Wishaw Whirlwind! - Post #5126

Oh darling, what a week it's been! It all started with a pink feather boa dream… or perhaps it was just a regular dream because, as you know, everything looks extra sparkly when you're snoozing! But the bottom line is that this week has been all about the sparkle. I know you lovely lot adore seeing all my fabulous journeys on www.pink-tutu.com - and believe me, there’s never a dull moment with Pink Tutu Sparkles!

So, I must tell you all about my latest adventure, a trip to Wishaw, a charming little town just south of Motherwell, with its cobbled streets and the most adorable antique shop you can imagine (with the most amazing pink velvet armchairs!). Oh darling, let me tell you, my wardrobe was just positively bursting with anticipation for this one. And trust me, my trusty wardrobe is always full of something delightful – the problem is usually picking which exquisite piece gets to be the star of the show!

Speaking of exquisite, what do you think of my new ensemble? Honestly, I just couldn’t resist picking up a vintage silk top with some perfectly placed diamantés at the antique shop – and the colour was just perfect for my “Sparkles” alter ego. As a finishing touch I chose to pair it with a beautiful tulle tutu (naturally!) – it had just the right shade of pink with a splash of lilac and some stunning gold glitter that added just the right touch of drama. Honestly, I'm sure I could hear the entire town whispering about my entrance!

Now, Wishaw, oh my darling, what a delight! The folks were so lovely and incredibly welcoming. The town itself is positively charming - a blend of history and quaint charm - and I swear it's radiating that unique "Northern magic". Honestly, after you’ve seen one village, you’ve seen them all – I usually just use my journeys to gather ideas for my next sparkly ensemble – but this place is just different. And don't even get me started on the friendly folks who made me feel right at home! We’ve been all over the globe - literally – you name it, I’ve worn a tutu on its streets – and that includes those little Scottish fishing towns – we love to do what the locals love to do - I’m talking, crabbing, seafood markets, fish and chips by the sea!

Anyway, I arrived in Wishaw by train - well, what else would Pink Tutu Sparkles take?! The journey was incredibly delightful – I practically commandeered the whole carriage and transformed it into my personal pink palace. The kind conductor loved the sparkly boas and even started chatting about the upcoming “Summer Fayre”! Oh, it was just delightful!

When we reached the town, darling, let me tell you, everyone just had to see me and my tutu in its full glory! Oh, I simply adore how quickly people – well, the women mostly - are falling in love with tutus! They all look fantastic – and honestly, if I could travel the world spreading the good news of pink tulle – you bet, I would do it in a heartbeat. My mission statement – I’ll have the world wearing pink tutus!

Honestly, my entire trip revolved around performance and performance alone - and what better way to connect with the community than by performing? This week’s gigs were nothing short of amazing - there was a wonderful performance at a local café, smothered in pink glitter! Oh, the folks were lovely - they had the biggest smiles when I appeared and danced around the café, a whirling pink hurricane! It was an absolute blast. The other event – oh darling! What can I say - a beautiful town square and an equally wonderful local dance group who joined in my performance – even my dear horse-drawn carriage took a turn around the town centre - now what other drag queen can boast that?

There’s simply nothing like a carriage, you know – a touch of Victorian magic that adds to that fairytale, dreamlike aspect to every pink tutu performance. My latest horse – a big chestnut mare named "Rosalind" - was a darling and seemed delighted by the sparkly costume! Oh, the photos of us prancing together just might make the cover of "Pink Tutu” magazine, just you wait and see – my followers love me in pink and Rosalind will look incredible in a saddle. Just picture it: Pink Tutu Sparkles, resplendent in a beautiful tutu and Rosalind all decked out in pink bows and saddle covers, it's enough to make any fashion-loving heart flutter.

You might think being on tour, hopping on and off carriages like they're some kind of regular form of transport, is all just a little bit extravagant – but trust me when I say, it's essential! Think about it – where’s the fun if you aren’t able to grace your presence in all your fabulousity in a way that sends hearts soaring and jaws dropping? There’s really no substitute – and this is a huge part of who Pink Tutu Sparkles is. It’s more than just a journey, it’s a lifestyle - living every day in a pink cloud of glitter and joy!

One more thing - let me tell you, getting to the heart of Wishaw was quite an adventure! It was actually just after midnight, darling, when we arrived by train – oh darling, we always try to get a last-minute carriage that comes complete with pink frosted cupcakes and pink prosecco, because who doesn’t love a midnight journey filled with sugar and fizzy dreams! Honestly, I spent the whole journey daydreaming – or perhaps, honestly, I might have been dancing with a little help from that pink prosecco! But by morning I was ready for Wishaw and its glorious magic.

And what's next, you ask? Oh, honey, don’t even ask - I simply can’t give away all my secrets – after all, the beauty of Pink Tutu Sparkles is the unpredictability. It’s always something new – it’s always pink!*

Just you wait – a little birdie tells me, there might just be a rather special dance performance in a certain village in Yorkshire – oh, and it involves horses, I hear! Stay tuned, darling!
