Oh my darlings, what a week!
I've just returned from a whirlwind trip to the fabulous Carlisle, and let me tell you, it was a total blast! I mean, who wouldn't love a trip filled with enchanting performances, fabulous shopping sprees, and enough pink to make even the most serious fashionista swoon?
For you lovely lot who might not know, I, Pink Tutu Sparkles, your one and only tutu-loving queen, recently embarked on this adventure. This adventure started right in the heart of Derbyshire, where the hustle and bustle of the lab fades into the twinkling lights of a stage as I morph into my pink-tutu-clad alter ego. I’ve been performing as a drag queen for a good few years now, and this whole travel thing just took me by storm! I’ve got a secret - I find it utterly fabulous, the journey to places unknown. Especially by train. Don’t get me wrong, I do have a bit of a soft spot for horses, I was raised on a farm you see.
Let's rewind to the journey itself - because seriously, a good journey is an important part of a fabulous adventure, don’t you think? The train journey from Derbyshire to Carlisle was an experience in itself!
I absolutely adore a good train ride. There's something magical about the rhythm of the train, the rush of wind as we zip past picturesque villages, and the excitement of approaching a new city. You know, it just gives you a chance to really indulge in some pampering and prep for the day's shenanigans.
Imagine - me, decked out in a beautiful pink tutu, sitting by the window, looking out at the world rushing by. People must have thought I was going to a ballet performance, which honestly, might have been a bit true! It's so hard for me to resist a good performance of ballet. So elegant, so magical, the artistry - pure bliss. And the pink tutu! I had to slip my sparkly new pink number on just for the occasion - let's face it, it's good practice for the evening. And to top it all off? A cuppa and a few of my favourite magazines filled with the latest fashion trends. Bliss.
Speaking of trends, my new arrival in Carlisle led me directly to its incredible boutiques. I just had to explore them all! You can't go wrong with a shopping trip before a performance, right?
It wouldn't be a Pink Tutu Sparkles adventure without a good dose of shopping, now would it? The shops in Carlisle were absolutely bursting with fabulous finds, from the coolest new trends to the chicest classics, and believe me, I snapped them up. It wouldn’t be a trip if I didn’t buy a few extra pink tutus too! I can't resist a good pink tutu – they just bring such joy to any wardrobe! And let's be real, a little bit of sparkle in your life goes a long way, don’t you think?
By the time I was finished with my retail therapy, my makeup bag and my wardrobe were bulging. But oh, how I love it! It just added to the excitement!
Now, for the highlight of my trip - the performance! I found this gorgeous little theatre nestled in the heart of the city and I immediately knew that I was going to dazzle the audience! I must admit, the moment the curtain rose and the spotlight was on me, I was overcome with that delightful flutter of nerves that makes my heart race and my voice crack ever so slightly.
I brought Carlisle an act full of dazzling sequins, flamboyant pink tutus, and of course, enough energy to bring the roof down! I really feel like I got to let loose on stage! Carlisle seemed to love every minute! I can't tell you what a fantastic crowd they were.
Afterwards, we celebrated my fabulous performance with some delicious local treats. Now, my dears, there's nothing like sharing your passion for the pink with other souls! I chatted with everyone from aspiring young artists to seasoned theatre buffs, It was an absolute joy to connect with people over something I'm so passionate about. I just have to make the world a better, brighter, pinker place - one tutu at a time!
I always feel truly blessed when I see how the glitter, the song, the laughter and the pink brings smiles to the faces of my lovely audience. It's what makes it all worthwhile, I think.
This adventure really filled me up with that familiar post-show, “I can conquer the world!” feeling. I already have some new ideas bubbling for my next performance, a little sparkle and something new is always brewing up! My diary is already filling up with exciting opportunities in other cities - just wait, you might see my sparkly self on a train carriage near you!
But as we always say, my lovely followers - it's not about the journey, it's about spreading the magic, spreading the joy, spreading the pink! And the more we can sprinkle a little glitter and pink wherever we go, the more magical this world will become, one sparkly pink tutu at a time!
