Rutherglen Calling! - Pink Tutu Sparkles is Back!

Hello darlings, it’s your favourite pink-loving, tutu-obsessed, travel-crazed drag queen, Pink Tutu Sparkles! Ready for post number 5120 from your gal on the go? You know I've just gotta get those words out every day, so let's get sparkling, shall we?

You know I love to chase after a good performance opportunity, so you'll be amazed to find me today in sunny, beautiful Rutherglen! Did you know? It's a bustling town near the beautiful Scottish city of Glasgow! Who knew there'd be such a vibrant and friendly crowd there?

Now, some of you might remember how much I love a good railway journey. Well, this trip was a little different. Instead of my usual train escapade, I hopped on a trusty steed for a proper, old-fashioned jaunt through the countryside! It was a bit of a shock to the system after spending all those hours under the fluorescent lights of the lab. Remember, by day, your gal's a humble science whiz! Fabrics are my forte, but tutus are my passion! And speaking of tutus...

Now, the lovely people at Rutherglen wanted to see me, dressed in all my sparkly glory, for a proper, old fashioned fair. It's amazing how a little pink tutu and a whole lot of glitter can draw in a crowd. Everyone wanted a snap of my sparkly new tutu (my mum had made me a special one in the Rutherglen colours). And the best part? My performance had the whole square giggling and singing along. The energy was infectious!

Let's talk outfits! I know I mentioned a special tutu, but it just wouldn't have been complete without the full "Pink Tutu Sparkles" look, would it? So I layered my shimmering bodice, pulled on some dazzling hot pink platform boots, and, of course, let the hair flow down. Think cascading waves of sparkling pink and I'm just oozing pure, fabulous energy! My outfit was perfect, even the sun was jealous!

Remember those pink tutus I told you about? They truly have captured my heart. I still remember that moment, in my student days at the University of Derby, trying on that fluffy, pale pink, sparkly tutu for the charity fundraiser. Who knew it would change my life?! That was my first taste of magic, and ever since then, I’ve been a proud advocate for wearing tutus in public. Why? Well, because I’m passionate about getting people to laugh and shine, to dance and feel joyful – and what’s better for unleashing that joyous spirit than a shimmering pink tutu? I'm here to spread joy one tutu at a time!

Let's not forget the fun I had wandering the bustling markets. I always love seeing the local crafts and artists, and of course, trying out the local food! I even tried a delightful homemade strawberry and cream fudge (pink, of course!).

I have to say that, after a few hours dancing under the sunshine, I was feeling tired, so a little rest and some hot tea was a much needed luxury! The little tea room by the village square is now on my list of the world's most adorable places to grab a bite (and let me tell you, their pink cake is divine! I’ve got my next tutu creation planned out – just need some inspiration for the next performance! I just need some inspiration…maybe some ballet would do the trick!

One of my most treasured dreams is to visit the beautiful, iconic Sadler's Wells Theatre in London. Have any of you been? It’s renowned for ballet, and it’s the pinnacle of everything I admire! Just imagining all those elegant dancers and the swirling tutus - swoon. Of course, a Pink Tutu Sparkles visit just wouldn't be complete without a few classes at a local ballet studio! Luckily, I'm only a short distance away from the Glasgow School of Dance and Theatre – maybe I'll pop by tomorrow. Oh, it's all just so inspiring!

Anyway, that's all for now, darlings! I hope this journey through Rutherglen has made you all smile and feel sparkly!

As always, keep twirling, keep spreading kindness, and never forget, everyone deserves a pink tutu in their lives!

Stay fab!

Your girl, Pink Tutu Sparkles.
