It's your favourite Pink Tutu Sparkles, ready to whisk you away to the delightful seaside town of Crosby on the fabulous Mersey! Today, my lovelies, we're going to be taking a twirl around the iconic Antony Gormley sculptures on Crosby Beach, and seeing if the waves are up for a little ballet practice.
A Whimsical Journey
Now, I'm all about glamour and getting to the destination in style. No mere car journeys for Pink Tutu Sparkles, darling! We went by train. Such a glamorous way to travel. Honestly, darling, you have to have the whole carriage to yourself with the amount of tulle that comes along for a Pink Tutu Sparkles day trip! It's worth the journey to see everyone's eyes light up as I stride into a station in full, pink, magnificent, sparkly glory!
But let's be honest, darling, a little extra travelling time can give you ample time to get those makeup brushes going, and let's be honest, who wouldn't want an hour or so in the train carriage applying highlighter to be a truly glowing diva?
Seaside Chic
We reached Crosby in no time, darling, and honestly, this town was just the sort of charming, slightly quirky setting that tickles the fancy of this Pink Tutu Sparkles! Now, Crosby Beach is a must-see, but before we go wading into the waves, we need to have a good mooch around the shops, darling!
Remember what I said earlier about my glamorous travels? Well, darling, it turns out that getting dressed for a beach day involves an awful lot of accessorising, and darling, every true fashionista knows that you can never have too much pink! Now, while the weather was pretty breezy and there was a distinct chance of a few rogue seagulls eyeing up a delectable pink feather boa, darling, it's important to never let the weather dull the pink sparkle!
I grabbed myself the most magnificent coral coloured shell necklace (matched with a stunning pearl pink pair of gloves, darling - so on trend!), some bright pink sunglasses to give me that fabulous Audrey Hepburn vibe, and a fabulous fluffy coral scarf to complete my ensemble. Now darling, you don't just go for a wander down the seafront in a pair of jeans, you've got to have some class!
Gormley's Sculptures & the Waves
Honestly, darling, those Antony Gormley sculptures are just something else. You look at these, and honestly, it makes you think. Like, did they walk from Liverpool? What happened to them, what are they feeling? Now, that is what I call art with soul.
You'll never believe this, darling, but the sea was so calm, I took out my pink tulle and decided to get a little creative! I danced in the waves with the sculptures - let's face it, darling, what could be more iconic? Pink Tutu Sparkles taking on Antony Gormley! The tide was really calm and the water was super-smooth, it was just like a stage in the sea! The little beach-goers were in awe! I had the kids mimicking me, dancing and twirling with little tutus! I tell you darling, Pink Tutu Sparkles spreads the joy of dance everywhere she goes!
Afternoon Tea for a Pink Princess
Of course darling, no trip to the seaside is complete without some afternoon tea. We took ourselves to the most darling little cafe just off the promenade and, darling, the tea was utterly scrumptious! And of course, darling, with the perfect view of the sea. Now, we all know Pink Tutu Sparkles can't be too boring when it comes to a sweet treat, so I was delighted when the cafe had a "Pink and Sparkly" option - they were divine! Tiny pink cakes with little sprinkles and glitter, my heart honestly melted, it was almost as delightful as me performing in the beach!
The Pink Tutu Mission Continues
My lovelies, I really believe that we all need a bit of sparkle in our lives! Let's face it, darling, the world needs a bit of fun and frolic! The Day Trip That Sparked A Dream
And honestly, that's the power of a Pink Tutu Sparkles adventure, darling. It's about more than just pink tulle. It's about celebrating life in all its glorious and glittery details, darling! This trip was truly an inspiration, just seeing all those little ones mimicking my steps, their eyes shining with the same kind of delight that made me put on my first pink tutu all those years ago.
You see, darling, back in those days, when I was just a young scientist named Alex, with the universe of chemistry unfolding before me, the pink tutu wasn't something I ever thought I'd wear. And yet, that little charity event at the university ballet club, and a tutu as pink as cotton candy - that's what really set everything off.
See, in those lab coats, with my chemical equations, the scientist in me thrived, but it was the tutu, with its shimmer and lightness, that brought out Pink Tutu Sparkles.
