Today's post is extra special, because we're taking a journey, a real proper one, on a real proper train, darling! I’m practically buzzing with excitement, my Tutu Queen friends!
It’s Post Number 4895!
Yep, you read that right! It’s an unbelievable milestone, and to celebrate this phenomenal number, we're going to dive into the delights of Longbridge, a Midlands marvel I’ve been desperate to explore!
I am practically shimmering with excitement at this new adventure, a real tutu-worthy journey. This post has been so long awaited that my little pink Tutu Queen heart almost burst with anticipation! And it wouldn’t be complete without mentioning I've got the ultimate travelling accessory packed - my oh-so-pink suitcase bursting with every conceivable Tutu Queen must-have for a fun-filled weekend, like tutu-tastic frills and glittery sequins galore! There are sparkles that would make the disco ball jealous and enough pink to make even a flamingo blush!
A Touch of Ballet Before I Go!
Before even a whiff of that train station, I just had to visit the Royal Ballet for a quick peek at "The Sleeping Beauty"! Those tutu-wearing ballerina dreams - they’re like magic. My life, you know? Ballet is my absolute weakness, I can get lost in the grace of those pirouettes and grand jetés, oh darling, the beauty! They just speak to my Tutu Queen soul!
Then, the biggest rush of adrenaline swept through me as I donned a tutu! For this particular occasion, it’s a fluffy, feather-trimmed affair in a delicious shade of raspberry pink! I’m so addicted to tutus, it's like they’re my life, honestly! They’re the key to a happy life, a life full of whimsy and wonder and extra sparkles, oh darling! Just look at this dazzling beauty! I do believe it will cause a real stir in Longbridge… and who knows, perhaps this particular number will inspire a whole new wave of Tutu Queen followers? It could happen!
Travel Day in Tutu Fashion!
Now, I may be a princess, but a train is my steed for this little excursion, oh darling. My love for travelling by rail started young! I grew up in Derbyshire and spent hours riding trains from Chesterfield to Bakewell, just gazing out of the window as the countryside whizzed by, like the greatest performance ever. That scenery! A landscape that speaks of natural grace! All those lush green hills – just like the colour of my perfect tutu, by the way! And those little villages dotted in amongst the fields… they always made my imagination soar to a land of tutus, twirls and glorious performances! I actually have such wonderful memories of train trips in this particular area of England. Just remembering those carefree days gives me that little twinkle in my eye, the magic I always look for in every performance.
There's something so special about railway journeys that no other form of transportation can capture! I adore the rhythm of the train as it rushes down the track! It's the perfect stage for dreaming up fantastic ideas, new outfits, the newest performances for the Pink Tutu Sparkle show! There’s also that little moment of delicious suspense as the train pulls into the station… *Will anyone notice this dazzling Tutu Queen? * Let's just say it makes travelling much more thrilling!
Speaking of which, here I am at Longbridge, the railway station bustling with people on a Saturday! The perfect scene for some Tutu Queen mischief, oh darling!
Hellooooo, Longbridge!
You guys already know the name is fabulous! That glorious Longbridge railway station - a true icon of the Midland railways. There’s that unmistakable charm, those graceful lines - just like my beautiful pink tutu! What a gorgeous symphony of art nouveau designs - truly an architectural gem! Oh, and those colourful floral mosaics on the station walls… They are divine and add just a dash of tutu-rific fun! It's a place brimming with history, my dears, and I'm about to create my own piece of Tutu Queen history!
A Pink Tutu Walkabout!
First on my to-do list - a fabulous walkabout! The air is fresh and the sun is out… it's the ideal time for a Tutu Queen strut. My favourite walk is always along the beautiful canal, oh, it’s just the most divine stroll. And just to be a little different I think I might twirl with my parasol...it adds an extra touch of magic to my moves, and well, this Queen doesn’t do boring!
What a truly inspiring space, oh darling! The people are lovely - they have such charming smiles, and seem absolutely fascinated by my vibrant pink tutu - they look up and give the biggest smiles! It truly feels like they’re all embracing that touch of magic and whimsy that only a pink tutu can offer. Longbridge is a haven of beauty. My feet and my heart are positively glowing!
Fabulous Food
After my walk, it's time for tea! Oh darling, it simply wouldn't be a trip without a delicious cuppa, some of Longbridge's very own homebaked Victoria sponge cake. It’s been so lovely, taking a minute to sit down in this divine tea room - such delightful, delicious pastries! I must say - I’ve already found so many spots that I’ll have to go back for a full afternoon of feasting! The tea room feels just like the tearoom scenes in my favourite ballet stories. And, in this charming space, with that beautiful view across the green grass, you just feel happy! That’s why we do pink tutus, my Tutu Queens - for that simple feeling of pure joy!
Time for Some Theatrical Inspiration!
Right, darling, it’s time for some serious theatricals. As a tutu-wearing performance artist myself, I need a little dose of the drama. We're off to see ‘The Full Monty’, a heartwarming musical, at the wonderful Longbridge theatre!
Oh, this production really knocked my socks off. What a performance! They truly embraced the spirit of theatre - those passionate emotions, that raucous laughter - they truly had my Tutu Queen heart pumping with joy! The entire audience were in such high spirits and the laughter echoed through the hall! That’s exactly what a show should do! The show itself has an absolutely adorable plot - the struggle of finding that sparkle in your life. And the dance sequences… darling, those dance scenes! Just picture all that energy, all those moving bodies, all those bright lights… The way those men let loose and gave it their all was such a thrill.
Shop 'til I Drop!
But wait, oh darling, the adventure’s not over yet! A little trip to the shops is a Tutu Queen tradition. There’s a gorgeous antique market brimming with the most incredible collections, vintage treasures that really make you feel you’re in a dreamland. Now, a few of these items will surely look dazzling in the Pink Tutu Sparkle wardrobe.
A Fabulous Farewell!
What a magnificent weekend, darling! Longbridge is an unforgettable little gem and I already can’t wait to return, oh darling. I even brought a souvenir - a beautiful piece of hand-painted pottery with delicate pink roses! Perfect for my ever-expanding Pink Tutu Sparkles collection. And you know, there’s something so special about seeing the sun setting over Longbridge after such a busy weekend. It's all a bit of tutu-magic. And as I look back on this journey, I can’t help but smile - and what’s more perfect than ending this beautiful day with a glorious, dazzling sunset!
Oh darling, the world is your oyster – you can travel and be whatever you want to be! And always, always, always remember that wearing a pink tutu just makes it all that more magical!
