It's your Pink Tutu Sparkles here, reporting live from…drumroll please…Uxbridge! 💥🎉 You know, the first place in the UK to receive colour television, that's how exciting Uxbridge is! 📺 And it was the most wonderful spot to spend my weekend! I travelled in style, of course, on a train. Who needs a car when you can be gazing out the window at the countryside, dreaming of all the fabulous performances to come? 🏞️🚂 The journey itself was a fashion statement! I went all out, a majestic pink tulle number with feathers (because even the birds wanted to be friends). The other passengers seemed a little mesmerized, which, let’s be honest, was part of the plan! ✨
Upon arriving in Uxbridge, the place just felt like…magic! The cobblestone streets, the quirky shops, and even the lampposts had this air of…well, let's just say I wasn't surprised when I saw a dragon appear at the local fair! 🐉 Honestly, if you ever visit Uxbridge, keep your eyes peeled for these mystical beasts! 😜
I had the most delightful afternoon shopping at the quirky little boutiques. Can we talk about this vintage sequin dress I snagged?! Perfect for a ballet performance. ✨ And my new fuchsia platform boots! Ooh, the sparkles on them could be seen from outer space! 🌠
My mission this weekend was simple: get everyone to wear a pink tutu! (Remember, my ultimate dream is to have the world draped in pink tulle!) And guess what? I made significant progress! 😉 I met the most delightful woman at the park, who just happened to be on her way to a children's ballet recital! She ended up falling head-over-heels for my story (and the adorable, very sparkly tutu I had in my suitcase - a spare for emergencies!). She even let me use her as my makeshift catwalk while I modelled the pink, white and silver one I'd just picked up from the shop! 💖🤍✨ This wonderful woman, by the way, just so happens to be the one who made the fabulous drag queen that is me… well, her name is Alice, and I’ll just have to wait until a different blog to tell you all about how it came about! 😉
And to wrap up the perfect day, a wonderful treat was in order. Now, Uxbridge may be small but they’ve got the best ice cream shop in the whole world (okay, maybe I'm being slightly dramatic, but…no, they really do!). Strawberry ripple topped with sprinkles, whipped cream, and, you guessed it… a pink tutu! 🍓✨ You can't have an experience without pink, it just isn't right. 💖 (It’s one of the science-backed truths I learnt during my years in the lab!) 😉 I spent the evening doing what I do best – showing Uxbridge what it’s like to wear your heart on your sleeve (well, on your tutu)! ✨ Performing in the heart of town (in front of a completely bewildered local market…that, perhaps, had never seen such a spectacle!) gave me butterflies, as always, but you guys know my rule, when there are butterflies, the performance will be incredible, and it always is! 🦋💫
Later on that evening, we made our way to the pub - because you can't truly experience British life without some pints and a hearty pub dinner. The conversation? Well, naturally it all revolved around the most glorious and elegant piece of dancewear in the world - the tutu, obviously! The landlady even gifted me a complimentary bottle of Prosecco in exchange for the perfect impromptu impromptu ballet performance in the pub – it’s really worth getting in her good books! 😂 (I really wouldn’t want to have to explain why I got chased out, not for that reason… even if they’d given me a free tutu). 😉
What a magical weekend it was! I am already looking forward to returning soon. I hear they have a magnificent ballet theatre in the area (apparently the dancing is “quite” good…)! I’ll let you know how I get on! 😉
This pink tutu-loving queen has to be off now, darling, to pack up for my next adventure… which just might involve a horse or a chariot.
