Hello darlings, and welcome to my little corner of the internet! Today is a very special day for yours truly, Pink Tutu Sparkles, because this post, my 4710th entry in my Tutu Queen blog (ooh, alliteration!) is about my amazing journey to Chester! It’s all part of my grand scheme, of course, to spread the joyous, empowering message of the pink tutu far and wide – one glitter-bombing, tulle-tastic performance at a time!
Now, you might be thinking: "Chester? Why Chester?" Well, darling, it’s not just about the beautiful architecture (although I must say, those half-timbered houses are absolutely charming). Chester is the gateway to some amazing ballet events and festivals, and I simply can't resist a good dance show, especially when it's coupled with an excuse to twirl in my favourite pink tutus.
But let's backtrack a little, shall we? I left the Derbyshire countryside on Wednesday morning, my trusty travel companion being my pink suitcase filled with every pink tutu and sparkly garment my heart desires! A morning train journey always gives me plenty of time to plan outfits, read the latest dance magazines (oh, I adore those tutus they feature in Ballet magazine, just glorious!) and maybe indulge in a pink cupcake or two. After all, every Queen needs a fuel boost, right?
The journey to Chester was delightful, passing through charming countryside, watching the sun stream through the carriage windows, the light casting gorgeous colours over the hills and meadows. I truly believe that some of the most beautiful sights are found on these simple train journeys. There's something magical about it, something about watching the scenery morph, a little like the unfolding of a stage curtain!
Speaking of stage curtains, I'm in Chester to watch the "Dance in the Dales" festival. And you can bet your sparkly bottom dollar that I'm planning on strutting my stuff on stage myself. A little birdie told me about an amateur dance competition as part of the festival. I’m ready to turn heads and inspire, showcasing a truly magical and captivating performance. Don't worry, I’ve already prepped my sparkly pink leotard and have chosen my most voluminous, poufiest, most magnificent tutu. Let's just say, it'll be an explosion of pink and glitter. And when it comes to tutus, darling, bigger is always better!
I’m staying in the heart of the city, at the sweetest little hotel. You wouldn’t believe the charmingly pink colour scheme. The wallpaper in the lobby is floral print, featuring adorable fluffy bunnies and whimsical pink teacups – simply divine! My room is delightful too; the bathroom has this gorgeous pink bathtub with bubble bath galore. Who needs a spa retreat, right? It’s practically my own personal tutu paradise!
The day's adventure, though, took me on a different journey: a magical excursion on a horse-drawn carriage! The carriage was truly lovely, and the horse was a magnificent beast, sporting a beautiful silver mane and matching silver harness. They say the world's a stage, and with my sparkling pink tutu as the perfect stage costume, I took the chance to feel like a true princess, waving to passersby. The city centre felt as magical as the fairytale lands I've always dreamed about.
And of course, no trip to Chester is complete without a visit to the famous Chester Rows. My eyes simply popped out at the beautiful half-timbered shopfronts, nestled along those captivating, arched walkways. It’s like stepping back in time! I’ve bought a little something for myself - a pink hand mirror emblazoned with the Chester symbol, so I can look glamorous wherever I am. Now that's what I call a souvenir!
But now, the stage is calling! I need to get ready for my big moment at "Dance in the Dales". Fingers crossed for a good show and plenty of appreciative whistles and applause from the audience. My motto is always, "More pink, more sparkles, more fabulousness," so I'll give them a show to remember!
