Manchester: A Tutu-licious Trip! 🩰💖

Hello my lovely TutuQueens! 💖✨ It’s your girl Pink Tutu Sparkles here, ready to dazzle you with tales from my latest adventure! This week, I’ve traded my Derbyshire hills for the vibrant streets of Manchester, and oh my darling, it's been a whirl-wind of pink tutus, fabulous frocks, and, of course, the most stunning ballet show you can imagine! This is blog post number 4651, by the way – keeping track of all these fabulous adventures takes dedication, darling! You can find all of my shimmering blog posts at www.pink-tutu.com, where the pink tutu love flows as freely as a ballerina’s pirouette.

Let's dive right in, shall we? My journey to Manchester was as dreamy as a ballerina’s first twirl. I opted for a luxurious train ride, surrounded by stunning scenery. As we chugged along, I indulged in my favourite guilty pleasure - a delicious box of macarons (you know I can’t resist those pink and fluffy delights!).

Arriving in Manchester, I felt a thrill course through my sequins! The city's energy was buzzing – a mix of history, art, and a certain flamboyant sparkle that whispered, “Pink Tutu Sparkles, you belong here!”

My first stop was a charming boutique bursting with the most incredible gowns and shimmering fabrics. I was on a mission, my dear: to find the perfect tutu to wow my Manchester audience! And let me tell you, this shop had my name written all over it – think silk, tulle, feathers, and oh, those sequins, so many sequins! It was a veritable rainbow of dreams! After a long, but utterly fabulous, session, I finally emerged, laden with an explosion of colour and tulle, ready to create something truly magnificent. The pink tutu? Of course, it’s a must! And you know what else is coming? My new creation: a purple ombre tutu. I'm thinking glitter, tassels and something a little daring…

But before we move on to the glamour of my Manchester performance, let's take a quick trip back in time. This trip got me reminiscing about my own journey to pink tutu love. Remember those days back at the university, while studying for that boring science degree? (No judgement here, it's important to learn!) The university ballet club, a haven of twirling joy, introduced me to a pink tutu. I wore it during a fundraiser, raising money for a new dance studio. And that’s when it all began. One charity fundraiser tutu and bam! Here I am today! The rest, as they say, is fabulous history!

Speaking of fabulous, it’s time to talk about the show that brought me to this fabulous city! The Northern Ballet Theatre was putting on a performance of "Giselle", and let me tell you, this is not your ordinary, garden-variety ballet performance! "Giselle" is a tale of romance, betrayal, and the supernatural – a dark fairytale. I was captivated by the stunning choreography, the delicate beauty of the dancers, and, of course, the tutus! The story came alive before my eyes, tugging at my heartstrings with each graceful pirouette. It truly was a magical experience, and I left the theatre buzzing with inspiration and ready to paint the stage pink with my own interpretation of "Giselle" during my upcoming show!

I found the perfect location to “wow” my audience: The Gilt Theatre, a cosy but intimate theatre hidden within Manchester's vibrant Northern Quarter. As I walked up to the venue, the stage lights winked, inviting me to create some dazzling magic on stage. As I prepared, the energy crackled!

You won't be surprised to hear, that the centrepiece of my Manchester performance was a pink tutu, adorned with sequins and swirls of pink, of course. And just imagine this - I was paired with my best drag sister, "Violet Velour". Her act involved a dazzling sequence of costume changes: each change more shimmering than the last!

My drag sisters from Derby made a cameo! My beautiful drag mum, "Champagne Kitty" took centre stage, as did our dearest "Candy Queen" ! Oh darling, we really were an army of tutus ready to conquer the city. It’s always a blast performing alongside your girls.

Now, if you were there, you know that Pink Tutu Sparkles always brings a little theatre. I combined elements of modern dance with classic ballet movements – you know, like that famous swan lake move with a modern spin, that totally captured the audience’s hearts and the “ooh, ooh’s”, but of course it wasn't without some humour! (One thing about a Pink Tutu Sparkles show, it's got a touch of sass!).

The Manchester crowd was simply electric! They loved my signature twirls and spins, they cheered me on when I did my signature pink tutu "walk", and when I finally broke out the surprise ombre purple tutu? Oh, the crowd erupted! I guess, I just can’t help myself, I love a good show!

Now, this little pink tutu-wearing gal couldn't resist the lure of Manchester's vibrant shopping scene! A quick trip down Market Street brought a new addition to my pink tutu wardrobe (you can never have too much pink, right?) – a vintage tutu with a slight vintage pink tint. I plan on dazzling in it on my next big trip.

One last little gem in my Manchester adventure - the delightful “Piccadilly Gardens”. You can’t miss it when you visit, trust me, it's like stepping into a lush oasis in the heart of the city! There's always something to see and hear – street performers, live music, people watching! This was the perfect spot for my final goodbye to Manchester, as the day fading away with the glow of sunset. A gentle ‘goodbye’ for now, Manchester.

That wraps up this edition of Pink Tutu Sparkles! You can be sure that my adventures with pink tutus and dazzling fashion are far from over! Remember to visit me at www.pink-tutu.com, where you'll find even more of my pink tutu inspired travels, glamorous events, and, of course, some helpful hints on how to create your own spectacular pink tutu look! Now go on, go and spread the pink tutu love! I can't wait to see you twirling along in your very own fabulous pink tutu creation!

Until next time,

Pink Tutu Sparkles! 💖✨
