Taunton Twirls & Tutus! ๐Ÿฉฐ ๐Ÿ’–

Hello darlings! It's your favourite pink-tastic queen, Pink Tutu Sparkles, here! This is blog post number 4758, and believe me, this is going to be a sparkly doozy! I've just travelled from my home in the heart of Derbyshire, a lovely county with more cows than people, to Taunton. And it's a journey I won't forget in a hurry.

As usual, I chose the more eco-friendly option and hopped aboard the train. My tulle skirt ruffled slightly as I squeezed onto the train, but who needs extra space when you have the world's most magnificent train attire? My train ensemble - pink tutu with silver sequined waistband, of course! - made quite the impact on fellow travellers. The ladies, especially, seemed captivated by the sheer amount of twirl-tasticness, but everyone offered a warm smile and a cheeky 'hello'. Travel, even for a diva like me, isn't always glamorous, but there's always magic in making people smile!

My main mission, of course, was a much-needed tutu-related performance. Taunton was hosting the annual Winter Wonderland extravaganza - a festive celebration complete with delicious mulled cider and a charming skating rink, which was the perfect backdrop for a performance by yours truly.

Now, you wouldn't think Taunton, a sleepy little town with cobbled streets and historical pubs, would be brimming with dance fans, but let me tell you, those Tauntonians know how to party! The performance went down a storm, with everyone joining in, a delightful whirlwind of twirls and sparkles. Afterward, I took my customary detour to a vintage clothing shop where I managed to nab the most delightful hand-beaded pink dress - perfect for a night out, don't you think?

I did, however, need a quick outfit change before I could partake in the festivities, and let me tell you, there is no worse feeling than trying to navigate a busy fair with a full-length tulle skirt and precarious stilettos! After a slightly hairy moment involving a gingerbread stall and an almost-spilled cup of hot chocolate, I was safely ensconced in my little haven of an hotel room.

Once in my fabulous room - think feather boas, twinkling fairy lights and enough pink to make even Barbie blush! - I whipped out my makeup kit. The secret to a great pink tutu queen? The right amount of blush. You need it on your cheeks, eyes, and lips. Believe me, it can make all the difference!

Before joining the festivities, I decided to go for a walk around Taunton, taking in the local beauty and stopping for some charming "ooh-la-la" pictures in front of historic buildings - always remembering my pink tutu rule: Always make sure the photo includes your tutu in a fabulous twirl, don't just stand there, darling! It's a life philosophy!

And you know what? The highlight of my evening wasn't the fabulous music, the amazing dancing, or the free cocktails (not a fan of alcohol - stick with the prosecco!) but meeting a young girl who said to her mother, "Can I wear a pink tutu, Mummy, like that one?" pointing excitedly at me!

Now, isn't that a moment worth writing home about? It's these tiny encounters, these sparkled moments of connection, that remind me why I do this, why I wear my heart on my sleeve (and a sparkling, fabulous tutu!) I love being Pink Tutu Sparkles.

Taunton, you were absolutely spectacular, and I will certainly be back for another whirl sometime! Until next time, remember: Always be fabulous! ๐Ÿ’–

Here are a few things to know if you want to have your own amazing tutu time!

  • Shop till you drop. Pink tutus are like a beautiful ballet of colour! I always pick mine from high-end boutique stores and independent retailers - you won't find that same bespoke sparkle and flair at mass-market shops.
  • Travel in style! While you might not always have access to a private carriage, always embrace the magic of the train! Dress to impress, wear your pink tutu and enjoy the journey, you are already making a difference!
  • Sparkle like a supernova! Glitter is not optional, darling, it's mandatory! Whether it's sequins on your tutu, glittery eye shadow or sparkly accessories - more is always more!
  • Spread the joy! My philosophy in life is: share your joy and sparkles! Everyone deserves a moment of happy and magic, no matter where they come from! So get your own tutu and start spreading joy!
