The audience was phenomenal, showering me with cheers and, to my absolute delight, some even attempted their own tutu twirls! I must admit, my heart skipped a beat when a group of teenagers shouted "You're amazing, Pink Tutu Sparkles!". It's moments like those that remind me why I do what I do. It's all about the joy, the laughter, the sparkle!
After the show, I popped into a fabulously flamboyant shop. Imagine, darlings, rows and rows of sparkly pink dresses, shoes in every colour imaginable, and enough glitter to cover an entire city. I swear, I spent hours there, dreaming of future performances and how I could combine the fabulous outfits with the most glorious, perfectly twirling tutus! My dear, this was retail heaven, and it almost rivalled my own dressing room!
You know, I love exploring the world, and it feels like every city I visit embraces the magic of tutus just a little bit more. Wellington is no exception. Just today I saw a young girl, barely taller than a cupcake, pirouette down the street with a pink tutu as bright as the summer sun. You know what that means? Speaking of secrets, here’s a little known fact about me: I have a rather unorthodox path to the world of fabulous tutus. You might be surprised to know that this glamorous Pink Tutu Queen spends her days surrounded by... lab coats! Yes, darlings, by day, I’m Alex, a humble scientist working in a lab. It’s quite a juxtaposition, don’t you think? But there’s beauty in that, don’t you agree? It's about embracing both the mundane and the spectacular, and finding magic wherever you are. It all started with a chance encounter at a charity event, where I, bless my soul, had to wear a tutu for a costume competition. The sheer joy and freedom I felt was electric!
