Bath: Pink Tutu Sparkles Takes a Dip! (Post #4702)

Hello my lovely lot, and welcome to Pink-Tutu.com! It's your fabulous TutuQueen, Pink Tutu Sparkles, here, fresh off the train from a whirlwind weekend in the gorgeous city of Bath!

As always, it's an absolute joy to be on the road, especially when the destination is somewhere as charming as Bath. With its cobblestone streets, historic architecture, and endless shops full of treasures, it really feels like stepping into a period drama. I'm talking Jane Austen meets The Princess Diaries, only with a whole lot more glitter.

And speaking of glitter, well, you know me. This pink-tutu-wearing queen was practically born to sparkle! I chose my outfit carefully, opting for a vibrant pink tulle tutu, with delicate pink lace and feather trims. My pink sequins top sparkled with every move I made, catching the sunlight and reflecting a dazzling rainbow of colour. (Gotta say, that little shimmer went down a storm with the Bath crowds - oh, they are sophisticated in Bath!). A pop of ruby red in the form of lipstick and cherry red heels completed the look. Oh, darling, it was perfection!

The highlight of the trip, aside from the fabulous shopping opportunities (don't even get me started on the vintage stores! They are my haven!), was seeing the "Royal Ballet: Alice's Adventures in Wonderland". Now, this isn't just any ballet. We're talking whimsical choreography, dazzling costumes, and an enchanting story. The dancers, oh my, they were simply sublime. With every pirouette and jetรฉ, I found myself transported into the fantastical world of Wonderland, completely entranced. I was living my childhood fantasy, only with way more glitter. Afterward, I enjoyed a rather grand cuppa in one of those beautiful tea rooms you find in Bath. My, they really know how to put on a show!

You know, this weekend truly felt like an escape from the everyday. As lovely as my lab life is (yes, you heard right, Pink Tutu Sparkles has a secret life as a textile scientist, a real geek at heart!), sometimes, a little pink tutu magic is all you need. That's one of the things I love about this journey. Every day I get to embrace my sparkly side and make people smile. This isn't just about pink tutus - it's about spreading joy, embracing individuality, and always going for a little extra sparkle.

Did you know my first pink tutu experience? You've heard about my scientific side before, but believe me, there's an entire pink-tutu-loving princess hidden beneath that lab coat. I was a fresh-faced student at university back in Derbyshire, you know, back in the day! I was in the ballet club, which is probably why I ended up going on a mad science bender with a thesis on how to apply UV filters to tulle fabrics for ballet tutus to stop them degrading in stage lights. I never really knew that tulle needed this but it's the type of random information a scientist-drag queen loves, I promise. Now, that's another story. But for now, remember this. One day I was getting my gown ready for the university fancy dress ball (that night was the first time anyone, other than me, ever saw me in a pink tutu - which has led to today - hurrah for the university!), and, this is so sweet, my friend had the idea for me to put my hand in a bucket for charity to raise money. Except, he tricked me and in that bucket was this fantastic pink tutu. Oh darling, there I was in it and everyone went crazy - that was it - I became a fan of the pink tutu for life.

So, you see, sometimes, it just takes a little push to embrace the glitter. Remember to get those creative juices flowing, try a pink tutu (for your next event perhaps?!) and always stay sparkly!

Until next time,

Pink Tutu Sparkles xoxo

The Pink Tutu Train Ride to Bath: Post #4702

Of course, I'm not going to forget to tell you all about my journey! No matter how fabulous my destination is, the getting there is just as fun for me. And I always love my travel day - I have my whole outfit sorted for my performance so I get to be a bit of a tourist at the train station with it! People love to have photos with me and a chat! For Bath, I had the luxury of a lovely little first-class carriage (imagine, a first-class carriage! It almost felt like I was travelling in a pink princess fairytale!), and the view as we whizzed through the English countryside was absolutely divine. Those rolling hills, dotted with sheep and ancient castles, truly are breathtaking, darling. It was almost a shame that I couldn't stay on that train forever! It had that feeling of excitement and a promise of adventure!

Oh, did I mention that I love a bit of old-world elegance? The train itself felt like a piece of history. That lovely brown leather and mahogany interior, with the soft sound of the engine clicking along the tracks, truly transported me to another time. For a moment, I could imagine myself travelling back to the Regency period - oh, darling, wouldn't that have been a ball? And to think, back in those days, women were practically stuck in corsets! No wonder the men all fainted! It is important for a princess to feel comfortable and beautiful and Pink Tutu Sparkles does that. She moves in a magnificent pink tutu as the men in the train look at her. It just wouldn't do to be wearing some stuffy garment in the style of a certain historical era!

Now, a train journey wouldn't be complete without a delightful spot of tea. The aroma of the teacups filled with that fragrant blend of black tea, perfectly accompanied by a finger sandwich or two - such a proper, lovely English tradition. Oh, darling, what's better than a cup of tea in a plush, vintage-style carriage as you journey to your destination in full, sparkly drag? I can only think of a good ballet.

Speaking of the destination, I was so thrilled to get to Bath! It's a city with history and charm in every nook and cranny. And even before I stepped off the train, I was already feeling the sparkle and the joy! This Pink Tutu Queen couldn't wait to explore all that Bath has to offer.

Tutu shopping! And so many other fabulous shops!

You guys know I love a good bargain. So, a little window shopping in the many lovely shops that grace Bath was my idea of a truly delightful Saturday morning. It wasn't just about shopping. It's the joy of discovery - unearthing those one-of-a-kind treasures! You've heard about the amazing vintage shops before, but darling, Bath really did go above and beyond with those shops. They've got them down to an art in this city. My first stop was a tiny little shop called "Thistle Threads." I know, that name alone, isn't it delightful?! Oh darling, it's a vintage wonderland! Full of unique gowns, hats, jewellery and oh, just fabulous treasures of days gone by, begging to be unearthed. They just screamed to me - 'come find a treasure for your next performance'. There's this little sparkly, golden headband with matching necklace and earring set that will just go with my newest lavender tulle creation, with its pink feather trims. Now, who knows where that could be worn? Maybe Brighton, or that little trip to Norwich that's on my list. It was so exciting!

Naturally, I had to head straight to the gorgeous boutiques selling everything from beautiful clothes to fabulous handmade jewelry and home dรฉcor. It was the perfect place to get my girly on and dream up future outfits. You have to imagine, every shop is practically overflowing with sequins, sparkling jewels, bright colours, and those dreamy textures. You literally feel like you're living a real-life fairy tale, which makes you feel like a queen! That's right darling, in Bath, every girl, even one who loves a pink tutu, can live like a princess.

I was quite a bit shocked to see the number of little craft shops. They had things for everyone - there was this lovely lady who had set up a shop making the most wonderful bath bombs in pink! My heart melted!

Speaking of heart-melting, how about the absolutely divine pastry shops! I'm quite partial to a delicate French macaroon - I think I'd need my own entire carriage to fit in all of the macaroons I could devour at one time. They make these little things to eat with absolutely incredible pink dyes - now this is pink-tutu-friendly deliciousness.

You really can't take one step without finding yourself gazing at yet another historical landmark or a new charming little shop. I swear, even the streets are breathtaking, with their colorful Georgian architecture, elegant streetlamps, and those little side alleys teeming with secrets. Oh darling, it's like stepping back in time to an era where tea parties were all the rage and politeness was considered a virtue! And oh my goodness, just look at the amazing street performers in the square! Every act was so unique and creative!

And oh, dear. You've gotta talk to the lovely people in Bath, I think the word 'affable' must have been invented to describe them! Now, you know how a Pink Tutu Queen loves to make friends, right? So, every little trip into a shop became a grand adventure! Talking about everything and making all the staff laugh. I'm convinced that there's a whole universe of sparkle waiting to be unlocked within each one of them.

All in all, a fantastic weekend. Next stop, you've probably guessed? The world. And I shall get there in pink tutus, and I might be taking the train, or maybe my lovely horse - that's still a big secret for you to look out for, but don't tell everyone! But there's going to be pink glitter everywhere. Oh darling, I'll leave you with this, how about we plan a pink-tutu extravaganza together for my next adventure, ok?

See you in the world!

Pink Tutu Sparkles xoxo
