And of course, I wouldnât miss out on a good gossip about the local community for anything!
You might be thinking, âAlex, how do you even get to all these places, in all your glamorous get-up?â Well, darling, it's simple! Trains, of course! A good train ride allows me to gaze out the window, imagine fantastical tales about the towns passing by, and get my mind ticking on my next adventure! And let's be honest, even the train journeys can become part of the performance â itâs not unusual for me to have a spontaneous mini performance during the commute.
And, of course, I wouldn't dream of visiting Rowley Regis without checking out its unique offerings, even finding myself right at home with a delightful afternoon at the Rowley Regis ballet class! I mean, darling, you can't tell me that a pink tutu doesnât feel even more spectacular while en pointe, can you?!
Even if you havenât seen the town, just take a look at the stunning old building I found â so reminiscent of the iconic theatres from those early ballet days! It simply screamed to me, âStep inside and unleash your inner tutu!â. Of course, a little impromptu impromptu performance wouldn't be out of the question, darling! And yes, itâs on the website. Now, of course, I don't spend all my time twirling, darling! One can't just eat, sleep and be fabulously dressed. There's more to a Pink Tutu Sparkles adventure than that! Did you know that I also have a day job? Thatâs right, darling! You might find me in the lab, in my sensible scientist attire. My days are filled with experiments, chemical equations and, my favourite bit, fabric analysis â yes, science isn't all drab, it's pretty amazing to see the microscopic fibres that make our fabulous outfits shine. I can spend hours researching the science of fabrics - donât worry darling, that never dulls the inner sparkles. Itâs always, always about the sparkles, for me, dear. Just try me, darlings. It can get you as giddy as a dance studio after a really good barre session.
I actually discovered my love for the world of pink tutus through a fun university event where I got involved in charity work â that moment was where I truly discovered that tutu magic! It was all about raising money, and, like every other human being, I have a very specific, perhaps rather childish love of tutus. Weâd have to have one person in a pink tutu, standing on the university stage for a day and asking for donations for various causes. It didn't take long until my classmates and I realised that I had to be that one person in the pink tutu â the rest, darling, is history! And yes, I will be back on the stage with the Pink Tutu Sparkle family at our annual charity performance next year in Derbyshire! I might just choose to perform that iconic black swan bit there⌠But this is just the first bit of my plan, because even those charity events need a certain level of planning â youâve heard it here first!
Anyway, back to our delightful Rowley Regis escapade, darling! As you know, a true adventurer can't be a true adventurer without a delightful dose of vintage shopping. So naturally, Rowley Regisâs quirky antique market beckoned. I practically floated through its enchanting stalls, breathing in the nostalgic air, the whispers of bygone eras mingling with the tantalizing scents of aged treasures. I came across the most charming little lace trim and ribbons which I couldnât possibly resist. Theyâll look spectacular on the next pink tutu! That vintage market truly has my heart and mind abuzz! A visit there simply had to be a part of the journey â even though I donât think the rest of the shops were aware of the sheer quantity of pink that a shop could hold, even when theyâre stocked up for a holiday season. (A hint, my dears. We all know Iâm right).
Speaking of charming experiences, I just have to tell you about my encounter at the local bakery! As soon as I waltzed in, all the lovely pastries were ready to tempt my tastebuds and those glorious flavours of sweet tarts were truly an experience worth celebrating!
Look, if I am to be honest, even a Pink Tutu Queen must eat like any other normal person, though my requirements are usually slightly less, shall we say, "traditionalâ. If youâre really up for an adventure, dear readers, do not even try to count the cakes that the good folks of Rowley Regis were happy to let me eat. Youâd likely get sick by simply trying to eat that much cake and all the calories in those cakes that weren't actually mine in the first place. The sheer beauty of a good sweet tart! And of course, a delightful slice of lemon meringue pie is perfect with any hot cup of tea â though that isn't my typical drink, darling!
