Wrecsam Sparkle: Post 4497

Hello lovelies, it’s Pink Tutu Sparkles here, ready to share my latest adventures! Today's post is coming to you straight from the heart of Wrecsam, a place with a lovely old-world charm and a vibrant cultural scene!

Now, my darling dears, I’m not just a drag queen with a penchant for pink – I'm a full-blown travelling artist! And by that, I mean my latest trip was not by car, not by plane, no no no… this time I opted for the classic, majestic, absolutely fab mode of transport – a train! And oh my, wasn’t it just divine? So elegant, so graceful, it almost reminded me of a ballet performance – if you can imagine a ballet performance that smells slightly of biscuits and involves lots of people in a slight panic trying to squeeze their luggage into overhead compartments!

Of course, I had my very special pink-hued travel case with me. The interior is actually a marvel of organised glamour. One half is my full costume kit with enough glitter and sequins to blind the sun, the other side holds my trusty collection of ballet shoes and tights. The whole thing’s perfectly colour-coordinated (pink of course!) and features a big pink glitter ball that spins at the press of a button… for those special moments on the platform when I just need to sparkle. It's absolutely divine, you should see it!

Anyway, I was ready to spread a little sprinkle of pink-tutu-licious fun in Wrecsam!

The town itself is just beautiful! Think cobblestone streets lined with charming little cafes, quirky independent shops overflowing with trinkets and treasures, a stunning castle looming on the hill – it's like a real-life fairytale! The people are lovely too – super friendly, always ready for a laugh.

Now, Wrecsam is a real hotbed of theatre and culture. I’ve been lucky enough to attend two amazing events!

The Wrecsam Pantomime: A Triumphant Ballet Journey

Firstly, a delightful trip to the newly opened Wrecsam Grand Theatre. This iconic building is truly breathtaking. The architecture is just superb - think ornate plasterwork and massive glittering chandeliers - truly giving you the full stage and glitter experience! And inside, the air crackles with a special energy – like it's about to burst into a full-on ballet extravaganza.

My absolute dream – I actually met a lady who was working on their upcoming ballet production! Can you imagine?! Talking about the beauty of dance, the magic of a tutu and…well, just all things beautiful really. We got into such a deep conversation that I almost missed the panto. But thank goodness I managed to dash to my seat before it all started.

Speaking of pantos, oh my stars! What an utterly fabulous time. The whole theatre was overflowing with excitement and laughter, from the moment the curtain went up to the final, spectacular finale. A mix of ballet and comedy - this pantomime had it all - from silly jokes and fabulous music, to a sprinkle of pure ballet artistry. There was a moment, when the lead ballerina did a particularly difficult pirouette, that the entire audience held their breath … it was absolutely stunning.

If I'm being honest, I got a little lost in the sheer magic of the performance and forgot all about snapping pics, I was just lost in the world of the panto. But trust me, you just had to be there – the magic, the atmosphere, the sheer joyful energy …it was everything a little Tutu Queen dreams of!

Street Dance Performance: Unleashing the Inner Tutu Queen

My trip to Wrecsam was absolutely jam-packed with fabulous fun, and my next stop was something completely different. You know I love a little street dance – a chance to connect with other passionate artists, let my inner performer shine and just dance my heart out!

So, I popped into the centre of Wrecsam to check out a street dance competition! I can tell you this right now: the sheer talent I witnessed there was simply mind blowing. Every move, every hop, every kick told a story… it was almost as expressive and full of meaning as a ballet!

I have to say, one performance stood out above all. It was a beautiful, fluid mix of ballet and hip-hop! Just so imaginative and totally gorgeous, I just had to run up to them after, a big cheesy grin plastered on my face! They even asked me if I'd join them for a photo-op - I was wearing my big pink tutu, you can’t exactly say no to that.

Speaking of tutus…I have to say, this whole Wrecsam trip just really sparked an idea, and it's all about colour and… you guessed it!… Tutus!

Imagine a world where we’re not afraid to express ourselves – to put on a tutu and simply embrace the magic. My darling dears, wouldn’t that be truly glorious? Well, that’s my vision, and I believe Wrecsam gave me the first steps to making it happen. It’s time to get Pinkified!

Get the Look:

For my journey to Wrecsam, I've got a new super sparkly tutu, just perfect for my "pink-and-shine" aesthetic! I got it in a beautiful vintage store (of course!), it's made with shimmering iridescent pink fabric and features loads of dazzling embellishments - including pink-tinted gems. You betcha, I also whipped up my favourite blush-pink hair and makeup combo. Because darling, it's all about the pink. It's so glamorous, it’s literally making a splash!

And to top off the look, I opted for a simple, classic, comfy pink dress – a must-have in my travelling wardrobe. It's versatile and flattering for all shapes and sizes. Think elegant and flowing with a delicate rose-print. And oh yes, a super stylish pink-on-pink accessory (a cute pink handbag) to tie it all together.
