Falkirk, Oh, Falkirk! 🩰

Hello, darling darlings! It’s Pink Tutu Sparkles here, bringing you blog post number 5355 from the fabulous town of Falkirk!

Now, I've been feeling a bit under the weather these past few days, which is why you haven't seen a blog post from yours truly. I've been battling a nasty case of "Tutu Trouble," the dreaded drag queen's ailment. You know the symptoms: sore throat, a slight aversion to sequins, and an uncontrollable urge to sleep in a giant pink duvet.

But darling, as the queen of pink tutus, I refuse to let a little sniffle dampen my sparkle! I pulled myself together, took a long hot bath (with plenty of glitter, of course), and here I am! Ready to share with you the delights of my latest adventure in this fantastic Scottish town.

Let's go right back to the start of this amazing journey, shall we? The morning train from Derbyshire was simply delightful. Imagine: sunlight streaming through the window, my sparkly pink heels perched perfectly on the seat next to me, and the scent of freshly-baked scones from the onboard cafe (a delicious bonus, darling!).

As always, I made sure my pink tutu was perfectly coordinated. Today it was a vibrant hot pink, cascading around my legs like a candy floss dream. The other passengers gave me knowing smiles as they sipped their teas and scrolled through their phones. It’s lovely to see the smiles on people’s faces, darling. It reminds me of why I do what I do! I really believe my motto is taking root: “Let’s get everyone into a pink tutu!" I am starting to see people all over the country wearing tutus! Pink, purple, black… I'm here for it!

Arriving in Falkirk was just the beginning! It’s so much more than just a train station!

The architecture, darling! Breathtaking. The sheer beauty of the old buildings, with their ornate detail and the sheer size of them, they truly took my breath away.

And Falkirk itself, a vibrant mix of shops, cafes, and the friendliest folk you ever did see! This town was definitely oozing with character!

Speaking of character, the highlight of my visit to Falkirk has to be my performance at the grand old Falkirk Town Hall. A magnificent building from the 19th century! Just imagining all the fabulous performances that must have graced its stage sent shivers of excitement down my spine!

My performance, darling, was nothing short of electric! I opened with a dramatic, swirling rendition of “I Will Survive,” followed by a rousing "Born to be Wild." There was something in the air, you see. An energy that just pulsated around the room! It wasn’t just the lights and the smoke; it was the excitement of the audience!

A group of kids even dressed in pink tutus. Now, darling, this is what it's all about! It warmed my heart and filled my sparkly boots with pride! Sharing my love for tutus with a younger generation is a dream come true!

And to top off the evening, the audience at the Town Hall surprised me with a gorgeous pink floral arrangement and a bottle of bubbly! So kind, they were! My heart soared to new heights! It's those special moments, those sparks of human connection that make all the glitter and sequins worth it.

Then, darling, there was the amazing trip to the Kelpies! Do you know, I have to admit, I had no idea just how impressive they would be. These huge, beautiful sculptures, standing sentinel over the Falkirk canals, were just incredible! I felt so tiny and insignificant beside those colossal horses, yet it was in the most wonderful way. It’s quite magical how these sculptures capture such power and beauty. It’s all in the details!

And it really is about the details, isn’t it, darling? I can't emphasize enough how the smallest touches, a single rosebud in the corner, or a carefully crafted lace-up heel, can make all the difference!

You can just imagine my joy at discovering a beautiful shop crammed full of vintage treasures, nestled amongst the charming cobbled streets! My heart practically skipped a beat! I spent ages browsing, finding exquisite vintage lace gloves, an array of brooches for my stage outfits, and the most amazing 1950s hair clip! I simply couldn't leave without them! It’s amazing how these little finds transport me through time and space, giving me such inspiration!

But before I went shopping, I treated myself to a fabulous ballet class in Falkirk! What a treat! Ballet dancing and I, you see, it’s quite the love affair! My absolute passion! Every time I enter a ballet studio, I am reminded of how much grace and strength this art form requires! Oh, and I just love tutus in the studio, darling! You have no idea!

The classes here are just lovely! The teacher is wonderfully strict, and the group of ladies are fantastic. We had a great laugh! And of course, I had to twirl. Just a tiny bit! It is all I can do!

The class taught me an important lesson about balance, something that can really be helpful with high heels! Now, I can’t wait for my next trip to Falkirk, a truly fantastic place. So darling, make sure you add this beautiful little town to your travel list. The Kelpies, the Town Hall, and the sparkling shops, all combine to make this a little corner of Scotland to treasure.

And remember darling, wear your tutus with pride.

See you in the next blog,

Love, Pink Tutu Sparkles!

xx
