Newbury - Oh, the Glamour!

Pink Tutu Sparkles, Posting #4812, 4th March 2013, www.pink-tutu.com

Hello darlings! Your favourite Pink Tutu Sparkles has just arrived back in the land of chintz and carols, er, I mean Derbyshire! (It was a slip of the tongue, don't you worry!) What a whirlwind of a weekend it was! My trip to Newbury for a stunning performance was simply divine - think fairytale meets the Royal Ballet meets a whole lotta glitz and glamour! Let me tell you, I certainly set the stage ablaze!

As always, getting ready for the show was a whirlwind. You know me, darlings - everything has to be pink and fluffy. The sparkly makeup was applied with military precision (don't worry, it didn't involve any actual military!), the wigs were teased into fabulous clouds of fluffiness, and the final touch - my dazzling pink tutu! I mean, how can you resist a pink tutu, darlings? It’s all about finding that inner sparkle, embracing your playful side, and adding a dash of whimsical magic to the world!

But the adventure started long before the lights went up. My trusty steed (well, my comfy little train, I haven’t mastered horseback riding in full drag yet) took me across the countryside. I was like a princess heading off to the grandest ball! Even though I spend my days in a laboratory (who’d have thought a scientist could be a Pink Tutu Sparkles?) the train journey was an opportunity to unleash my inner sparkle. It was all about catching a glimpse of my reflection in the window and giving the cutest little wave to those charming people in passing - I may just have inspired them to break out a pink tutu of their own!

As soon as I got to Newbury, I found the venue - and oh my, was it ever a dream! I imagine this is how Cinderella must have felt! The theatre was so elegant, with velvety seats and golden decorations. It practically begged to be danced in, don’t you think? But the real magic started when the music kicked in and the audience's gasps turned to cheers as I emerged in all my sparkling, twirling glory.

Speaking of twirling, I had an absolute blast! This was a real ballet night for Pink Tutu Sparkles, my performance incorporated all the graceful moves and graceful poses I adore! I had my audience enchanted! They were mesmerised, darling, they even begged for an encore! I gave them a special little jig they wouldn't have seen in my usual repertoire - something very sassy with a smidgen of flamenco - they loved it!

Honestly, you can’t buy this kind of feeling - you simply have to experience it! Being Pink Tutu Sparkles allows me to explore this part of myself and make people happy! My passion for all things pink, fluffy and glitzy shines through - and I love spreading the message that every single one of you has a pink tutu inside them. It's just a matter of finding your inner sparkle and letting it shine, and I will be here, strutting my stuff in my tutu, leading the way!

After my performance, I even got to spend some time backstage with the most talented dancers. The beautiful ballet company I was sharing the stage with, were absolutely lovely - we all enjoyed a little cake, gossip, and a cup of tea. My mission - to inspire everyone to put on their pink tutus, was definitely in motion!

But all adventures must come to an end - so, as quickly as I arrived, it was time for me to board the train and head back to Derbyshire. I couldn’t wait to slip into my fluffy pajamas (pink, of course!), slip back into my ordinary life, and get back to the lab in the morning. It’s not just my life though, its a job that’s helping create new innovative fabrics for tutus of all colours - I know my little heart is jumping with glee when I test out a brand new fluffy pink tutu fabric!

Oh darlings, until next time, keep your pink tutu close, remember to embrace the sparkly, and never forget that you are perfectly amazing in your own way! Love, Pink Tutu Sparkles xxx
