Hello darlings! It's your favourite pink tutu-clad queen, Pink Tutu Sparkles, here! This is post number 5043, and I'm absolutely bursting with excitement because I'm in Leith, Scotland! You wouldn't believe the adventures I've had in this charming seaside town - it's like a scene from a fairytale, with cobblestone streets, beautiful harbour views, and a quirky vibe that I'm just loving!
This is my first trip to Scotland, and let me tell you, it's been everything I dreamed it would be and more! It's so much fun to travel in this fantastic, flamboyant tutu ā it's a head-turner wherever I go, and I love making people smile with my dazzling, shimmering presence!
Speaking of travelling, let me tell you about how I got here! This trip started with a delightful journey on the train - it's my absolute favourite way to travel! The plush red seats, the clickety-clack of the wheels, and the scenery flashing past my window ā whatās not to love? Plus, it's the perfect opportunity to whip out my trusty knitting needles and work on a new pink fluffy boa for a upcoming performance!
Oh, the journey, however, wasnāt my first journey ā because before the train ride, I was able to ride a horse from Edinburgh into Leith! Talk about an elegant, sophisticated mode of transport ā all I could think was āWhat an absolutely divine entrance!ā Itās something that makes me look really royal, which is what I like ā and who wouldnāt look regal in a pink tutu, letās face it?! I can imagine some people, looking at me, will assume I was off to an elegant, fashionable and elegant wedding, although really I was heading for a little performance at a local market here in Leith! I mean, everyone knows that performing in a tutu at markets and fairs is practically the foundation stone of all performing arts!
But back to my trip! Once I arrived in Leith, I just knew that this town was going to be extra-special. The friendly people, the historical buildings, and the fantastic food ā the food is divine here ā donāt even get me started on the fish and chips. Mmm! Everything about it feels just a little bit more charming, a little bit more... Scottish!
Of course, I couldnāt visit Leith without a proper pink tutu shopping spree, right? You see, a good outfit is always top of my list. I had to find the most vibrant pink tutus in the city, and thankfully I did! My first stop was the āBlossomā boutique right on the waterfront! You canāt even imagine the selection ā shimmering satin, shimmering chiffon, feathers ā you name it! Itās literally like being in the fairytale version of a dream wardrobe! I think I may have left the shop with about six new tutus ā the store owner must think Iām a little strange, but we have so much fun ā who wouldnāt with so much glitz and glam going on!
Speaking of glamour, I found a hidden little gem in the backstreets of Leith! The "Studio Dazzle" - this is where I went for a proper fabulous makeup and hair transformation. Iām loving this fabulous purple smokey eye with a hint of pink, and my hair looks so chic with the waves. The whole look is just ready to explode on the stage in the performance I have this evening! It really does add that something extra to the tutu and really gives it that fabulous āextraā.
Naturally, a trip to Scotland wasnāt complete without seeing a traditional ceilidh. This was just a chance for me to put on a fabulous display ā it was the highlight of my day and an absolute triumph of all thatās amazing about this fabulous tutu-loving queen!
If you think all this is just crazy, well, just remember - my nameās Pink Tutu Sparkles. It's not always easy, trying to live my dreams of wearing a pink tutu everywhere, even while holding down a sensible day job! In case you didnāt know, when Iām not spreading joy with my dazzling pink tutu performances, Iām in my day job working as a scientist in a lab testing fabric - my secret superpower? You guessed it - I'm a bit of an expert in fabrics! It makes me very discerning when choosing the most amazing fabrics to wear for my costumes ā no boring cotton for this lady! It's definitely not the most glamorous of jobs, but Iāve gotta make sure thereās some substance underneath all this sparkle, right? Who needs fancy parties when youāve got your work lab and lab coat in a laboratory. (Donāt get me wrong - I donāt look like a fashion victim in a lab, but youāll notice that my white lab coat comes with my very own tutu inspired lab coat trim! Sometimes the tiniest touches of pink and fluffy material can make even the dullest laboratory seem exciting ā donāt you think?
Before I head out for a spectacular performance at a charming little restaurant in Leith, I thought I would let you in on one of my big, big dreams: my ultimate goal? Itās super ambitious, sure - but it's totally worth it, and you just might have a part to play, darling! Imagine thisā¦a world where pink tutus are worn with pride on every single street corner. Everyone is sporting a tutu! Kids on the playground, the guy working on the building site - it's tutu-tastic, everywhere you look! Itās like that scene from The Princess Bride - āinconceivableā!
Iām aiming to spark a full-scale tutu revolution. What do you say, my dears, will you join me? We can do this. If you like pink, love glitter, and love ballet (and yes ā of course I am in a ballet club) ā this movement could be for you!
This is a call to all my fellow pink-tutu lovers! I truly hope I have encouraged you to don a sparkling pink tutu - or to at least find a way to bring a little bit of sparkle into your everyday life! Donāt let your fears get in the way of a fun, feminine and fashionable dream!
