It’s official: this trip has gone down in history as the most dazzlingly fun Pink Tutu Sparkles adventure EVER. Just a little sprinkle of glitter for you, my loves, as this is blog post number 4945 and my aim as ever is to fill the world with the purest joy, all fuelled by the magic of the pink tutu, of course! 💖
Right from the start, I knew this journey would be special. Imagine my delight, catching a glimpse of a perfectly formed rainbow arc stretching across the sky, just as the train rolled out of Derbyshire. The air was filled with a symphony of birdsong and the warmth of the summer sun was like a gentle, shimmering embrace. This was just the perfect start to my day!
You know me, my dears. I’m all about taking things at my own pace. I absolutely adore the feeling of the wind whispering secrets through my pink tulle as I travel. This time, I was riding a very fancy carriage pulled by four, let me repeat that, FOUR, magnificent white steeds! It truly was a fairytale journey! It’s funny how the most exciting and romantic places in the world always seem to demand this special way of travelling. Maybe it’s just a personal quirk, a dash of pink tutu sparkle, sprinkled over my travel dreams. Whatever it is, I’ll embrace it every time!
Reaching Gateshead felt like entering a glittering wonderland, and not just because I had strategically applied a generous dose of pink glitter on my eyelashes and eyelids. It’s a town overflowing with vibrant culture, history, and a sprinkle of pure magic. Everywhere you look, there are amazing museums, theatres, and charming cafes - and even a little pink tutu could get lost in a place like this.
I was excited to make a special visit to the Gateshead Old Town Hall, that beautiful building that whispers of the city’s Victorian past. After admiring its grandeur, I went on a little pilgrimage to The Sage Gateshead - a gorgeous space designed to echo the curves of the river. If you are a true fan of classical music, jazz, and art like myself, this place will take your breath away. And the river views, just breathtaking, darling. You’ll need to pop on some rose-tinted spectacles, like me, just to be able to soak it all in properly.
Being the performer I am, it wouldn’t be a true Pink Tutu Sparkles adventure without hitting the stage, right? Well, I was fortunate enough to get the chance to perform in a magnificent theatre tucked away on a cobblestone side street. The theatre felt like a forgotten dream, steeped in history and filled with secrets from its glorious past. They have their own troupe of ballerinas there, you see, who perform ballet, modern dance, and everything in-between. Their style is so classic and elegant. But there was one performance, where a talented little dancer who took the stage with more joy than any dancer I had seen before! She twirled, leaped, and spun, wearing her own little, sparkling pink tutu, radiating the purest form of happiness! My dear, it was all just so wonderful, like watching a fairytale unfold before your very own eyes!
You might think that my days are just about glitter, tutus and theatre, but in the words of that fabulous Dolly Parton, “you've got to work hard if you want to have a little shine”. It's why I also try to help budding designers by working on a new fabric testing project at the moment for a lovely local fabric designer. Imagine the sheer, elegant fabrics she is creating for her latest range.
