Coalville: Pink Tutu Sparkles takes the Stage!

Hello darlings! It’s your favourite tutu-loving drag queen, Pink Tutu Sparkles, and welcome to blog post number 4568! Today’s adventure took me all the way to the charming town of Coalville, where the excitement was simply electrifying. Honestly, I had the most amazing time! And yes, I was wearing my trusty pink tutu, naturally.

Now, let’s rewind a little. Getting to Coalville was an adventure in itself. It felt so right to arrive by train, the rhythmic clickety-clack of the wheels against the tracks mirroring my own bubbly spirit. I adore a good train journey – it’s a chance to people watch, daydream, and of course, make a dramatic entrance, complete with a flourish of my tutu and a generous wave to fellow passengers.

When I’m not touring as Pink Tutu Sparkles, I’m Alex, a lab-dwelling scientist who spends his days testing the tensile strength of fabrics (though I suspect a lot of my lab mates think I'm the most tensile thing around!) It's the complete opposite of my glamorous nights, but hey, you need a day job to fund those pink tutu dreams!

The real truth though, my love for pink tutus is a story all of its own. You won’t believe this, but it all began while I was studying science. Yep, a real scientist! (though you’d never know from my penchant for glitter). The university had a ballet club, and one year they had a charity fundraising event where everyone got to try on tutus. Let's just say the universe saw a sparkly light in that pink tutu and the rest, as they say, is history!

So, imagine my delight when the opportunity to perform at the Coalville Festival popped up. It’s the kind of vibrant, energetic community event that screams 'Pink Tutu Sparkles!' I just had to be there, radiating joy and reminding everyone about the magic of a pink tutu!

And what magic it was! There I was, shimmering under the summer sky, surrounded by the happiest people, sharing my passion for all things sparkly. It’s a real treat to watch the smiles grow wider when I twirl – the sheer joy of colour and movement, it's infectious! I have to say, even my own inner child gets caught up in it!

Before the Coalville show, I couldn't resist a bit of ballet practice at the local dance studio. Honestly, how could I resist? After all, even Pink Tutu Sparkles needs to brush up on her moves every now and then. And those beautiful studios, with their big mirrors and warm wooden floors, just beg for a twirl. My inner ballerina was having a ball, and the owner was so welcoming and lovely, sharing her own stories about the joy of dance. I've even got a hot tip on a fantastic new dance school in nearby Loughborough - fingers crossed they're open to some Pink Tutu Sparkles magic.

Once my dance practice was done, I headed for a shopping spree, naturally! A girl has to keep her wardrobe stocked. Let me tell you, there's no shortage of fabulous outfits in Coalville - from vintage shops full of delightful treasures to independent boutiques with cutting-edge styles. The highlight? Discovering a quirky vintage store that sold the most fabulous array of sparkly shoes! It felt like the universe was giving me a personal style award just for entering.

But I wasn’t just out to satisfy my own fashion cravings. One of my goals, aside from sharing my love for sparkly fabulousness, is to inspire everyone to embrace their own inner pink tutu spirit. Think about it, isn't there a touch of pink tutu in everyone, waiting to burst forth? We all have something that sparks our inner joy, whether it's dancing, singing, painting, or baking delicious cakes. And sharing that with the world is a beautiful thing. So go on, let your pink tutu fly!

But my journey didn’t end there, oh no! I always try to weave in a little theatrical experience wherever I go. This time, I found myself entranced by a captivating street theatre performance featuring dazzling acrobats and colourful costumes. I could hardly believe how captivating it was - the perfect mix of artistic flair and theatrical magic. Seeing how those performers effortlessly flowed with the energy of the audience made my own performance nerves disappear instantly. There's so much I could learn from their artistry and grace, it really makes me want to find new ways to engage with my own audiences.

In fact, if you happen to be around Leicestershire soon, let’s create some magic! You know where to find me - always a whirling dervish of pink tulle and positive energy. Just keep your eyes open for the most sparkly spectacle in town!

Oh, and one more thing! I know I always end my posts with a plea for everyone to embrace the magic of a pink tutu, but this time I have something a little special in store.

To all the fabulous folks in Coalville, you've filled my heart with sparkle! Let’s keep this magic going - post a photo of yourselves wearing a pink tutu (even a borrowed one will do!) and share your Pink Tutu Spirit with the world using the hashtag #PinkTutuCoalville!

Let’s spread some tutu love and keep the world sparkling. I’ll be here, spinning and twirling, waiting for your next Pink Tutu adventure. Until then, stay fabulous, my darlings!

Love always,
