Bournville Bound! Post #4630 💖

Hello my darlings! Pink Tutu Sparkles here, fresh from a whirlwind trip to the charmingly named Bournville! You might be thinking, “Bournville? What’s so sparkly about a chocolate factory town?” Well, honey, I’m here to tell you, it’s all about the magic you bring to the experience!

This journey started with the delightful whirring of a train engine and the clickety-clack of wheels on the tracks. I absolutely adore train journeys - the way the world goes whizzing by, the anticipation, and the sheer joy of sipping tea while wearing a fabulous pink tulle frock! Speaking of fabulous, I had to whip out my newest pink tutu creation for the occasion: a cascade of sparkling pink tulle layers, adorned with fluffy white pompoms and shimmering sequined butterflies. You can never have too much sparkle, my darlings, and trust me, it brought a much-needed dose of sunshine to the somewhat overcast sky outside my window.

Reaching Bournville, I was immediately enchanted. There was something so whimsical about this place, with its Victorian-era chocolate factory architecture and charming cobbled streets. Imagine if Willy Wonka decided to make a quaint English village - that's the vibe I got! And what better way to experience the place than on horseback? Now, I know what you're thinking: "Pink Tutu Sparkles on horseback? Surely not!" Well, my dear dears, I have a penchant for surprising my audiences. You might recall my earlier adventures with a Shetland pony on a sunny afternoon at the Yorkshire Dales – well, my equestrian abilities haven't dulled. And, I was a vision of pure girly-girl grace on that gorgeous bay mare, trust me!

The Bournville attraction that drew me there wasn’t the chocolate, though that’s definitely a bonus (who could resist a trip to Cadbury World, right?), it was the Ballet of Bournville performance, a celebration of the iconic Cadbury Bournville brand’s 100 year anniversary. Now, I’m not just your average pink tutu queen. I'm a huge ballet aficionado – I live for graceful leaps, fluid movements, and a story told entirely through dance. I had to see this performance, and honey, it didn’t disappoint! It was an enchanting production that danced its way into my heart, from the graceful moves of the principal dancers to the enchanting set design that truly brought Bournville to life. And, what was better, they’d invited some ballet street performers to the event, some incredibly talented people dancing in costumes reminiscent of Victorian England and using their bodies to show the growth and development of Bournville from it's early days as a company right through to present day.

After the show, I spent some time wandering around the village. This place was made for dreaming! The streets, lined with houses designed to resemble those of medieval villages, seemed to transport me to a bygone era, and the aroma of cocoa floating through the air was divine! You can’t take a walk in Bournville without grabbing a bite, especially a delectable homemade hot chocolate at one of the local cafés, or maybe, just maybe, I'll indulge in a bit of fudge or chocolates from one of the village's many artisanal sweet shops! After all, who doesn't need a little bit of chocolate in their life?

That evening, my fellow performers and I found ourselves performing a magical show in the local pub garden, a celebration of dance, music, and pure glitter! It’s so much fun bringing the Pink Tutu Sparkles magic to new places, spreading the message of positivity and love, all wrapped up in a pretty pink package! The crowd loved it – all those sparkly, bright colours! You should see how they reacted when I pulled out the massive multicoloured sequined boa for my final song. It was, dare I say, utterly fabulous!

As I boarded my train back to Derbyshire, my heart filled with the joy of the journey, I realised that it's not always about where you go. Sometimes, it's about the experience you create, the people you meet, the stories you share, and the sheer amount of pink tutus that can fit on one small stage. Because honey, remember, the world is a giant stage waiting for us to sparkle on it!

Until next time, stay fabulous, my darlings, and wear that pink tutu with pride! And remember, every single one of you has the power to be the star of your own show!

Love,
