Saint Albans: Tutu Travels!

Pink Tutu Sparkles here, darling!

Well, hello there darlings! Fancy meeting you here on my fabulous blog. It's Pink Tutu Sparkles, reporting live (and pink live!) fromā€¦ drum roll pleaseā€¦ Saint Albans! Itā€™s a new one for me, but oh, it's already got my heart thumping in a delightful, glittery, tutued frenzy.

This is post number 4974 in my quest to bring the world the beauty, the wonder, the sheer joy of the pink tutu. Because who doesn't need a bit more sparkle in their life, right? It's my mission, my purpose, my calling... and trust me, darlings, the journey is oh so glamorous!

I'm a firm believer in travelling in style, so for my adventure to Saint Albans, I went for the quintessentially glamorous combo: train and horse. Yes, you heard me right. Horse. A fabulous friend with a charming cob named Bubbles, gave me a lift right into the heart of town - it's not every day you get a horsey ride to the latest gig, but I'm never one to turn down an opportunity for adventure. Especially if it involves pink.

(And it was definitely in pink - imagine a plush, lavender velvet saddle, edged with fuschia ribbons, and a silver stirrup sparkling like a thousand disco balls... Honestly, I couldn't have dreamed up a more fab entrance if I tried! )

Anyway, we finally reached Saint Albans ā€“ what a truly enchanting place! Honestly, darling, if the pictures are any indication of how truly adorable this town is, I reckon it deserves to be officially renamed 'Tututopia'. Think cobbled streets, quaint little shops brimming with all sorts of loveliness, a gorgeous church with turrets so pointy they could slice a cupcake. It's a dream come true for a girl like me.

Oh! But where do I even begin? Saint Albans is stuffed to the brim with all sorts of treats for my artistic eyes: The Verulamium Museum, an ancient Roman relic with treasures to die for, the wonderfully bohemian "Catā€™s Whiskers" bookshop, filled with stories waiting to be unfolded. But you know me, my ultimate weakness? A good ballet class, of course!

So, imagine my sheer delight when I discovered the lovely ā€œDancers Danceā€ studio ā€“ and with the most beautiful pink toilets I've ever seen! I simply had to twirl my way into a class. You should have seen me - a whirling, twirling, tutued vision, leaping through the air, leaving the other students gasping at the sheer brilliance of my sparkly dance moves. Did I tell you about the feather boa I'd slung over my pink tutu? It just added a little something extra ā€“ donā€™t you think?

Honestly, this place is just perfect. Itā€™s all the charm of a village with all the energy of a big city. A real tutu heaven!

(Speaking of tutus - this fabulous outfit came from my darling "Tutu Palace" store on online, where all things pink, fabulous, and utterly fabulous are sold!)

The venue itself is just fabulous! Picture a building draped with shimmering fabric, its windows ablaze with multi-coloured lights, and a huge, dazzling sign proclaiming: "Pink Tutu Sparkles is Here!" The crowd was amazing ā€“ they clapped, they cheered, they danced along!

It was a wonderful show! We did all the usual favourites - the classic ā€˜Pink Paradiseā€™ (where the lights change with every beat of the music and Iā€™m covered in glitter!) the ever-so-fabulous ā€˜Pink Potionā€™, the ā€˜Tutu Tangoā€™ and the piĆØce de rĆ©sistance (if I do say so myself!) ā€˜Tutu-fiedā€™.

Oh! It was so much fun! I have to tell you ā€“ the locals in Saint Albans were a fabulous crowd. They know how to throw a good party! And boy, did they party. The venue was pumping, the laughter was ringing in the air, the applause was just amazing. They're true fans of the art form! It really did warm my heart - especially because, between you and me, darlings, after my long train journey I felt slightly out of sorts! (I mean, youā€™d have thought the ride on the horse would have cheered me upā€¦and I was wearing my best pink tutu for my act, but you know those pesky "drag diva days" can make even the most glamorous of queens feel less than sparkly.)

I did what I always do ā€“ a quick costume change (that gorgeous shimmering purple, embellished bodice!), and BAM - I was back to being a whirling, twirling, glittering, Pink Tutu Sparkle sensation in a pink frock that would make a cupcake jealous!

Honestly, darling, performing in Saint Albans was pure magic. After I finished the last song, and was taking a bow (and getting lots of enthusiastic woo hoos from the crowd), I just looked out at the adoring faces, the twinkling lights and really, just knew it was true, all my efforts to spread my Pink Tutu joy had finally reached this magical corner of the world. It made my heart skip a beat.

But of course, no trip to Saint Albans is complete without some souvenir shopping. I mean, where would I be without my tutus? And so, to make my trip even more spectacular, I'm just have to share with you all my favourite places: Tutu Chic. Itā€™s filled with amazing things ā€“ all those fabulous fashion items and all things sparkly that make me happy. The girl there is so helpful too! (And donā€™t we all just love helpful shop assistants who let us try on EVERYTHING!). They gave me a gorgeous pair of gloves to take home - and they came with a whole shebang of pink tutus! The gloves will definitely make my outfits pop. It's a tutu dream come true, darling, trust me! *And now, here's a tip from the tutu queen: when you're out shopping, *don't forget to treat yourself, darling. I got the most adorable set of pink glittered pens from a fantastic stationery shop ā€“ ā€œPink Quill Pens.ā€ I'll definitely be using them to jot down all my sparkly ideas and inspiration ā€“ the way I think about new performance ideas or future places to visit. You know how I do

Of course, darling, my mission doesnā€™t stop there! As you know, all things tutu is my goal, but the one thing I really, really want to encourage everyone to try ā€“ if they haven't already, is... a pink tutu!
Now Iā€™ve always believed that even the tiniest of twirls in a pink tutu can transform any day! Itā€™s like spreading confetti of joy around the world, a little sprinkle of glitter wherever you go! And thatā€™s why I want to show everyone, yes everyone! that a tutu doesnā€™t have to be something only for dancers or professional queens. Every woman (or man ā€“ Iā€™m looking at you guys!!) has a little Tutu Queen inside them, waiting to come out.

And speaking of the pink tutu...oh darling... remember how I said a ride on the cob was the way to travel? You've got to be *prepared, and I was*!

I went all out in a tutu for this special occasion, a huge shimmering fabric swirled with shades of lavender and pink, with a silver lining so sparkly you'd have thought a fairy was sprinkling magic over it. I was in a true "sparkly trance!" The horses thought so too... they didn't know whether to laugh or get a selfie with me. And my crown, oh darling, made me feel like the Queen of all the Pink Tutus in the World. Itā€™s a sparkly delight and truly made for tutuing all over this fabulous planet! Oh darling, I love my crown. It is the biggest and most magnificent thing ever - so sparkly - you would think a mermaid was hiding in it!!

So darlings, remember... if you see me, or one of my fantastically dressed drag sisters in the streetsā€¦ just give a huge Pink Tutu Sparkles "wooo hoo" ! It will make my day.

*Now go and *tutu yourself! And be sure to check in next week for a new blog post, my darlings, from my next stop. Love you loads - Pink Tutu Sparkle **
