Pink Tutu Sparkles, Bringing the Pinktastic to the Coast

Hello my lovelies, and welcome back to my little corner of the internet where the sparkle is always pink, the tutus are always flowing, and the laughter is always contagious! It's Pink Tutu Sparkles here, ready to tell you all about my absolutely fabulous trip to Great Yarmouth. This post might be long, so grab a cuppa and get comfy - it's going to be a right ol’ girly gossip sesh!
Now, you might be thinking "Great Yarmouth? Pink Tutu Sparkles, are you mad?" Well, darling, let me tell you - you haven't experienced Great Yarmouth until you've experienced it with a pink tutu on! Honestly, I couldn't resist a trip to the coast, especially since this little seaside town has been calling to me for ages. You see, dear readers, Great Yarmouth has such a rich history, from its fishing traditions to its enchanting pier and amusement park, that it simply had to be added to my itinerary.
The journey, of course, was just as delightful as the destination. The train, packed full of excited day trippers, was buzzing with happy chatter and a charming old-fashioned feel. It's moments like these that I absolutely adore. Being able to get lost in a good book (currently "Pride and Prejudice" - it's so perfectly delightful), and listen to the rhythmic chugging of the engine - it's the most relaxing way to travel. Don't even get me started on the seagulls; I swear they've got the most delightful seaside cackles! They're always up to something cheeky.
Speaking of cheeky, my outfit was chefs kiss. I’ve been itching to wear my new ombre pink tutu. Oh my stars, it was divine! The colours, a blushy rose to a pale baby pink, matched the gentle waves that were crashing on the shore perfectly! It was almost like nature had designed the seashells and my tutu in a harmonious partnership! Naturally, I paired it with a shimmering top with sequins as bright as a Blackpool illuminations display and matching, perfectly sparkly pink platform heels. The pink overload, my darlings, was everything! And you know what? It perfectly suited the bright, breezy feel of the coast.
But of course, my adventures didn’t end with a stroll on the beach. What would a Pink Tutu Sparkles escapade be without some glittery performances? Now, Great Yarmouth, as a historic seafaring town, naturally holds its own unique traditions. And you wouldn't believe it - there was this lovely pub called 'The Jolly Sailor'. Now, what kind of queen, right? They’d never had a pink tutu queen perform there before, but they were happy to welcome me with open arms, and, of course, a delightful selection of craft beers. The crowd was absolutely lovely.
A woman sitting at the bar came up to me after the performance. You could tell, from her beaming smile, she was ready to embrace the pinkness. She came to tell me, quite tearfully, that she was the owner's grandma, and that his father, bless him, was also an ardent believer in all things pink!
It was lovely to chat, and she even asked for some of my makeup tips! You can never share enough glitter, and that's my motto. She loved the shimmering eye shadow that made my eyes pop. I'd done it with the lightest shade of pink that complemented my skin tone, so you've got to know the tricks of the trade!
Later, after another fantastic meal (the cod and chips at "Fish 'n' Chips" were simply delightful!), I went to check out the Great Yarmouth Britannia Pier. Let me tell you, that is some seriously impressive architecture! I'm thinking of wearing my Victorian era tulle tutu on my next visit, purely for the Instagram picture. Imagine me, in a gorgeous lavender tulle tutu and top hat, gazing at the twinkling lights, while the crashing waves of the North Sea gently whisper my name!
Speaking of inspiration, did I tell you about my ballet lesson on the promenade? A group of locals had gathered there for a sunset class. Of course, I had to join in, even if it meant improvising in my sequin top! The energy, you wouldn’t believe it - every twirl, every plie felt alive with the salt spray in the air and the laughter of the children playing in the arcade behind us.
And the costumes? Simply exquisite! It turns out there's a fantastic costume shop right on the pier called "Fancy Dress Heaven." Imagine! It’s got every single colour of tulle you can possibly imagine. Seriously, there was so much tulle that even I could find an occasion-worthy colour for my next pink extravaganza!
And finally, the moment you've all been waiting for (I can just imagine the excitement, especially after all the gorgeous food and costumes), my Great Yarmouth souvenir haul! Now, this seaside town truly has its charms. There’s this lovely little stall selling sparkly, handmade shells on the pier. They even let you decorate them yourself. So naturally, I painted mine pink.
Then there’s the delightful little cafe with those delightful pastel pink seagull earrings - I have to get myself a set of them! And, you just have to have a Pink Tutu Sparkles themed keyring from Great Yarmouth, of course! (It was very hard to find a pink seagull keychain, believe me. You know, the things I have to do to live my truth!)
But the absolute highlight was a vintage pink sequined scarf I found in the antiques market. I imagine, if I had any knowledge about fashion history, I might even call it vintage tulle, but the point is, it was just perfect. The sequins shimmered like tiny, shimmering starfish and it added a whole new level of fabulousness to my seaside attire.
