Speaking of tutus, one of the most charming things about Carlisle was the welcoming and warm atmosphere. Everyone I met was so kind and encouraging! After my performance at the Theatre Royal, a lovely couple even complimented me on my "fantastic pink tutu" - my heart soared! That's what it’s all about, darling, inspiring people to embrace their individuality, to be fearless, and to wear their heart on their tutu. (If you get my drift, wink wink).
Before I set off to explore more of Carlisle, I stumbled upon this cute little dance school called The Dance Centre, right by the bustling market square. Now, I know I said I wasn't planning on any more dance classes this month (who am I kidding, my love for ballet is all consuming), but when I saw that sweet ballet studio, well, how could I resist? Turns out, they were hosting a "Tutu Tastic" fundraiser in aid of a local charity. Naturally, I jumped at the chance to put on a show for a good cause - twirling for charity is my kind of fun! And let me tell you, those Carlisle children were incredibly enthusiastic, and they absolutely nailed their "Tutu Time" performance. Oh, the future of ballet is in good hands!
As the sun began to set, casting a beautiful pink hue over the Carlisle skyline, it was time to say goodbye. My trip to this beautiful city was a true delight, and I know it's only the beginning. Carlisle, you've captured a little bit of my Pink Tutu Sparkles heart, and I promise to return for more magic!
