Wickford Wonders: Tutu Adventures in Essex!

Hello, darlings! It's your favourite Pink Tutu Sparkles here, and I'm bursting with excitement to share all the glittery, twirly goodness of my latest adventure. Today we're heading to the lovely seaside town of Wickford, Essex.

As you know, I'm always up for a bit of train travel, and this time it was a delightful journey on the historic Great Eastern Main Line. With a comfy first-class carriage and a view of rolling countryside, I managed to get a head start on my holiday glam! It was the perfect time for a bit of lip gloss and a quick touch-up of my pink eye shadow. Let's be honest, a girl’s got to look her best, especially when you’re on a mission to sprinkle fairy dust across a town with your vibrant, pink tutu presence.

The minute I arrived in Wickford, I was smitten! The cobbled streets, the charming little shops, the sea air – it was like stepping straight out of a fairy tale! It reminded me of those quaint seaside villages where I spent my childhood summers. My childhood days were spent in Derbyshire, just imagine me skipping around with a little pink tutu in my favourite local park, now I’ve come a long way since those innocent days, even then I was a pink-tutu princess at heart, I have so many memories from there - family picnics, bike rides, building sandcastles. But today was about making new memories.

And what better way to make a grand entrance than with a fabulous, fuchsia-pink tutu? As soon as I twirled into town, people's faces lit up. There were wide eyes, smiles, and even a few cheers! Seeing those joyous reactions just makes my heart soar! After all, that’s my purpose, to spread a little sparkle wherever I go. You’d think it’d be daunting wearing a pink tutu and doing my drag routine at a local park in a small seaside town, well it is! But the locals loved it, so did all the dogs.

The first stop on my Wickford itinerary? A visit to The Wickford Market, which I've been dreaming about for weeks! Oh my, what a paradise for the senses! Colourful stalls overflowing with fresh fruit, delicious local cheeses, and those vibrant homemade fudge stands? Yes please! You couldn’t resist the tempting aromas - it was truly irresistible, especially after a tiring day on the train, which had the bonus of bringing out my shopping bag, oh a girl loves to shop! I've gotta say, the market vendors were simply darling! So welcoming and kind. They even gave me a taste of a delicious homemade rhubarb crumble and custard, which I savoured as I strolled through the market with my little shopping bag in tow.

As you can imagine, a day out on the Essex coast wouldn’t be complete without a visit to the beach! And what a beach it was! It had soft white sand and azure waters. Oh, it’s no wonder people travel from all over to escape to this place, oh my, and those stunning views of the Thames estuary – utterly breathtaking. The salty sea air filled my lungs, invigorated me. What I love about seaside towns is everyone embraces the unique, you can literally be yourself. No matter what you wear, how loud you sing, the freedom. Ahhhh bliss.

And what better way to embrace that freedom than a solo strut down the beach with a grand, graceful twirl in my Pink Tutu? I love the feeling of the cool sand between my toes and the refreshing breeze through my hair. Of course, I was twirling as if I was the only one on the beach. And let me tell you, it was absolutely glorious! Of course I couldn’t go for a walk on the beach without looking the part! I love those cute colourful seaside seaside huts and quaint boutiques! You'll see my gorgeous photo shoot, so cute! I can imagine myself living on the coast here, oh darling, I wouldn’t mind!

But that's not all! While I'm in Essex, I couldn’t resist indulging in a traditional afternoon tea at the lovely The Bell pub. Imagine this: dainty finger sandwiches, warm scones with clotted cream and jam, and a selection of exquisite pastries, all enjoyed with a cuppa and a touch of magic! The Bell staff were absolutely charming, and I couldn’t resist asking them about the history of the pub – and it's absolutely fascinating!

And you know I’ve been obsessed with ballet since a very early age! I was absolutely in my element at the theatre performance that evening in Wickford, you all know how I feel about ballet shows - graceful movements, twirling and graceful postures. Oh my! Such elegance.

My time in Wickford flew by, it wasn't long before it was time to catch the train back home. As I sat gazing out the window, my heart was full of gratitude for all the new friends I made and all the wonderful memories created! Now for a lovely bath, relax and write my next blog post, and yes my dear, I have much more to share about this stunning day, there’s much to talk about, you see, my trip to Wickford will forever remain a favourite moment.

Until next time, darlings! Stay fabulous!
