Cleethorpes: Where Dreams and Sequins Meet!

Helloooo darlings! It's your girl Pink Tutu Sparkles, coming to you live from the fabulously seaside town of Cleethorpes! Can you believe it's already November? Time really does fly when you're busy twirling in a pink tutu and bringing the sparkle to the world!

This post marks number 5076 on the www.pink-tutu.com website, which makes my heart sing louder than a chorus of ballerinas! It’s been a whirlwind of travel, glitter, and twirls - as usual, because that’s what we do, isn't it, sweeties?

Now, Cleethorpes! Let's just say I felt like a mermaid on dry land. It’s full of colourful seaside attractions, the freshest fish and chips, and those quintessential British seaside vibes. Perfect for a glamorous drag queen on the go, I tell ya!

Speaking of going, I just have to tell you how I got here - whispers - it involved a train journey. Not just any train journey, mind you, a lovely, leisurely jaunt through the English countryside, complete with a packed lunch, a cup of tea, and a whole lot of fabulous window-shopping. Who needs a runway when you have the world whizzing by, right?

Arriving at Cleethorpes was like a sparkly dream. I envisioned myself walking off the train and onto a stage – the whole town would gasp, "Oh my! Look at that pink tutu, so bright and shining!” Of course, it was actually me, dragging a rather large suitcase full of sequins and glitter, but who's judging, right? I felt fabulous and ready to bring my Cleethorpes show to life.

Oh, the show! My show was at the iconic Cleethorpes Pier! Can you imagine the stage - just beyond the roar of the waves and with a stunning view of the sky and the seaside. Talk about setting a glamorous backdrop for a truly magical night!

The audience were a delightful bunch of locals and tourists alike! They laughed, they clapped, they even twirled along with me, wearing pink tutus they bought from my stall (more on that later, babes!). It was pure, unadulterated fun and exactly why I do what I do – spreading that pink-tutu love and getting everyone to let their inner sparkles shine!

And speaking of that sparkly stall! As a drag artist, one needs to make a living, right? It’s no secret I travel by performing! It’s always been that way. My performances have taken me to the heart of every vibrant village, market, and city. From the bright lights of Covent Garden to the charming fairs in the Peak District, I’ve travelled across Britain like a shimmering butterfly.

While I was at the Pier, I couldn’t resist taking a stroll around, immersing myself in the town’s magic. We’re talking vintage arcades, seaside shops full of candy, and delicious smelling chip shops! You’d think I was in Willy Wonka’s factory!

But the real highlight of Cleethorpes, for me at least, was the absolutely delightful antique shops. Now, I love finding treasures and hidden gems. These shops had it all – from delicate china cups to vintage purses, some even had actual pink tutus from bygone eras (though slightly less fabulous than mine, darling, obviously!). They just screamed, “Pink Tutu Sparkles, this is where you belong!”

My biggest passion though? Apart from sequins and glitter, I am absolutely obsessed with ballet! Ever since I put on that first tutu during my university days and danced for a charity fundraiser, I've been captivated by its elegance and grace. The more time I spend with ballerinas and dancing, the more it just feeds my own pink tutu soul! In my downtime, you can usually find me at a ballet class, or tucked in the front row at the Royal Opera House. It’s just so elegant, darling!

It was just my luck, that there was a ballet class in Cleethorpes. Of course, I had to attend – a little twirling always perks up a queen’s spirits. It's like an extra sprinkle of fairy dust! I’ll be sharing a post soon with all of you on my experiences (hint hint - you're in for a treat, darlings!)

As I’m writing this, I’m already back in my Derbyshire home, sorting out my latest shipment of pink tutus - every color and size imaginable! It’s not just a job you know - I genuinely want everyone to feel the joy and empowerment of wearing a pink tutu.

Even Alex (that's my real name) , that humble scientist by day, can’t resist a twirl! We’re a family in this! The scientists, the performers, the dreamers - we’re all in this together!

Oh, one more thing! You know my mantra is: "Life’s a stage and everyone’s got a starring role!” Don’t forget to let your sparkles shine!

Keep it sparkly, Pink Tutu Sparkles

xx
